I grew up with a pool table. Making up new games is very fun! Y'all could call it: "Mind The Gap" ! Ha!! 🤪 And hey, that specialty shot of jumping the gap would turn into a REAL party skill later on!!
Really appreciate Becky’s decency and good heart - worrying about the pool table movers rather than ranting about how they ruined her pool table. More people like Becky in this world please! (And with Becky’s creativity, humor, and decorative/DIY skills).
@@hllymchll in the UK at least, the experts (the movers) are required to assess the safety before completing the task. If insufficient training was given to do that the company would be liable. They could have asked for the stairs to be swept etc. Or said they needed dry conditions. However most normal people accept that when access is difficult, accidents happen. Most firms will be insured for this or specify in contract or verbally that they do not accept liability prior. I have heard strange precedents from the US but I imagine Canada is more like here in its laws.
I love how the shelves/art/guitars on the wall turned out! It looks like you hung everything perfectly- I can only imagine the amount of measuring that took 😂
Midway of the video I couldn’t help but admire how beautiful Becky is especially with her naturally curly hair. Her demeanor is so warm and positive and it’s a joy to watch. Still obsessed with this new space and all the character it already has (ex. The wavy wood backing on the wall!!).
The look on Austin’s face when he saw the pool table warmed my heart! He was so surprised and happy even if it wasn’t complete. It may not have been perfect but the sentiment was! The room looks awesome!
Just gotta say, I love that you guys put dates on your videos- it helps me keep in mind that these things are supposed to take time, and it is worth the wait vs the rushing to 'finish' something ❣️❣️
Becky and Austin are so sweet. They are such a cute couple. She was so sad over not having it ready for him and Austin was so happy that she thought about him and the rest was coming. I just want to give them both a hug. They are so precious and you can really tell how much they love each other. I'm a old grandma, and I hope my kids and grand kids have a person that they love and loves them back as much as Austin and Becky does.
DUUUUUUUdE! Maybe use the slate in the stove surround in the corner? Or with a kintsugi detail (gold embellished repair) as a coffeetable? The palette is absolutely gorge🤎🤎🤎
@@TheSorryGirls Have the movers put it in place when they bring the other one. I bet they do it for free. But you could tip them $50? Can't hurt to ask!
mistakes happen but... you trust a pool moving company to move it properly.. securely.. and YET this happens 😂😳 very ironic!! that truly sucks. Glad no one got hurt. You are living my dream in this home, I’m in love ❤🥺
I loved this video the most. It helps to see the set backs in the plans. This helps makes things seem more achievable for me, knowing that we all hit bumps in the road. It looks great and it'll be finished before you know it. A fun story for everyone who plays on it in the future.
That’s so nice! This brown wall art that you put on your wall is one of the symbols of my home town, Brasília, in Brazil! The original name is “os dois guerreiros” that means “the two warriors” but in my town it represents the “candangos” name given to the men that moved there to build the city, to honor them! The statue is popularity known as “os candangos” Loved to see such an iconic thing for me in your house!! Also got me a little home sick! 🥰😍
The room is so beautiful and cozy. Honestly, when you said that you were going to install the shelf unit on that wood wall I just shook my head, but after the install I was convinced you made the right decision.
It looks so good so far!!!! I'm not sure what type of wheels ur desk chair has, but you should potentially look into getting a rug under there or a different sort of wheels so they don't scratch your wooden floors!
Thank you for all the positivity Becky. Not a lot of people would be able to see the high points in moments like this. This is just how life is. We are glad that you'll have a pool table just a few days later!
The whole room has come together so beautifully! And those billiard table slates are a serious injury hazard. I was there when our club’s new snooker table was set up. That’s a twelve feet table with five slates. I lifted the edge of one after it was placed on the base. I managed a few centimetres. They are HEAVY! Well, a broken slate like that is a DIY material you don’t get your hands on every day…
The curtains with the pleats that you're talking about are the basic standard in The Netherlands. Never knew you guys did it so differently! Our curtains are basically always on a track instead of a rod, and always have the pleats kind of sticking out to the front. Love the way it looks in your space!
Things I have learnt from this video, when Becky is nervous then take notice, something's coming. Becky has the most amazing good fortune on Market Place and an incredible DIY'er. Also the Bar nook Dude fits perfectly in the space
Looove this video. I love your retro/vintage style and even though it’s not my own personal favorite, it looks FANTASTIC in your home. Also really appreciate you showing us the entire process - setbacks and all - because life doesn’t always work out perfectly. Finally, not only do you and Austin remain positive, your primary concern is that the movers are okay and that just speaks volumes. Definitely my favorite TSG video so far ❤ (and I’ve been watching TSG since long before you and Kelsey were homeowners, before you had an office or even the loft, when you two did all your DIYs in front of that peg board) 🥰
Oh Becky 💔 you did such an amazing job on the room and the daybed is such a score it is so you! Glad the table is getting sorted and I love how shocked Austin was like he didn't even notice the middle was missing 😂
I was so sad about you moving after you worked so hard on your last home but man I am so obsessed with your new home. I just love your design style so much
I love this channel! That desk chair I had 40 years ago but they were my dining chairs. Same silhouette, same chrome with the wheels but the vinyl was marigold yellow! I love your style! It's so nostalgic to me. All the good memories come flooding in.❤
I have house envy, and the setting is so perfect :) Loving this room, can't wait to see each and every room get done, loving this series. Austin is the sweetest, he was so happy with his pool table, even though it's temporarily missing a piece :)
The room looks AMAZING! And, the surprise for Austin was still awesome, ‘cause he’s very chill and appreciative, and the promise of good times in that cool room is high, because soon the table will be whole again. I’m glad that no one got hurt, too.
The place looks amazing! Even if the pool table isn't totally finished and you couldn't sink the 8 ball for an outro 😜 you can see the vision. I would love to own this space as a shared office & hang out room! You've done amazing Becky
Wow love it!! Love how you tied in all the multi purposes of the room and made them look pretty seamless! Maybe a big rug under the pool table would help to anchor the center of the room? Just because there is so much intrigue around the perimeter already so that the pool table ties it all together better!
Becky, this home is perfect for you & Austin. Everything about it screams you guys! I am so happy for you both on finding the home of your dreams & taking us on your journey of home renovation. You are doing an amazing job selecting vintage pieces & using your amazing DIY skills to make the rooms cone together. I love your office, pool table, music room, etc. And yes, it's very disappointing having the middle pool table piece break but you & Austin handled it well & finished the room vision. Well done 👏 Hopefully the middle piece gets replaced soon but until then, enjoy your lovely room. Cheers to you & Austin 🍻
It looks beautiful! I was never a fan of dark wood but I'm starting to like it because of you, Becky. I'll be moving to a house with lots of dark wood accents soon and these videos are giving me lots of ideas! I'm excited!!
Becky, you pulled off so much, but the way you handled this life event shows us all to remember the important things in life. The room is beautiful as are!
Love it so much!! The ONLY thing I don't love is how the desk is slightly in front of the window and also slightly blocking the doors to the cabinets to the right of it. In fact I'm not sure about the placement if those cabinets 🤔
It's absolutely beautiful to apply yourself to transforming and adapting every little detail of your environment to make it look and feel just the way you want it to. It's such a beautiful process and such a privilege. Btw, I love the Barcelona daybed. I have one from Manhattan Home Design and it has practically become my focal point.
Love this room, great design choices. At first I was nervous about that shelf & putting holes in that wood wall but it was the best decision especially with that lighting
Its all about perspective! Revealing it like omg an almost finished pool table!!!! Vs this broken thing that didnt go to plan makes all the difference! Obv u are an understanding and empathetic client and that is wonderful already, but i think you are maybe to close to the whole thing to realize how amazing it already is that you found a secondhand table and cue rack and arranged this whole process and made his lil dream come tru! Timing may not have been perfect but what you did is still great and deserved to be celebrated fully!
I love your house so much. And I also love that you love vintage and your house just isn’t painted white or grey as well as the furniture. You give a lot of character to your home and I adore it
We just bought a 1955 MCM home - we those quintessential track curtains that run the entire length of the back of the house. They are pinch-pleated and I'm going to steam clean them before I try to replace them. I'll keep this video in my back pocket for the future!
Love that you did this for him!! Such a sweet thing!! He seems so sweet and easy-going that I’m sure he will be so overjoyed with the pool table and I also think he’s very touched by your “gift”.
Such a fantastic house with an exciting layout. There's so much brown, though. I know the space isn't finished yet (are they ever??), but I'd love to see a bit more color to break up the many wood/brown tones. Love your style, Becky!
It looks so good. So heartbreaking that the exciting surprise for Austin wasn't quite finished. Seeing how excited you were to do this for him. He was such a good sport about it. You are a lovely wife hun. Sending buckets of love from New Zealand.
I love how Austin only really noticed the pool table and that's all. Yeah it might not have been a complete pool table but we could see how much he loved the fact he now has one.
Hey, it's ok. My mom has not only had her pool table broken by the movers and NOT replaced, the renovators have also dropped and broken a very expensive black granite countertop. So all in all, I'm really happy just one slab was broken and they are replacing it. Looking forward to seeing your trick shots!
Oh my gosh, not you talking about vintage curtains and explaining the tape and hook system when that's literally what I've been using all my life, even on my curtains I just put up last month... and didn't realise it's something that ever stopped being used. 😂 Way to make me feel old!! 😜 By the way, absolutely love your hair in this video, looks so good!
I feel the need to specially call out your spot lighting on the wood wall. Out of this world with the perfect alignment with your decor pieces. The whole room is perfect, but man that accent wall
Tragedy aside, the flow and balance of this room is breathtaking! I love the celling, it feels inviting and the warm tones look so cozy. and I wish I knew you could do pinch pleats using those tools because i just spent weeks trying to do it by hand T_T I can't wait for the rest of the series!
Austin is a King! His humour was awesome.. Becky you caring about the pool table installers shows what a great person you are. Edit use the slate to DIY something... Some ones going to come up with an idea..
This room is so vibey! Really love it! The moodiness and the rich wood tones is chef’s kiss! Also Austin is such an amazing guy too! Ngl Becky and Austin is one of my favorite couple!
one bright side is that slate is a really cool stone material and you could have some fun, take out some frustration with a few whacks of a rubber sledge hammer and do some fun slate DIYs either inside or outside! Maybe grout it together in a table top to make a cute little table for the deck!
You have the best second hand finds. That Barcelona lounger and those lights would be listed for retail if they ever even came up in my local listings.
I just broke a Christmas ornament that I got while traveling and I got so frustrated, and then I came to watch your video and the whole pool table saga... Arghhh! I can only imagine how you felt but good news is it can be fixed and no one will tell, and the room looks amazing! Can`t wait to see the rest of the house makeovers!
Looks great, I would have oriented your desk 90 degrees, facing into the room, then put the floating shelves behind, and those beautiful large cabinets on the wood wall with a space in between for the guitars and maybe a low table for music Knick knacks. Does look great though, totally my kind of space!
