Unravel is a multigenerational show of textile artists from all over the world. Well known names such as Tracey Emin, Louise Bourgeois, Magdalena Abakanowicz and Cecilia Vicuña mix with lesser known artists in an inspiring exhibition which sees fabric skilfully used in many different ways. This exhibition is on until 26th May 2024.

It is worth it, I think. I have certainly been guilty of overlooking them myself. Let me know what you think if you do go.

Looks like an amazing exhibition. I am an embroidery artist so this was my jam. I hope they have an exhibition catalog I can purchase . Thanks for sharing.

Really glad you enjoyed it and thank you for watching. I am appreciative of your skills as an embroidery artist more and more. There was a catalogue. It was quite expensive and I only had a brief flick through - it can be found here shop.barbican.org.uk/products/unravel-the-power-and-politics-of-textiles-in-art-exhibition-catalogue

Shame you missed the Pettway quilts, but at least caught the show before the other artists - whose decision I agree with - withdrew their works. Unravel indeed. I found Angela Su's pieces to be the most memorable.

Wait, what? Which other works have now been withdrawn? I have been a bit out of the loop with work and missed that. I was fascinated by Angela Su's works, amongst other pieces. thank you for watching. I am going to put up the review of The Time is Always Now that you recommended at the weekend. A great show. Really enjoyed that one.

@@artgalleryexplorer Dayrit,Brackens,Barrada and Mounira al Solh, who has replaced her work with a letter explaining why. All good works. There was a related demo on Saturday. It is sad for the show, but hopefully it will force change.

@@mattgriffiths7755 Thanks Matt - I hadn't realised at all and am sorry those works are now missing. There must now feel like a lot of holes in the show. I totally respect the rights of the lenders/artists to make that decision though - the fall out from the failure to hold the LRB winter series continues.

Wish I was in London to see this great show, some great work here, I particularly love Tschabalala Self's work...I'm an artist in Australia working with textiles, originally from mixed media painting background, also coming to know how amazing the textile art world/community is.....thanks for this video and your art channel!

Ah, fantastic. Thank you for watching. Is there anywhere we can see your work online? Self's work was compelling.
