Normally, I don't watch a video like this. I take pictures with mein I Ph oon before disassembly. That always works. This video helped a lot. I got an old 74 Mercury police car and the engine is at the machinists. The original carb was long gone, but an Edelbrock (Carter before 1988) carb in the trunk with the bees nests and rattle snakes. It was gummed up. I did like always and took the gummed up throttle shafts apart and cleaned them well and had to emery cloth a bit. When I was reassembling, no matter what they wouldn't open. The pictures match, but it always locks up at 20% throttle. I watched this video (at a point) and noticed the throttles open in opposite directions, so I took the blades out and put it together, making sure they would open opposite directions, and they worked fine. I got my parapharnelia all lined up and buckled it down and I'm sure this explains why they didn't open when I got it out of the trunk. Someone put it together wrong and me taking pictures before disassembly gave led me on a goose chase. Thanks for making this!
@@KaseyDoesThings I was really stumped> I don't rebuild carbs every day like I used to, so I took pictures with my phone before I took it apart, and when I reassembled it, I went by the before pictures. The parts I took out of the carb looked new. Someone rebuilt it and put it together wrong, that's obvious now. They must have put it on the car and couldn't get it to work, then gave up. After watching your video a few times it caught my eye that your throttle blades open the opposite directions and mine would try to open the same way then bind. That's what got me. Once I re-clocked them all was good. I had forgot that they opened opposite directions, but now I do remember the Carters did and that's what these are. Thanks again!
Good video bro but im having a hard time getting that tensión spring un place can you send me a video in slow motion it when Kind of fast and i cantcatch it, thanks
@@KaseyDoesThings - it was my wife’s idea. She saw me working on some valve springs. Gave me one of her 7”x 9” metal cake pans to put them in to spray with cleaner (have 3” sides).
