Every time I want to do henna I choose this video over every video on youtube! Yes, your video is informative for sure! You are beautiful and your henna turned out beautifully! That is a great color on you!
I watched this video 5xs over the course of a year😂I’m very serious about this and want to make sure I’m doing the right thing. Trying this weekend thanks to you!!!🥰
Thank you so much for this video!!! I was getting tired of covering my grey lately and started to repel the idea of putting chemicals on my hair. I gave up on henna after failing once but after I saw your thumbnail pic of beautiful color& curls, I decided to give it a try again (even purchased the same exact product from the same Indian store! Lol) It worked beautifully and I know I will continue this journey of self care💗Save me so much $ and it feels great to use something natural for my hair. Next time I’ll try out Indian hair oils you mentioned. Thank you so much🥰🥹✨✨✨
Hi Stacey, thanks so much for so much information. I've watched several of your videos and learned so much that I had to subscribe to your channel. Thanks 😊
@@ANaturalHype i agree...no total grey here either lol. That store doesnt ship outside of local area 😞...wish they did..I would like to use the same blend henna. I will try to find the blends seperate
I am so glad that I found your channel. I absolutely love you hair. I wanted to know could you please, please do a video on how you mix the henna step by step.
I LOVE LOVE LOOOOVE this video!!!! Thank you. I love the red-brown color that henna gives me. I thought that I was the only one not wanting to use henna to color grey to black and instead using henna for color. Brava!!!
Hey sis, try switching the coconut oil to shea butter or Chondrus Chrispus powder - or both. Coconut oil actually prevents it from binding as well. Your dye still came out great, so it might just last longer if you try out the other way.
Great video, I used to do a henna/indigo combo consistently years ago. I've found over the past couple of years (of not doing Henna) that my hair seems more dry and not as thick. When thinking about it I realized that some techniques I was following back then I stopped doing (pure laziness - LOL) so I'm going BACK to what I was doing. Currently have my hair in a protective style as I'm journeying to grow my hair back out. All that to say, I started searching RU-vid again because I forgot the brand I used to use, which is Henna Sooq, I'm so happy you answered that question in your comments, now I can place my order - LOL! Happy to have come across this video!
Your results are amazing! Usually with black women, the results are very subtle because most of us have really dark or black hair. Are your results (the bright red color throughout your hair) strictly from using Henna on your whole hair multiple times over a period of time or have you dyed your hair in the past? If your results are all from henna applications, did you find that the color change was very faint in the beginning before you started using Henna more regularly and gradually got lighter and redder with each application?
I dyed my hair in the past but my hair is most grey. You can achieve the henna color by leaving it on for hours. When I first started doing henna, I would let the henna sit for 8 hours (overnigjt) and then I would let it sit in my hair for at least 4 hours. The color will be intense and bright. But the brightness tones down after a few days.
@@ANaturalHype thank you, beautiful Stacey, for taking the time to respond! One more question, I know you mix the conditioner into the henna so the hair can be moisturized, but what about the fenugreek and coconut oil mixture? And what is the purpose of Aloe Vera? Thanks!
@@whatmatters00 I only use those because they have many benefits but it's not necessary. Aloe vera helps with the hair and scalp's ph balance. It is also moisturizing. Fenugreek seeds help with hair loss. It also helps with moisture. The most important ingredients, i would say, are conditioner, oil, henna and water.
Hello ma’am, love your result! I recently tried to dye my 4C natural hair with henna but my hair didn’t dye. I was going for the same colour as yours. I didn’t let the mixture sit as I followed the instructions on the box i.e add boiling water and apply when it’s cool. Also, I washed my hair with shampoo after I washed out the henna. Mind you I let the henna sit in my hair overnight but my hair was still black Could it be that it’s mandatory to get the colour transition if you let it sit and don’t wash out with shampoo? Thanks for your advise
It only loosens it temporarily. It doesn't chemically change your hair. The henna that's bonded with your hair is adding weight, which makes the curls appear loose. Your hair well eventually revert when you stop for a while and all the henna is washed out. This would take a while though.
I use a cup of henna, 1/2 cup of conditioner and then use coconut oil and water to get the consistency u want. I dont like mine too watery. Its really messy when its watery.
Thank you so much for doing this video. I love how well you explained the process. My hair is salt and pepper, I’m a little bored with the color so I’ve decided to try henna. I became discouraged when I couldn’t find videos covering grey hairs. I also love your color. Is this the natural henna color or do you add something to get it this color?
@@ANaturalHype Do you mean just henna will give me a reddish brown color on my gray hair. Is their a trick to coloring my white, gray and dark brown hairs the same color and shade??? Thank you for sharing your knowledge❣️
I leave my henna to marinate for about 4-6 hours and I use coffee or black tea to mix the powder. I also wrap my hair in a damp towel, wrap thst with Saran Wrap and create a “steam” conditioning treatment for about 6 hours. 🤷🏾♂️
I watched your video for the first time.. I’m thinking about using the henna hair dye.. first of all you have the most Beautiful hair!! What color did you use to get that beautiful light brown color??
Thank you so much. Authentic henna is bright reddish color. I use authentic henna. Be careful bc there are fake hennas that come in many different colors. Sometimes I purchase the henna that is mixed with Indigo. Indigo is similar to henna but not henna. Be careful with fake henna that come in many colors. I hope this helps.
How long did it take for your hair to get to that color? I just started using henna on my dark brown 3c hair (first henna session got me to a more caramel reddish brown) and hope I can get to a similar shade as yours. It’s beautiful!
thanks for the great video!! 😀 How many henna applications did it take to get that nice color on your hair lengths? or was all that hair originally white hair and thus it easy dyed? Thank you! (Because I had thought it was black hair and with continued use you got this amazing nice light color)
Jamila Henna Lemon Juice and peppermint oil then I go up under a dryer for as long as I can and then I keep it in overnight and rinse at Sunrise ☺️ I do this once a week to grow my afro ..after I rinse I massage my scalp to get the best hair oil EVERRRRR coming ...my sebum 🥰🥰😍🤩... I use my sebum after my henna ... And it's awesome 🫰🏽‼️
Gorgeous hair!! I would really love to see you do a review of Straight Silk Spray Heat Protectant by JuniorLabs. It really makes my hair soft and flowy ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hiya from UK! Can I just ask if it’s the henna which has made your hair so red? Or did you have a lighter colour underneath before? I have used Henna for years; Lush’s Caca Rouge, and I want a rich red like yours. Sadly I can’t buy this brand in the UK :(
@@ANaturalHype thank you for reply :) Aww yeah, my henna goes a bright copper on my grey bits. I love how rich your colour is in the video. Thanks for sharing :)
I haven’t tried heat with the henna. I apply the henna once a month. I let it sit overnight before applying it to my hair. Then I let it sit on my hair for about 4 hours.
No. Authentic henna is only one color. That’s a orange reddish color. The longer you leave it in the deeper the color but it will always be the same orange reddish color.
I started applying the henna to my whole head. But after a couple of applications (2-3), I only apply it to my roots. So for the first week or so my roots are more orangey than the rest of my hair. But if u look at other pictures u will see that eventually it evens out.
i have a question about the color of your hair prior to coloring all your hair length. Was your hair black/dark brown? or were you a lighter color? I love that color but I'm afraid, the color won't come through because my natural hair is too dark. Thanks for your help.
Did you mix your henna with the conditioner ? Or you conditioned after leaving henna to sit cos my henna dried out my hair and I didn’t like the texture
I do both. I mainly add conditioner. Then i add the water just to get the consistency I like. The conditioner and the oil is to keep my hair from drying out.
Thx so much for the informative video. You have soo helped me today. Your hair is beautiful. I have been reviewing your vids n I see u are not using henna anymore. However can you Please advise how much henna you used n then how much conditioner n coconut oil u added to the mixture. I am graying n I love the color you have achieved. IT IS BEAUTIFUL 😍
First, what is your natural hair colour? Second, did you have to bleach your hair to get this colour? I just want to manage my expectations because I really like this shade!
It turns ur hair red. It only comes in one color. So its always reddish. Some people get it confused with henna that is mixed with chemicals. The chemically treated one comes in many different colors. But its also dangerous to use.
@@ANaturalHype There's more than just red, there's black henna and I think there's brown. I like the reddish, but not the orange on the roots. I will probably try the reddish on the hair and brown on the roots
@@coleencokely8135 No. There's only one color all natural henna. The black is Indigo. That's similar to henna, but not henna. Then there is cassia. But that is neutral. There is only one all natural henna (reddish/orangey). Companies make henna in other colors. But those have added chemicals in them.
This summer I put in a box dye but now I'm back to strictly henna. The dye was too harsh for my hair. I did henna for years. Then I colored once using dye, but I'm bk to henna now.
I use more conditioner than oil. So 1 cup of henna, 1/2 cup of conditioner, a few drops of oil. Lastly, I add water until I get the consistency of cake batter.
