I have spent the last three years (or so) replacing my older Bibles with large print Bibles. I pay close attention to the size of the print before I make my purchases because my eyes are old and really struggle to continue to read the small print (9 point or less). I also buy the most inexpensive ones I can find because, like you, I have a lot of them! I tend to have a readers Bible along with the Study Bible of the same version. I use the reader to follow along with whatever teacher or pastor I am listening to, and then use the Study Bible to do a deeper dive into the lessons. Because everything is large print now, they are also heavier and heftier, so I also get a bit of a workout too. :)
So true, Carmen! They get so heavy to lug around but you have to be able to SEE the words to read them! I am on the lookout for a narrow pocket size Bible to carry with me in my bag, but the fonts are all too small. Let me know if you come across any since we look for the same thing! 😉
I love these kinds of videos. Does my heart so much good! New subscriber here. Thank you for brightening my day.🥰 btw, as a sister in the Lord I’m so proud of you for sharing your sobriety journey, and faith journey!!
"My Bible COLLECTION"!!!! You only need the original Greek !! Save a fortune. Enjoy the study of Greek- the sacred language of NT. Come home/come home...
You have quite a few bibles some of those I have some I do Not... I am up to over 200 different bibles at this time in various translations...you make No mention of the Zondervan study bibles in any translation Ryrie Scoffield Matthew Henry study bible Spurgeon study bible Henry Morris study bible Open Bible Holman any translation.. Nelson study bible Dake's study bible or any of the Prophecy study bibles. Tony Evans, Grant Jeffries, Tim le Haye,... etc Rock of Ages study bible Reformation study bible Redemption study bible Peter Ruckman study bible Common Man study bible Companion study bible Open bible in any translation... New Defenders study bible Believers study bible Criswell study bible AND several others... are you just Not interested in any of those others?.. or have you Not heard of them yet?...or Not had time to look into them..?.. if you need any info on the Fire Bible.. I can type you some background on it... originally it first was published as :the Full Life".. study bible in 1991...it went out of print around 2004... then was released again as "Life in the Spirit". .and ' "the Spirit Filled Life study bible.. different textual format but same notes.. then it resurfaced as the "Fire Bible"... by Life Publishers and also by Hendricksen Publishers... the Life Publishers version follows the original format closer.. the Hendricksen one has the verses in paragraph format as opposed to the verse by verse format... heavily Pentecostal in it's views.. I realize sometimes funds are limited as well... so I understand if you have not gotten around to buying any of these other editions yet.. I was just curious.. if the bibles you presented... were the only kind of bibles and formats you preferred.... I DO.. like the Crossway ESV study bible../.. I have about 6 of those in different covers... and 1 Large Print..ESV. but my preferred translation is the KJV..
Wow Jeff, what a collection it sounds like you have! I appreciate the list you included in your comment, very helpful. I do have a few that you have listed that I guess I just didn't share...I have the Dake Study and the Tony Evans Study Bible, and a couple cultural background Bibles...I also see a couple you shared that I have on my wish list, and then some I've not yet heard of or checked into. Thank you for the info on the Fire Bible, very helpful. I also have on the way "Fisher's of Men" Bible that was recommended by a friend. I look forward to sharing about it when it arrives next week. :) Thanks again for sharing your collection!
It does have good commentary...more heavy on the Pentecostal side, BUT I enjoy it and learn new perspectives....I hope you enjoy it! Donna, Let me know your take on it when you get it... :)
Oh girl, me tooooo! I watch way too many and then I feel like I might NEED that Bible to add to my already large collection...I have to pray often about not being so greedy, even IF it is God's Word...if you know what I mean ;)
I have been watching a lot of these videos (actually there aren’t enough of them out there 😅) I love them! I love my bibles and it’s so great how we develop a relationship with Jesus AND out bibles lol
The Jesus Bible is one of my top favorites too. You might really enjoy the Abide Bible. It has helped me grow and bloom in our Lord. It has come down in price since I got it. It was gifted to me. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have it. This year I am reading a chronological reading plan. It has made all the difference understanding the OT. I love it! Congratulations on your sober time.🎉 We are sisters in Christ and sisters in sobriety as well. I pray our Lord richly blessed you. Shalom. 💜
Thank you so much Christine! I will look at the Abide Bible 🤓 I am going to a little Christian bookstore today, as a matter of fact, that just opened. I am so exited to go there and touch all the things 😂 I plan on the chronological reading plan next year and am already looking forward to it. I agree, understanding the OT takes Bible study to a whole ‘nother level 🤓 Congratulation on YOUR sober time, blessings for you to continue walking in Truth! Don’t you just feel amazing 🙌🏼 I appreciate your encouraging post!
I love your collection. I have a ridiculous amount of Bibles. Many different versions. I use all of them for different things. My ESV study Bible is my absolute favorite. I also have an ESV interleaved that I do intensive study in. The big problem, like some of yours, the writing is too small.
Thank you, Claire ☺️ I had an interleave and it was gorgeous however the print had me struggling to read, also. I gifted it to a friend and she loves it!
I always joke that I am a Bible collector. I'm not really... I just.... accumulate. LOL You have 3 Bibles I have on my "to buy" eventually. The apologetics, the cultural background, and the chronological. I haven't bought the first 2 yet for the reason you mentioned - I'm afraid they would be redundant with the stuff I'm already doing (videos, commentaries, etc). So I waver back and forth on if I want to spend the money on them. My dream is to find them in a thrift store. haha NASB and ESV are my top translations for the Bible, but like you, I have a bunch of different ones. And what I don't have - I love Bible apps for! :)
I love the way you said that, Jackie...#accumulate lol Out of those 3, I would say the chronological would be first, (mainly because I have never read the Bible in that way and I'm looking forward to doing that next year), then the apologetics (articles and commentary are good) and the cultural last (if at all). I am going to follow your lead, I've not thought of going to a thrift store for a Bible...I just giggled over this ~ I am going to make a list of local ones and just start shopping! The NSAB is one translation I don't have, yet ;)
@@Seasonedwithsalt68 Oh girl!!!! I love thrift store shopping for Bibles and Christian Living type of books. If I were a youtuber, I'd love to make a list of all my books. Instead I keep the list on goodreads. LOL I love my NASB. I think I'd probably prefer the ESV typically BUT when I first really started reading the Bible in high school it was an NASB. So there's that for it. And I really like a couple other things about it. It gets a bit of a bad rap in my opinion. If I were to redo my homemade interleaved I *MIGHT* go with ESV, just because there'd be more choices to choose from. And I'll keep in mind the ranking of the BIbles. That's actually about what I guessed in order of priority. (Sorry - I love to talk Bibles and all things God. I get a little wordy)
@@Seasonedwithsalt68 LOL Does your hubby end up with that eyes glazed over after a while like mine does?? LOL Mine loves Bibles and God but I can be a bit much! Hhaha
Susanna 1:6,15-24 [6]These kept much at Joacim's house: and all that had any suits in law came unto them. [15]And it fell out, as they watched a fit time, she went in as before with two maids only, and she was desirous to wash herself in the garden: for it was hot. [16]And there was no body there save the two elders, that had hid themselves, and watched her. [17]Then she said to her maids, Bring me oil and washing balls, and shut the garden doors, that I may wash me. [18]And they did as she bade them, and shut the garden doors, and went out themselves at privy doors to fetch the things that she had commanded them: but they saw not the elders, because they were hid. [19]Now when the maids were gone forth, the two elders rose up, and ran unto her, saying, [20]Behold, the garden doors are shut, that no man can see us, and we are in love with thee; therefore consent unto us, and lie with us. [21]If thou wilt not, we will bear witness against thee, that a young man was with thee: and therefore thou didst send away thy maids from thee. [22]Then Susanna sighed, and said, I am straitened on every side: for if I do this thing, it is death unto me: and if I do it not I cannot escape your hands. [23]It is better for me to fall into your hands, and not do it, than to sin in the sight of the Lord. [24]With that Susanna cried with a loud voice: and the two elders cried out against her.
Hey Tammy! I do believe this was an ESV translation. I have since gifted it to my daughter since the print was so teeny. I believe it was a 6.5 font 🤔 They do have some beautiful Bibles 😍
@@Seasonedwithsalt68 , I too have many protestant Bibles, but the texts from any Bible come from Catholics. Orthodox or Byzantine means Catholic. Go look
Raised Catholic, am Protestant now. The Orthodox and Byzantine churches have differences in some of their beliefs compared to Roman Catholics. The authors of the Bible were not Catholic, they were apostles, and others of high standing in the 1st century church. The old testament was written by the old testament prophets.
Hey Sammie! It is my favorite Bible to date. It shows Jesus from Genesis to Revelation, and has little commentary notes for each book that I found helpful to see Him. Is that what you're asking? :) I would not hesitate to add it to your collection ANNNND, it now comes in ESV and NIV ANNNND with an artistic cover that is beautiful to boot!
@@Seasonedwithsalt68i just rewatched this video and missed your comment to me before!! I still haven’t gotten the Jesus Bible but still want to! Im also interested in that cultural study Bible.
You're so welcome! Thanks for checking out my collection...you'll need to let me know how you like it (Fire Bible)...I've only read a little of the commentary, but I haven't used it daily, so I'd be curious :)
I love your enthusiasm for God's Word. I also have the pretty pink KJV & the large print ESV Study Bible. Small print is a bugbear for me. When Im interested in a Bible, I usually bring up the description on Amazon, or Google- What is the font size of the ... Bible? God bless from Australia.
Welcome Claire ~ So happy you're here! Yes, I've learned from experience to dig a little deeper for that font info...lol! It makes such a difference ;) I appreciate your encouragement! Thank YOU!
Thanks for sharing…love all your bible I have them all 🤦🏾♀️ it a real addiction… the Fire bible is awesome it the notes for me…I have it in the ESV large print it’s huge but I love studying with it… God bless
A particularly good apologetics bible, in my experience, is the Fisher of Men Bible. I wish they had it in the KJV, though - last I checked the English version was CSB-only (that probably won't be an issue for you though).
You are so welcome, Rachel! I enjoy watching these as well...SOOOO many Bibles out there and I love seeing what other folks have. Thank you for watching!
Rhonda, I just came across your channel. Such a blessing! 😃❤️ I, too, came back full force for Our Lord, Jesus Christ, after an accident. I surrendered and recommitted my life to The Lord once again! In all that, I’m fine through the grace of God and have decided to wake up faithfully( trying 🙏) to do a Bible Study which I’ve so grown more in my faith more than ever! Anyway, I will continue to watch your channel! 😊 Blessings to you and all my brothers and sisters in Christ! 🙏❤️ I have the ESV for my study Bible…which I absolutely love. But, I still use my old, first time NIV Bible, only bc I have so many notes in it. And, I, too, use the NJKV for a true fact of the Word of God.
I have the MEV Spiritual Warfare Bible, which I think may be out of print. I am curious if it is the precursor to the fire Bible... I would like a Fire Bible, but i already have so many that i don't want to spend a lot on another Bible, and the font in the inexpensive soft cover is way too small for me at 8 point.
I hear you, Kristy 🤣 The small print gets me every time…and I DO have glasses 🤓 I also think the Spiritual Warfare Bible is out of print because a friend was trying to gift me one but they ended up refunding her money as they were no longer able to offer it. You may be right, tho about it being like the Fire Bible 🤔
Nice collection! I also like to purchase different Bibles for their unique study notes. I’ve also started replacing some of my Bible work large print Bibles. I don’t have the Fire Bible, but I love my Spirit-Filled Life Bible. TFS! 🤗
Thank YOU! I've since added 3 more Bibles...oh my goodness! smh ~ lol We The People Bible (there's a short review on my channel) The Life Counsel ~ CSB translation Life Application Bible ~ NLT large print (IT IS HUGEEEE!) lol
Me too, Rainey (LOVE your name btw). I am definitely a Bible collector, and can you believe I still have some I would love to add but am taking a "break" from buying them...the Word is the same, but ohhhh, the covers catch my eye! ;)
My bible is a KJV Center Column Reference Bible by Thomas Nelson in two-toned Leathersoft. I got it for my birthday back in May. It's a great, very flexible bible. It has several features like "About the Bible": "How to Study the Bible"; "Getting to Know God"; "Between the Testaments"; "The History of the Red Letter Bible"; "30 Days of Getting to Know God" and "30 Days of Getting to Know Jesus". Plus it has several pages of lined note taking paper at the end.
The Fire Bible is wonderful. It was written by the Assembly of God for their people to learn to witness to the lost. I am Pentecostal and I had this Bible when I first got saved and it taught me so much. I later gave it to a new convert and am now thinking of getting another one. My favorite Bible is the Dake NKJV Study Bible. I have about 20 or so different Bibles. Most are the NASB, ESV, NKJV, CSB and the KJV.
Thank you for your input on the Fire Bible. I have pulled it out several times and read comparison commentary. I do like it. I also have the BIG Dake in the KJV, I forgot to pull that bad boy out! lol It is HUGE but I do refer to it also fairly often. I love all my Bibles and each one calls me for different references. I don't think one can have too many, right lol
Thank you for watching...LOVE your channel name! I've seen the Quest Study Bible on some other channels, I hope you enjoy it, I hear it's really good. I've yet to get in the SRT Bible, but I do have plans for it in the near future.
I’m looking forward to reading chronologically 2024…it should prove interesting to align all the events 🤓 Have you read it in chronological order, @viderawashington? If so, did you find it hard to follow?
Love this Video! 🌺 The Fire Bible is awesome, and if you love the ESV Translation, you should pick up the Fire Bible (ESV). I have both the MEV and ESV Fire Bibles in hardcover. The font is larger in the ESV Translation. Your Collection is wonderful. You can never go wrong collecting Bibles. NEW Subscriber! 🌄
@@Seasonedwithsalt68 so glad you like your Fire Bible. I'm going to jump into mine this week for Studies. Looking forward to hearing more from you on some of your Studies. 🌺
How is the literal font size on the ESV study Bible? Is it easy to read literally? My friend gave me a John McArthur study Bible but the print size is so small. It’s literally hard for me to read. I’m looking for an ESV large print journaling Bible. The leaf Bible looks good.
The leaf Bible is a larger font and definitely makes a huge difference to me. I’ll share the link and you can read more about it. And I will say I like the cream colored pages now that I’ve been in this Bible. The understanding of the ESV is pretty easy to read and comprehend, in my opinion. However, I do love to have my commentary along side to take my shallow reading deeper in some of the passages. 🤓
This is the first time I’ve seen one of your video’s. I, as you and many others, am sucked in by a bible that can offer me something different that I believe I “need” at the moment. I love your collection and the way you spoke your heart over each one. For me, my bibles become journals of my journeys with very personal notes and prayers. I do become overwhelmed by the sheer volume of them and have to sort myself out on which one to choose for a particular study, church, reading, etc. Mercy 😅 I’m going to check out your channel now. Thanks for making this video, it has inspired me. Oh…I opened up a bible once at B&N and the pages were very yellow/creamy and my son said Eww mom, something peed on that one look at the color of the pages. It was exactly what I thought too. 😂
Hahaha! That is too funny! It HAS taken me this year working and reading my creme paged Bible to come to love it but it takes pen and highlighters so well, I don't know if I can go back to white pages! Thank you for watching my video and commenting! I appreciate you sharing and WELCOME to my channel ~ I hope you decide to stick around :)
*All of them were magically changed into the UNholy word of the Antichrist but 99+% of all who think they're saved have no idea anything's different! Read Amos **8:11** then type in (proof of bible change residue junkie) AND BRACE YOURSELF!!!* *Or just ignore this and let Jesus explain it to you at the Gate before sending you all on your way...*
Oh me again... I meant to say that I had bought an ESV journaling bible iwith the lines on the side, and within about a year I got OLD and my eyes took a nosedive. :( My latest purchase was a NASB super giant print. The bible is a beast in size. But because I'm a HEAVY notetaker, I am gluing paper in between each page to make my own interleaved edition. Now I just have to get it rebound by someone that can fix my binding issues with it. LOL
Hey Jackie! That is not a bad problem to have! A worn Bible is a used and loved one...do you follow "How to Faith A Life"? She is a good one to follow and she too has a super duper loved Bible (CHUUUUNKY) she just had re-binded and covered...she used a company on IG...let me see if I can find their link... crewandco.com ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BrZUjVQKo4o.html ~ This is her video about it!
@@Seasonedwithsalt68 I LOVE her BIble!!!! I am actually hoping to get mine rebound for my birthday in August, and will reach out to Crew and Co closer to then. I asked Faith recently how the rebind has been holding up and she said great.
Hey Tammy! I do believe I found these on Etsy! Bible tabs are so hard to decide on lol I will see if I can locate the shop and also check Amazon…in case I found them there…brb
I have a large collection too! It’s think it’s great having multiple translations. It helps me have a broader understanding. I use a white gel pen and write the years on the spine so I’ll always know at a glance when I retired it. I just ordered the Bible Recap yesterday! I’m excited to start going thru it.
I agree! I enjoy actually having the Bible in hand when I want to look at other translations. I have the Bible app but it’s something about the Bible in hand that just feels different. I don’t know if you follow Candance Burre’s podcast but she had TaraLeigh as her guest the whole first season and she goes over the Bible Recap and the Trinity. So much goodness in that. She is currently starting to release the second season and she has a new guest. I think you would enjoy listening ☺️
@@Seasonedwithsalt68 yes! I did listen to season 1 (well most of it 😂) I heard about the Bible recap from Faith and Flour last year or so but I then forgot about it until I listened to the podcast!
Multiple translations can be a mixed blessing, honestly, depending how well-grounded you are in the faith. I have probably a dozen different English translations and several non-English translations (mostly Spanish), though I usually stick to the KJV for English and the NBLA for Spanish.
@@fnjesusfreak I totally agree. I, for one, don’t even consider The Message a translation for example. I always look into the translators and editors backgrounds and education also. You can’t be too careful because there are false teachers everywhere.
Hey Barb! Thanks for watching :) I usually spend about an hour in the morning between my Daily Reader Bible (the Change Your Life Study Edition, NLT) it has an OT, NT, Psalm and Proverb for every day and is dated, and I usually have a devotional or a workbook study I also read and answer the questions. I enjoy the Daily Grace Co Bible Studies. They are thorough, yet short and sweet. Then I do listen and watch different preachers on YT, listen to podcasts, read before bed, etc...I am always IN God's Word all day long in some way or form...even if it's just me talking to Him as I work throughout the day. Hope this helps, if not, let me know!
@@Seasonedwithsalt68*Too bad you didn't study it before God gave the Antichrist power to change it into his UNholy word. My 64 year old eyes are starting to struggle with small print and even though I too have 15+ Bibles I am starting to purchase and request large print bibles. I just got two for my birthday and they are perfect. My children have given me more than half of the ones I have for special occasions, I’ll just ask for large print ones going forward 😊
I knowwww! It's awful when your arms are no longer, long enough and you HAVE to rely on your glasses...all the time! lol I am finding out that making sure I have my glasses and case is just as important (if not more) than making sure I have my phone when I leave the house...lol And now when I'm browsing Bibles, the FIRST thing I do is check the font before I even entertain the idea of "add to cart" as an option! Thank you, Mrsg for watching! I hope you'll be back :)
