Comparison: Cube Shell and Cubeamajig

One of the eternal struggles of owning a cube is when and how to create randomized packs, and in particular, how to store them. Cardamajigs has offered us a solution to the problem, and now Dragon Shield has jumped on the bandwagon as well.
We’ll take a deep dive into the various similarities and differences in these products, including what fits inside them, and what they fit easily into.

Cubeamajigs hold about:
35 mini dice
38 unsleeved cards
20 single sleeve
16 double sleeve
Cube Shells hold about:
35 mini dice
40 unsleeved cards
22 single sleeve
18 double sleeve
I found that Cubeamajigs fit into a variety of boxes, while the DS Cube Shell does not fit into the KMC 1000 box. It does, however, slide nicely into the Quiver and the Dex Protection Supreme Game Chest.

Love the video! Very informative. I learned I may need to crease my Cubeamajigs better because the bottom flap is rather flappy on mine. Will put the knowledge to use. Thanks JJ!

Thank you, I'm so glad you liked it! I can't recall where I saw/heard it, but the jigs definitely need some extra creasing on the edges to lay flat. But once you do, it's soooooo gratifying the way they are nice and tight.

Thanks so much for the in-depth review. I bought into the Cubamajig system when it arrived on the market, but I have high regard for Dragon Shield products and was curious to see how they stack up. I appreciate your comparison!

Thanks for watching, I'm glad it was helpful! I definitely like both products, but I think if I was investing I would get the Cubeamajigs - mostly for the art options.

Yeah I think that's the biggest thing that the Cubeamajigs have going for them that can't be beat. There's SO MUCH good art available.

Great review and really helped me to decide what to get for my Jumpstart display. You test it with double sleeved, without and pure so it really helped

Excellent, excellent comparison, i especially appreciate your test of wet and dry erase markers, great thinking. I think Dragon Shield really crushed it with this product, and I’m going to pick up a bunch for my jumpstart packs.

Tip for removing the ‘cube’ in dry erase…Overwrite the wording with the wet erase and remove with a wet cloth as you did the wet erase star

I am super curious about how many dragon shield cube shells fit into the dex protection supreme game chest. How many do you think it could hold? Thanks for the sweet video!

I can get almost 50 Dragon Shield into the Supreme Chest. There’s 3 compartments across the top and 1 big one below. In order top left across its 5, 13, 5, then 26 bottom. Might be able to squeeze one more in the center top.

how many double sleeved cards fit inside of your supreme chest if you dont mind me asking? i have a 360 cube and a 525 cube but with lands and tokens its much more

Been using the cubamajigs for some time and my only complaint is that they can hold exactly 18 double sleeved cards (if you really try) but I do a commander cube which ideally would have 20 double sleeved cards in a pack. Haven't been able to find a product that can comfortably accommodate 20 double sleeved cards yet :(

I got 18 into the Dragon Shell, and if you are getting 18 into the Jig, you might find that 20 is fine in the Shell. Also going to try to review the Burger Tokens shell at some point, but haven't heard back from them, yet.

@@jjthemancub58 Right on yeah I just ordered the shell ones because I like they way they seal. The cubamajigs admittedly at times are a little frustrating to get open if you seal them all the way and the plastic attracts scratches pretty quickly lol. I'll check the burger ones out!

Don't the dragon shields have slightly different art depending on the color you purchase? You say in the review that they only have one art option

Wow, you're 100% right, I didn't even notice that! I'll pin this comment and hopefully anyone curious will see. It's still a very limited choice of art, in that if you really want a given color you're still stuck with only the art on that color, but it's a good point, thanks for catching that.

Awsome review, the 480p shaky cam makes it a bit hard to watch.

Thanks! I love my Razor Kiyo, but it has some very ... aggressive ... auto-focus features. Most of the shakiness came from that, though I did jostle the camera mount a couple times by accident.

How many CubeAMajigs fit in the quiver?

Great question! I was able to fit 30 in my Quiver, with two caveats. First, the packs were empty at the time (I was actually able to squeeze in a 31st, but it was too tight for my liking). Second, that was also with none of the Quiver dividers in.

@@jeffreyrichey6039 The perfect number, right? Yeah you should be able to fit 24 plus some lands and stuff, though that might still be on the tight side.
