I recently completed a second thru-hike of the Colorado Trail in as many years. Although I had a great time on my first thru-hike in 2022, I left that experience feeling like it wasn't my best rep. I can't stop on a bad rep.
So, I decided to do it again. This time armed with more knowledge and patience for the difficulty of the altitude and terrain. This video brings my first 5 days on trail to the viewer.

Curious why did the East? Assume you did west last hike? I’ve done west twice and East once…noticed you didn’t go into Salida. If you did again curious what you’d change. Ie town resupply etc. i like the double town stay in Frisco.. the tram works great!

Yes, did the west in 22 and east in 23. Both are great, west has more views, east is more of a cool forest walk. As for trail towns, I do wish I went into Salida, but my bigger milage days made it not make sense. Must town stops are Frisco amd Lake City. Lake City is an awesome little town. It's expensive but if on a budget they have options. Resupply there is very expensive so I sent a box both years.

@@EarlyRiser71think I’ll do west fir a third time, east was a bore…with that said I night hiked most of East😂. I can’t help but stop in Salida, moonlight pizza is a godsend! Lake city is a neat lil town and the coffee shop and bakery are awesome! I have a friend who just moved to creede so may go there next. Thx again
