@@ZaimGamePlayMiniature giant space hamsters are telepathic. Also if he is a miniature giant space hamster he’d be a monstrosity, not a beast meaning speak with animals wouldn’t work. Basically this makes it so Boo chooses who he wishes to speak to. Also it’s a joke meant to make you question whether Boo is a miniature giant space hamster or Minsc is just really stupid due to his head injury.

@@ZaimGamePlay That's because Miniature Giant Space Hamsters aren't animals. They're sentient beings with their own language. Theoretically, a Comprehend Languages spell is what you'd actually want to use, or perhaps Tongues.

@@ZaimGamePlay I would say that since SWA doesn't work on Boo, that it is now cannon that he isn't a natural hamster. Being able to just yeet him as a scout enforces this now established truth. He could be a sentient and telepathic miniature giant space hamster or he could be some other, still to be revealed, hyperpowerful being using or inflicted by a polymorph / shape change. It's still DnD, so options are still wide for future revelations.

No, Boo is not a hamster, he is miniature giant space hamster. Giant space hamster were originally greated by gnomes to power their spelljamming vessels. They also serve as beasts of burden, general livestock and even pets (but only the minitaure variant). The gnomes did not know that the minitaure giant space hamster are much more intelligent than an ordinary giant space hamster (or even normal hamster) and also telepathic, and thus no ordinary beast.

Minsc and Boo had been turned to stone for 100 years or so (hence the "Stone Lord" nickname and the fact that Minsc is still alive and in his prime). Besides: Boo is a Forgotten Realms hamster.. maybe those have much longer lifespans than Earth-hamsters, even without being magical and/or of the miniature giant space-variety?

@@fjalarhenriksson Pretty sure Tav is the default name of the character in the character creation process for a custom character. Which is why everyone uses it as the name of a customer character protag. Not a trend.

Because she is pragmatic druid and rescuing Minsc does nothing to defeat the Absolute. If you talk to her while using Halsin in Act 2 she states that, while they are both druids, she is not there to save the Shadowlands but rather to defeat the Absolute threat, and that nothing else matters. She even says that, as a druid, she might be not be acting the way Halsin expects, but that she does not have the resources to worry about anything else but the destruction of the cult. The same thing applies to the rescue of Minsc: it does nothing to defeat the Elder Brain and the Absolute cult, yet, she is grateful that you didnt follow her way of thinking.

Of course. She knows that saving Minsc and stretching the Emperor's resources further by protecting him is a net drain on their ability to oppose the Absolute. But she really cares about him regardless and is glad that you were less pragmatic.

I think you're not wrong. In my playthrough, when I got to meet him, without her stopping him he just attacked me after shouting "you killed her", and he hard died even if I toggled non lethal damage.

I mean you can build him however you like. He's a reoccurring character in the BG series and a fan favorite. In fact if you bring him and Jaheira on certain quests they'll add some context from their own adventures. Plus if you don't rescue Minsc how could you ever get the best party member? Boo.
