@@CarefulWithThatAxeEugene bullshit, it was fantastic. If you want the original you play the CD. But it would be disrespectful to actually try and cover it exactly because; a) the original is perfect as is and its impossible to even come close. b) Satch is a brilliant guitarist and it would be seen as showing off to exactly copy it. c) if you can play the original any time you want then having something different yet close enough as to not "ruin" the song would have to be the goal here. They all played exceptional well and Satch nailed the solo.... hitting all the right notes, not showing off and doing it on an acoustic no less. So in conclusion, whilst I accept and respect your point of view, I totally disagree with it.... cheers.

Joe played it wonderfully on the acoustic, and AT an event called ACOUSTIC-4-A-Cure... It's not supposed to be electric. Accept that this rag tag band of Hall of Fame enshrinees Opened their performance with one of the greatest songs ever written, they didn't re-arrange it, they simply played it. There is a time and place for "authenticity" but for these guys (and gal) to set egos aside and do what they do for the benefit of others (sick children) should be respected.

Wow! Obvious you never saw Pink Floyd perform it back in 1980. They sounded terrible, especially compared to today's standards. I saw Brit Floyd reproduce it last year. A must see for any Pink Floyd fans. Of course Brit Floyd had more players and more electricity involved. Back to this video--I thought this was a good acoustic version.

Lowell Calavera yeah good idea... I have been feeling tired lately. Thanks Dad! Lol. But I have to admit that you have a good point about it being live music. I’ve always said that any live music is good, no matter what the genre or type of music. But the main kinda reason behind my comment, is that on that stage is a group of people who are all incredibly good musicians... and I am a big fan of most of them, but only on an individual basis. I’ve always loved Nancy Wilson, Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony. However, together as a musical group they don’t sound very good at all to me, that’s all.

Considering they probably hardly rehearsed and just did the song it was pretty cool. They weren’t trying to do a studio recording.
