I think he was too lazy to put in trailing decimal places or didn't wanna use fractions. It should be 1⅓x boost. 2 ÷ 1.5 = 1⅓

@@pketr5 It could be that. They do round off some other stuff, though I think that's mostly to avoid using fractions in text. I was assuming it was a late balance adjustment, or even a technical adjustment having it be multiplicative instead of additive but might just be rounding. I always wonder how much the legacy of the battle system affects how they add new things to it. Must be a complicated bit of coding to keep STAB for types after Terastiliztion, even without the type being used for defensive calculations, etc. I think too much about this stuff... I was a bit surprised that those classes had anything useful, but I can see it making lots of newer or casual players curious about the more intricate battle stuff.

I would categorize this as a subtype of utility tera. Allowing you to essentially control what can counter you is super useful and I agree it was something Ray should have covered
