Why no plywood under the granite top?

Howdy Byron Gaona! Quick answer is - plywood is not required. If the granite is over 1-1/4” it does not require an underlayment. You SHOULD consider installing an underlayment to support long unsupported runs, but that does not factor in with this kitchen. However, that is a design consideration for overhanging bars...which is why this ‘bar top’ overhangs by 11-1/2” ... the limit recommended by my installer. For large overhangs you could use corbels to avoid having to use plywood. Good question tho...thanks for asking! ☘️
