I am considering buying the Liberty 43, but just finished watching a review video that showed all the weight from the battery, engine, and belts on the left side, results in an uneven cut between the left and right side of the unit. The reviewer had to buy a magnetic 5 kilo counterweight to place on the right side of the unit for a more even cut. Can you comment on this weight discrepancy between the right side and left side of the unit, and any uneven height of cut between the two sides?

Didn't say "a bit more." First he said the 43 is "more expensive," then said the 35 is 70% of the 43 cost.

Thank you and most informative. I think you ought to consider in future product development to upgrade the 'height of cut' for the Liberty 35 to make it more compatible with your other 14inch machine attachments. You might find that the battery takes over from the petrol motors. I love your products, my lawn is just over 150m square and I can't decide whether the 43 is too big for my lawn. I like the idea of having the attachment rollers that will improve the condition of the lawn.

Great video! I took delivery of my Liberty 35 last month. Fantastic bit of kit and is definitely quieter than a petrol mower and the cutting quality is outstanding as you'd expect from Allett. The only thing I've had to do is adjust the blade cassette so that it cut a sheet of paper consistently across the length of the cutting edge - very easy to do. The only thing to be mindful of is the overall mower weight - as mentioned the Liberty 35 is ~26.5KG and I can just about manage to carry the mower around the side of our house to the back garden, as I simply don't want to use the rear roller as a 'caster' - it'll get scratched and will eventually rust. So if you're looking at getting the Liberty 43, which comes in at 38.5KG, just ensure you're able to carry it if needed! Other than that, I would recommend these mowers over anything else on the market for home use, thanks guys!

Does the 43 and petrol units come as just a push, dont really need self propelled. Does the battery unit cut as good as a 17 inch petro one, and what difference would be in the striping as the petrol is heavier ?

This was helpful. Before watching, I had the 35 ready to purchase, but instead will definitely go for the 43, because of the ability to change various cartridges and better striping.

Yes you have the incremental height of cut change which gives you great precision and a fitted grass rake also... e the front roller is steel too and the rear roller is split with differential which helps to stop scuffing when turning Well worth the step up

Love th the 43 for one thing it is made here rather than in China but for how long. The one disadvantage against the usual cordless mower is the amount of moving parts and hence the cost of servicing but I am thinking hard about it. I also want to know the return policy and the warranty period and what is covered by the warranty. I imagine that mulching is possible. Thank you.

Hi We don’t plan on making our mowers anywhere but in Britain! We are very proud of our British heritage and we will do everything possible to keep costs down to our customers There’s not much servicing involved in a battery mower much less than a petrol mower. We don’t advise mulching. We advise collecting grass at all times and undertaking regular lawn maintenance with our cartridges Warranty on a liberty 43 is 2 years. You can find this on our website on the product pages

Wish they offered a wider cut than 43. I wish they had like a 21"/54cm cut. Plus, its way too expensive for a 17" cut for US residential lawns. Someone with 5 or 6000 sq ft can't utilize a 17" cut width without it taking FOREVER to mow the lawn. They make residential 30"/76mm wide cutting rotary mowers in the US for a reason. The 34" C34 from Allet is not a residential mower and is absurdly expensive for a homeowner. Definitely a professional/commerical grade mower.
@ALLETTMOWERSUK
@ALLETTMOWERSUK 3 года назад
Hi Mark we plan to convert all sizes eventually to battery power- we went for the 12,14 and 17'' first to test the water. Unfortunately we can't make the Professional machines any cheaper. They are well built british made products and do try and keep them competitively priced. We understand are mowers aren't cheap- we are constantly striving to drive down our production costs to deliver better value. We make all our mowers right here in Britain with British made materials and haven't moved our factory to China like most of our competitors. We hope you see the value in this.

@@ALLETTMOWERSUK I am a mechanical product development engineer working in the lawn/garden care industry (not in the mowers business) and I understand mfg. costs and I do appreciate your quality mowers and your very cool cartridge systems. I just need a wider electric reel/cylinder mower than 17". When you get some wider mowers more suitable to your US market, I'd love to be an alpha or beta tester to help diagnose issues and offer advice for improvement before you launch production. I know you already have teams that do this stuff, but an unbias perspective and input from someone who also develops mechanical products could be helpful for you.

I have a Qualcast classic petrol 35, and was adjusting the engine speed, and went past my mum and she complained about what I was doing, and that it was noisy and smelly 😷💨 and I said that there are battery electric ones that are now replacing the petrol ones, and if it has a catastrophic failure - with the engine/structural, then I will replace it with an electric one - referring to the liberty 35 in this case, as we already have the blade and scarifier cassettes. Wouldn’t it be great if you [Allett] had a petrol mower scrappage scheme - that if someone felt bad with petrol pollution/it had catastrophically failed and wanted to replace it with a electric mower, you could collect it and scrap it and reduce the price of one of your electric mowers in exchange. The government was doing that with petrol/diesel cars, and it is unfortunate that such a scheme doesn’t exist at the moment 🙁

@@ALLETTMOWERSUK 😀 - we do have 2 lawn mowers; the Qualcast cylinder blade - that is not our main mower (inherited from my auntie when she demolished the garage and rebuilt a granny annexe in its place, and wasn’t strong enough to pull the starter/push it) and a petrol rotary blade - given to us by our neighbour, she asked me to cut her grass - me and dad lifted out a fence panel and I went into her garden and used the rotary blade on her lawn and then took it across on our lawn = found it more easier to use, and she said, they were moving house to an upstairs maisonette = no access to the garden, “help your selfs to the shed, and take the mower if you like it - I won’t be able to use them” and I did 🙂. Both are still working, but; as I commented in another of your videos, the grass box on the Qualcast keeps on popping off the cradle, the B&Q power performance branded rotary blade has a problem with its carburettor - it will only start on choke and then stall, assuming one of the jets is blocked. Despite those, I will not replace them,
