Thanks for the review and mentioning that the unit has independent volume. I wish Colorfly would provide 2 firmware like Truthear does for synced or independent volume so the user can choose which they want to use.

I have the Shanling UA4 (2023 version) and it has such function from its menu and I think this is the only dongle from my collection that has this function.

I am really torn between these and the Cayin RU6. If this delivers velvety smooth mids like RU6, I'm sold. Does it compete with RU6, mate? By the way, good review!

I have the similarly spec Yongse YS-S3 and like it a great deal, ESS chips are too linear too lean, no wonder that the M1P performs well. As for independent volume, it is a necessity for iPhone users as the steps between volumes are too big so an independent volume is very important.

Cheers for the iphone information. The M1P has a lot of steps where you can hold it for faster increase/decrease or do it one press at a time.

I prefer it over the Dawn Pro and it has more power. Seems to be made better as well.

@@VortexReviews1 No. I have Ibasso DC03 Pro and Xduoo Link2 Bal. But I want something more like analog sound. People recommended me Cayin RU6 or Dacport HD. But if Colorfly CDA M1P is as good as these and cheaper, I would take it! Is is as good, mate?

@@VortexReviews1 I think Dacport HD is out of stock. About the CDA M1P, I'll sell the Link2 Bal. I like to test new types of sound and did not test a AKM chip based dac yet .

I mentioned in the video it has independent volume control. I don't know how many volume steps there is but it is a lot. Thanks very much but please English only.

Game mode is only the switch to UAC 1.0 for console use. No microphone support.

I have recently sold the ibasso dc04 pro listened to it once and sold it, i much preffer the truthear shio, i heard this has a original akm velevet tuning, like the akm4493 chip from back in the day before the new akm chips came out, which sound like ess chips imo

I am surprised you like the Shio over the DC04 Pro. Cirrus Logic dacs are liked the least from feedback I get and peoples opinions.

@@VortexReviews1 the DC 04 pro sounds good, but to my ears its nothing special, cirrus logics dont sound like they should, which is warm, instead you get a neutral bright sound and average soundstage, but great detail retrival and clarity, with the shio i get a bigger soundstage and allthough they are neutral they have that hint of warmth that just gives the bass that extra weight/impact and smooths out the treble, they both have great dynamic range but i preffer the shio, however its down to personal prefferences....most people seem to buy dongnes on asthetics not on sound quality...the chinese are masters of design and marketing

I have some experience with the AKM4493SEQ sound, and it's definitely not like the old smooth velvet sound of the classic AKM chips... It's closer to being bright and airy like the modern ESS, but with a more musical character to it.

@@camotech1314 i agree , if we want the original akm velvet sound we will have to but something like fiio x5 gen 3, fiio m11, fiio m11 pro, fiio m9, or the cayin n5, cayin n3 pro, some of the early shanling daps m2 x m3 ? Ibasso dx 120, and so on

@@ruslanmulyk8601 i own cayin ru6....quite power hungry compare to truthear shio and hidizs s9....sound is quite unique nor warm or bright and mostly to dead neutral.... BA and planar timbre is is different level on this dac...but imaging quite fuzzy and lack of smoothness .... maybe ru7 quite opposite i guest cause is pure delta sigma dac (1bit dac)

Only Windows 7 and 8. 10 and 11 is just plug and play.
