Love your videos Necrit but I believe you are mistaken with something quite important. Quoting from Universe, Ixtal's region introduction: "Ixtali culture is much older-part of the great westward diaspora that gave rise to civilizations including the Buhru, magnificent Helia, and the ascetics of Targon-and it is likely they played a significant role in the creation of the first Ascended." Here clearly says that Buhru culture (from Serpent Isles), Ascetics from Targon, Helia culture (Blessed/Shadow Isles) AND Ixtali culture came from a DIASPORA (which means that a bunch of different etnic groups separated across the world). So Targon, Ixtal, Buhru and Helia came from the same place and culture but that culture is not known yet. Place that, obvioulsy, isn't Ixtal because that wouldnt make sense. "...and it is likely they played a significant role in the creation of the first Ascended." And this part says that the culture that played a significant role was the Ixtali Culture, not targonian. Yes we know that Ascended power comes from Targon. That Ascension is an experiment to create "super soldiers" by the targonian Aspects but (and this is what I understand from that last quote) the Ixtali elemental sorcerers were those who might have used their knowledge over elements to create the Solar Disc with special materials. Again love your videos and if I said something wrong correct me pls.
Hate her????? I just completely love her. Her arrogacy being justified with her being extremely good and actually caring for her people but being restrained by her own country laws... Uuuufffff one of my favorite lores and characters so far
she cares for her people yet she let them be slaughtered to prove a point no she doesn't care for them only power she not restricted by society she can just as well rise up to become the greatest elementalist what restricts her in the line of succession a government type present even in our own world she's simply power hungry and nothing more
Zed is also a mage and an AD assassin. Most Darkin also count as mages and most are AD characters. Akali is usually built AP assassin but she's incapable of doing magic. Katarina is also and AP assassin and all she really does is throw daggers and be a regular assassin. League is full of things like that.
Most of Qiyana's abilities revolve around slashing with her ohmlatl so it makes sense why she uses AD. Just because you use magic doesn't mean you can't also rely on physical prowess.
@@salahuddinbawaney2266 yeah it's ironic cuz akali has a bunch of voice lines about how she prefers steel over magic and all she needs is "cold steel and a target" etc...
@Nw2343 There's a difference between having Supernatural abilities and having Magical abilities. Just because it's not something possible in the real world does not make it magic. That distinction has existed since ancient mythologies. Also, from a lore perspective, Akali straight up is unable to do magic, unlike her peers, and all Void powers are explicitly not a form of magic. The 3 Sources of magic are Celestial, Elemental, and Spiritual. Void powers have been defined as explicitly not magic and not connected to those 3 sources of magic. Irelia is also unrelated to Necromancy in any and every way. There are a lot of examples of people with supernatural abilities that aren't magic in League and out of League.
10:15, Qiyanna revealed the path in front of them but not behind them so she could lead piltovans to the village by making them a path. She made sure that her path wasn't insight of the village otherwise they could find out, that's why she waited until the village was no longer visible before she made the path. Edit: And looking back at this, this also explains why she avoided the question when her servant Bayal questioned her actions about the paths.
Qiyana is not a spoiled brat, she is a neglected brat and she acts the way she does because nobody in Ixaocan can match her skills and she knows it. For the future, it would be really interesting if they make her fight somebody who can easily beat her (for example maybe Swain) in order to be humbled. Speaking of Swain, It would also be interesting if Ixaocan, somehow, becomes a target for Noxus to conquer in order to see how Qiyana will react or possibly change upon the following situations since ,even with her attitude, she still cares about Ixaocan. I believe that putting Ixaocan in danger of being conquered will be Qiyana's make or break moment to show her people what she is truly capable of. P.S.: I know this is a late comment but i just bought her and wanted to know about her lore and found it interesting. If you made it this far. Thanks for reading.
@@zyibesixdouze4863 good question, from the way it's describe I think Syndra is using some forme of mix between spirit magic and celestial magic. Well whatever she is using she would likely wipe the floor with Qiyana but I feel like the interactions could be really interesting.
I like Qiyana. I always liked characters like her with immense potential that want to do good and end up being awful people because they were schacked in some way.
@@calmcat8073 At first she just sees that she's more powerful than her sisters and want to use her powers for Ixtal. She seeks respect because being the last one forbids her of doing it and proving her potential, respect being the only acknowledgement she can get. She became bitter because of the system blocking her, kinda like how Sylas wants to destroy Demacia.
@@moo3oo3oo3 no she is gold 4, she can overpower the irons(other people for wakanda) so she think she is better than challeger (darkin, aspects and whatnot)
Bence Gergő Hocz Lmao because her people literally build most of the runtera we know and have been around way longer than even shurima. The people of ixaocan literally caused the first assended from mount Targon

CatandBonez it’s funny how your comment itself is propaganda. You people love to think that everything is about fucking politics. No common sense whatsoever.
so Qiyana is spoilt brat version of Korra XD except she can't fire bend XD and probably is gonna get wrecked very soon in lore XD Edit: nvm she is basically Azula but if the fire lord ignored her version😂
To be a spoiled person you have to be showered with so much praise that you begin to expect people to praise you even when you did nothing to deserve it. Qiyana isn’t spoiled. She may be a brat but she was starved of attention by her parents and would never be given any meaningful role in the country because of arbitrary tradition even when she prove her worth (something spoiled people don’t have to do) via becoming the strongest of all nine sisters and possibly even her parents she still isn’t given any respect or trust because of the monarchy laws that dictate she has to wait in line even if she is the better choice
So, one thing that comes to my mind, is that if in the universe of Elementalist Lux skin she got to Ixtal and become a very good elementalist. In the cinematic she's even fighting what appears to be another shard of the Monolith
She's a quite conflicting character. On one hand years, or neglect hardened her heart and when her voice wasn't heard she learnt brute force was most effective. However due to her upbringing, she never gained humility. Explaining how she's so full of herself, brash, and rude. Only a day when she learns defeat, then her resentment maybe quenched.
Am i the only one who Actually bought her and read her lore when she was released, i waited for necrit video, tho i was late to see this was uploaded lol
god qiyana is a terrible person , i hope her next story has her getting shown up and put in her place sort of like gangplank got "killed" when he got to arrogant
Qiyana reminds me Cersei from Game of Thrones. Like she’s honestly just sitting there waiting for the right time to strike down her family for her own power and gain.
Something that I think should be remembered, is that Qiyana's older sister was sent on a suicide mission to adhere to their culture. This story tries to show Qiyana as a monster, and accelerating their death sentence is wrong, but it cannot be denied that she wasn't trying to gain power through unamicable means at first...like keeping the people of her country, and her own sister, ALIVE. I believe that Qiyana's life is a story about how Ixtal's blind adherence to cultural rules above reality is horrifically dangerous, just as much as it developed arrogance in Qiyana in an attempt to defy it. Something to note is that I believe, although this is a theory, that it can be assumed Inessa didn't simply antagonize her younger sister's brash personality (which is not being a good sibling, as there's a difference between good-natured roughhousing and actually hating your sibling for stupid reasons) because Qiyana was rude, but out of adherence to their culture. As the younger sister, Qiyana was low in the social hierarchy, and was supposed to be both obedient and as her lore makes clear, ignored. Constant fixation on the delusion Inessa had been old was correct compounded by Qiyana's refusal to adhere to it, on top of a complete denial on both sides to recognize their bond as family...Qiyana wasn't the only person responsible for Inessa's injury. If you spend your entire life beating on someone who your culture says is supposed to be beneath you for no reason other than your own ego, your own sense of self? Especially in front of a fucking 12 year old!?! Then what in the hell do you expect but your comeuppance in the end? Piltover & Zaun have explained quite clearly what delusional selfishness leads to. Qiyana doesn't even want to kill her family members and uproot the system. She's just addicted to attention and respect because she never got it before, thanks to their culture saying she wasn't allowed to have it (at least from where it was supposed to come from, her family. Your guess is as good as mine why nobody tried to become her friend except the elementalists and the common folk when she presented her skills in elemental magic) and wants to gain it through defending their homeland and encouraging the people of Ixtal to respect themselves and fight alongside her. Everyone's using her arrogance as an excuse to forget the fact that Mara nearly died not because Qiyana led their enemies to the village, but because their parents commanded it. Mara was going to die no matter what unless she broke tradition and she knew that when she denied Qiyana's help. Let's not forget that the righteous decision we all wanted Qiyana to make would've been destroying the Piltover forces and saving her sister's life, which would have either had her jailed, exiled, or killed. Most likely, it would have sent Ixtal into a civil war given Qiyana's popularity and made then easy pickings if Piltover or any more powerful nation got wind of them. I think what's being ignored is that Qiyana's decision literally changed nothing at all, and that by showing a better path and letting people come to their own conclusions (which is what she's ultimately doing since again, she changed nothing) she's supplanting the power of Ixtal in a way that preserves the most lives and actually shows the people how to enjoy those lives. Although there is something to be said that since Qiyana's eyes are on people groveling before her, that while she might be impetus for absolutely essential positive change in Ixtal, the ruler's wish not for the people to flourish but to be admired will eventually come into conflict. But at the moment, she's trying to be the good guy in the only way she really can. With some bitchiness mixed in there. The fact that she likes it doesn't change the fact that unless she comes up with a plan to overthrow all of Ixtal in one fell swoop with no casualties except people the writers train us to dislike, what future do the people of Ixtal have?
Imo Ixtal is like Gondolin from the lore in the lord of the rings books, the only difference is that Gondolin gets destroyed and ixtal doesn’t. (Obviously there are more but this seemed to be the most obvious one to me). Anyways, amazing vid as usual Necrit!
Necrit mate you need to double check your scripts... Ixtalians were PART of a diaspora, they didn't give rise the actual migration. the people came from somewhere not in the current map of runeterra, and they traveled west. populating the shadow isles, serpent isles, the southern shuriman jungle and eventually targon.
Hey Necrit, if you're interested in knowing some Aztec linguistics, ohmlatl would actually not be pronounced with a strong L at the end. As in the Aztec language of Nahuatl, the "tl" is pronounced as kind of a soft click with the tongue against the sides of your teeth, similar to Welsh "ll"
She’s really unlikable. Already an uninteresting character design and she’s really conceded, oh man. I agree though they made it really easy to dislike
Been playing league since december of last year and all the released such as sylas, neeko and yuumi all made me so hyped.Qiyana just felt like something was lacking.Maybe shes not as gimmicky as stealing ultimates or disgusing or just her character design
Not every character is to be likeable She is realistic, a younger princess that didnt have her parents attention and now is arrogant trying to fullfill this need for recognition
That's where your wrong buddy. At first glance, qiyana looks like a basic bitch, till you realise what she really flipping is. Riot being extra creative this time round, only true men of BDSM culture can see her true value. Her Battle boss screams domatrix. Her personality is that of a woman who beat her slaves and so on. Even her fans want her to be stepped on or beaten and riot themselves have said she gladly do it. She not eve who a demon succubus type. She a BDSM queen. Not even joking if gave her whip, it be even clearer. This not the first time riot has step in this territory. Look at playboy riven, I mean battle bunny. Eve is full of sexual jokes and one liners. Janna has a BJ joke. Qiyana was not made for normal people, she was made for kinky fuckers who like sadist women who are into fendom. I can name loads of pros to qiyana. Pros. She a dark skin beauty, with a charming voice. Her gameplay is fun and balanced. She not some over popular smuck who will will be banned or abused in ranked, because barely anyone likes her or can play her. She won't get the kass treatment which irelia, Akali, aatrox and pyke all flipping got. If don't know what that was they all got nerfed to oblivion. But that won't likely happen, because no one really goes near her. So she in a good place, prefect for maining. Also her battle boss skin is all she ever need, because anything would be bland. Unlike the aatrox rework which was received poorly, feels like riven 2.0 and to put the blunt after they removed his revive on the ult, he just riven with a shit swain ult. Anyway that's my debut.
I think simplifying something and then getting it completely wrong just further complicates it for everyone. Ixtal is a region on Runeterra where both the Ixaocan country resides, as well as other independent Ixtali groups such as Nidalee's cougar pack and Rengar's Kiilash. Ixaocan can't be a capital because it's the name of the actual country, and that country is the bundle of different arcologies spread around the Ixtali jungles which we got art for. 3 are confirmed. The main arcology, the water arcology and the magma arcology.
Her flaw is her attitude so I wouldn't call her a Mary Sue just yet. She's not that perfect yet. Just like how Lux and Ezreal are prodigies and are almost perfect as well but they still have their flaws. I think the only reason why you think she's one is your personal feelings against her. It's not like the whole story revolves around her and her alone.
Excuse me ? how is she Mary Sue ? she's full of defects, and her caracter is very coherent with the world around her. If it's the part where she's the cadet and still manages to be the most powerful, i mean, it's more to embrace the youth revolution theme, and it deserves the story very well, since her personnality and her actions are designed by this simple fact.
League player : "i hate this arrogant teenage brat who seek attention" Also league player : " i love this psycho murderer who kill people and called it art" Not saying liking Jhin is bad, just saying people hate Qiyana because she a brat is kind of... childish imo.
My problem with her, she has no visions. Most evil characters are fun when they embody hateful ideas. Ambridge from harry potter is a crazy racist and i love hating her for it. Jhin wants to create sick art and is a mastermind at that. Qiana is powerful... and arrogant... thats pretty much it. She could be a fighting against the silly laws and embodys that with rebellious act that matter. But no she just beats up people with a lesser powerlevel, because hers is maximum.
@@Barabas190 she a teenage, a kid i would say even, of course she will do as kid do when they angry, they turn that angry to someone else. I have sibling myself, was in similar case to her so her behaviour is pretty normal as a human being. Not saying you shouldnt hate her, by all mean please do, but her character is indeed well writen and realistic
One can only wonder what would happen to her inflated ego if she came into contact with some of the things in Runeterra, that can completely ignore her "skills". Like Demacians with their petricide. Good luck fighting that, girl. Not to mention if you put her in front of Morde. Would happily watch her declare that she is the queen in front of him.
She is strong and is just starved of attention. Basically, she wouldn't have been this unlikeable if not for the traditions that hold her potential back. The feeling of having proved your worth to everyone as the obvious best choice but was denied your opportunity over a worse option simply because of some bs reason is what shape her into the Qiyana we all know and hate.
I'd say I'm sad this isn't covering Qiyana's story... but there'd have to be a story to be sad about. Because there isn't. Just a dribbling snob within one.
i really hope they still keep gragas story kinda simple i feel as tho most of the champions after reworks and rewritings they have this super tragic or world changing stories would be nice with a few stories that is kinda smaller scale something like Ivern maybe tho even his story is kinda world changing considering what he is
I still don't understand why she was least favored by her parents, logically only 1st and second child is the most important with the rest being ready in case something happens with the youngest the most spoiled in the family, plus she's the most skilled among them
Is there any stories that clarify the dragons in the game and the elder dragon. I know it's not a main part of lore but it's a important part of the game tho
Everytime you said Ixtal I kept hearing Ishval (from Fullmetal Alchemist) and now I keep thinking Qiyana has the same features as the Ishvalan people white hair, brown skin, red eyes ... Well Qiyana has orange eyes but almost the same
