Fun fact: Tobey Maguire was going to be replaced in Spider-Man 2 by a Mr. Michael Joseph Jackson, but this was later abandoned, due to him always yelling ‘Woo’ every time he swung a web.
My favorite comic book actor was Henry Cavil's upper lip which was later replaced by a cgi monstrosity that haunts my nightmares to this day, and I simply mustache why
Because the original actor pretty much refused to do another film as Red Skull (I do not know his reasoning). Apparently they wanted to use him again before Infinity War but couldn’t
If you look close you'll notice that modern day Peter Quill is actually not played by the actor who played him at the beginning of the first Guardians movie, when he was like eight. The young actor was actually replaced by Chris Pratt due to suspected creative differences with James Gunn, the director, and was therefore replaced mid-film. You have to look quite close to notice however, and so I understand how you guys missed it.
Katie Holmes dropped out because she wanted to be in a film with Queen Latifa, the movie bombed and she said she regretted not doing the dark knight lmao
Well, if she was there, at least that joker quote "hello beautiful" would make more sense. To think that 2 guys like Christian Bale and Aaron Eckhart, how they were "disputing" for the love of such an ugly woman.. It's easier to believe that Batman exists in real life compared with this
It's just honesty man, lol Usually the love interest in hollywood is depicted by a pretty woman, Holmes can play this role. But Maggie is really ugly, no reason to sugar coat that.
In the end, that ugly actress... forgot her name, the sister of Donnie Darko, lol she also didn't performed in any other super popular movie after the dark knight. The character of Rachel is not "huge" like some people think. One legit huge character is war-machine, the former actor really fucked things up, lol regardless if the character is mainstream or not, war-machine is always there in the MCU. He would have guaranteed money for years and years. Same goes for everyone in the DCEU, who will mostly be terminated in the very near future.. the DCEU had the potential to extend itself for years, but it didn't worked, sadly.
Wasn't Terrance Howard replaced because he was the first actor signed onto Iron-Man and was the highest paid for it, and when the movie went on to become the monster hit that relaunched Robert Downey Jnr into our hearts and minds, Terrence Howard demanded he be paid as handsomely for the sequel, but everyone laughed him out of town, and then went and gave hugs and kisses to Robert Downey Jnr, instantly forgetting his past filled with drugs and hookers. Playing hardball can work for negotiating movie contracts [Henry Cavill], but it didn't pay off for Howard, so to speak.
Apparently Terrence Howard got paid 1.5 times what RDJ got, and when the first film got big and RDJ got a pay rise, he wanted to keep at 1.5 times what RDJ got, just like it was in the first film. He got told no.
Yeah, when they raised RDJ's fee to around $30mil per film, he wanted $45mil to keep at 150% of it. Don Cheadle realises he is a back-up character and not the main star so he does it for like $5mil and free tacos or something.
RE: DARKMAN 2 and 3, they were filmed and intended as "Die Darkman Die" as Part 2 and "The Return Of Durant" as 3, but they swapped them at the last minute before release. ;-)
This was the video that made me fall in love with Mr. Sunday Movies and The Weekly Planet. I've been looking for it for years. Was it the witty banter or needy content? Nope. It was the Craig David references that no one else in my life would understand.
My favourite part of the Darkman recasting is that they completely reshot the transformation sequence in the exact same way for flash back in the sequel, but with significantly less Liam Neeson.
To your credit, The Return of Durant was originally supposed to be the third Darkman movie, but for some reason they decided to make it as the second one instead
7:35 ..i didn’t notice for years because i was too young and didn’t follow along too closely - rewatching all the films over the past couple years as a much older viewer; there’s so much more i notice
I don’t really mind the make up tbh. He’s got the purple coat, orange vest, the white makeup and green hair, what’s a few spots of blue and red gonna hurt? The added features on this Joker certainly look better than the ones they gave to Leto’s.
Colin forever That could be the case, but I still think that this is a nice look for the Joker. It looks like a combo of past live action Joker’s with a bit of its own flare
Hey guys, I absolutely love your videos and your Weekly Planet podcast. I've noticed that some of your videos are really really quiet though. Like the sound mixing seems really weird? Perfect other than that though
Honestly, both he and Leto doesn't look that good... but who knows. It's curious how Warner can't make this character looks right... Ledger nailed the visuals, but now we have these 2, lol current technology, makeup techniques, etc.. and we have a rapper and a goon
After having been aware of Billy Dee Williams playing Harvey Dent, I have just cottoned on to the connection of Lando being a double-(two, get it?)crosser in empire strikes back.
If The Joker Origin movie is good then i bet that the Matt Reeves Batman movie will be in the same universe. And then they can do a Crisis or a Flashpoint to spice the universes together.
I'd heard that Dougray Scott broke his arm while filming a bike stunt on MI2, and that's why he got replaced by Hugh Jackman a little over a week before X-Men started filming.
He was an absolute BEAST in ‘You Were Never Really Here.’ He’s also one of those rare actors who can go from quiet & weird into a brutal rage at the drop of a hat. Can’t wait to see this film to be honest.
The voice actor for Donatello was replaced in TMNT 2: Secret of the Ooze. And then re-replaced by the original voice actor in TMNT 3: Rise of the Machines. Or whatever that subtitle was...
This video was surprisingly hilarious. I've watched a bunch of videos from this channel and just realized I'm not subscribed so I'm fixing that right... now.
I think they're making these alternate universe versions because they want to use Flashpoint to just introduce whatever works, but if the non canon movies don't make money they won't incorporate them into the DCEU. It's hedging their bets cos they're so committed
Howard Anthony, the actor who played Alan Jackson in Eastenders, was apparently packed and a day or two from flying out to start filming the Phantom Menace so he could get ready, having gone through training, and months of the audition process and everything, but about a week before his scenes were due to shoot Samuel L Jackson rang Lucas and asked to be in Star Wars, so Lucas put the phone down after speaking to Sam, picked it up and rang Howard Anthony, and fired him from his role as Mace Windu on the spot, by phone, to replace him with someone more famous.
7:25 i was too young and not taking in enough of the plot-lines, other than purely enjoying the action, to notice that they were the same character and that the actor had been changed
You are my favorite channel to get commentary from. You are literally the meaning of everyday comedy to me. Also you don’t hate when they cast someone as a hero and they’re a different race. God damn Comic book conservatives, GO BACK TO 60s! BOOGERLIPS. Anyway you’re great. 🎃
It wasn't a replacement. Was Heath Ledger a replacement for Jack Nicholson? The Suicide Squad film and the upcoming Joker film are from two different continuities, the implication in the thumbnail is that they casted Joaquin Phoenix because Jared Leto was bad in his role when that couldn't be farther from the case.
I know it's not realistic, but some people have pointed out time wise Leto could infact be Joker Jr and his Dad is Pheonix. On-top of that Leto does resemble Joker Jr. But I doubt it (unfortunately).
I thought you would've mentioned Red Skull since Hugo Weaving isn't playing him anymore and I wouldn't be surprised if he shows up again. Marvel doesn't have keep bringing in new villains. After Infinity War they need to bring back some old villain who are still alive in the MCU (Red Skull, Abomination, The Leader, Mandarin, somehow bring back Arnim Zola and there's probably a few more)
There was this one time, I got a super computer stuck in my brain, they sent Arnold Vosloo after me to get it back. When cornered he took a cyanide pill and died only to later emerge from a body bag with a wide mouth making demands. Luckily I was saved by a predator drone.
