I lived in the United States for a few years and used to come home to England to see my mum. When the plane was coming into land at Heathrow and I saw the patchwork of fields, I felt as I I was being wrapped up in a quilt. Glad you are having such a good time with your parents. Oh my Katrina, you cannot imagine how special it was for me to see Chile again, I have tears in my eyes!!! I have lived in South Africa for the past 23 years now. My son was born in Chile, he is now 25 years old. How special to be able to spend time with your parents. If you buy too much fabric, send it to Brazil as un-accompanied luggage a few days before you go home. Not too expensive. Hugs Sally❤

Wow! It’s been a long time! I actually drove past the hospital I was born at in Santiago the other day. I’ve been away since 2009 and the visits there are always feel way too short.

@LiftingPinsandNeedles Yes, a long time indeed. My son has returned to Chile and is learning to speak Castellano. He is very happy and loves the soccer (what Chilean, doesn't?).🏀 I miss him, but there is no future here for him.

I am a Brit living in France but every time the Eurotunnel train comes out onto the British side, it is so exciting. Everything is familiar, the shops, the language, customs etc. I will look forward to seeing what you make with your lovely fabrics. It looked like a lot of fun!

It’s so good to see you so happy! There’s no place like home, especially when it’s filled with favorite fabric stores. Sounds like heaven, looks like heaven. Your dad should give classes for husbands so they can be fun shopping partners. Ha! My own good husband will go anywhere with me but he always finds a way to hang back. I think I’m going to have to talk my husband into a holiday in Chile 😊 Summer holiday, so I can take minimal clothing and have lots of room in my suitcase for fabric 😂 That haberdashery is my idea of heaven. We don’t have a “fabric district” here anymore because all the mills have closed and gone to China and Bangladesh 😢

As much as I love the sewing videos - this was wonderful too, in a different way. I loved seeing you and your Dad shopping - what a wonderful way to spend time together. My Dad would have probably done that with me, the hubby not so much. The shots of the Andes mountains were spectacular and the tour of Chellan was great too. I haven’t travelled much outside the US and definitely not to South America so these glimpses are just so much fun. A work colleague is traveling to Brazil to visit a friend next year, I told her I wanted to go with her to meet you in person…it’s a dream anyway, right now I don’t even have a passport - mine expired. Your fabric haul is beautiful. I like each of them and can’t really choose. I can’t wait to see what you stitch up!

You got such amazing and gorgeous fabric. I love those fabric shops. Chile looks so beautiful. I loved the mountains and the volcano. I live about 9 miles from the coast of Virginia. It is hot & muggy here right now. It does get cold,wet, and chilly here but not as bad as up north. Sometimes we get snow and then sometimes no snow. Last 3 years just a very light dusting. Then before that we got 13 inches. Enjoy the time with your family.

Hi Karina, I can empathise with about freezing weather. In my part of the world (Canberra Australia) it was -6C this morning, all misty and foggy. I’m about 1.5 hours drive from the snow. Loved seeing the fabrics from Santiago. It’s quite likely I will be visiting in January 2026 & possibly Brazil. So apart from seeing the sights, I would love to get some fabric shopping time! Thanks for sharing your lovely holiday with us. The snow looks beautiful, although cold. I really like your new fabric. How nice it must be for your father to go with you. My favourite is always Ponte Roma, but I have noticed recently some of mine wasn't as soft as usual. I really didn't know there were different types. I think I missed which type of Ponte is the softest one. I'll have to re-watch your video. Looking forward to see what you make with it all.
