As always, your honesty in your work is a great teacher for all of us. I agree with the other comment that you are indeed the “Explainer in Chief”… lol.
Love your videos. What I like the most is that you share the mistakes. A very realistic point of view when actually taking on these kinds of projects. Keep them coming!
New subscriber to your you-tube channel and I am very excited to have found your channel. You were so thorough when you explained your installation. I hope you don't mind me copying your ideas of the installation. Gonna binge watch your channel today you have a great and blessed day. Aloha from Kansas
I have been watching your videos to this wonderful upgrade that you have been doing ! You are a perfectionist ! Your inside work on the framing is so clean and neat , you have been doing a wonderful job with ! I am very glad that I saw this video ! I have the same exact panel box that you are doing in this video . And I was just getting ready to put it in , thank you for the information !
@@BassBrothersFishingDMV I just don’t believe you broke the back of it , You are way too much of a Perfectionist ! I will try not to , now that you warned me ! Thanks!!!
I just finished my boat. The switch panel I bought had the same locking connectors. They are tricky to disconnect for sure. Thanks for sharing. Great info.
"More Better" is something I say all the time. So YES it is proper placement of the words. Just don't ask an english teacher. (LOL) I've watch each of the electrical builds a few times now. I've enjoyed both of the boat builds you've done. I've recently moved my batteries from the rear of my boat to the middle to even out the weight. I also added a switch panel. So all of your content has been very helpful. Thanks for sharing. Big Fan!!!
* I like the way you used the phrase " really quick " instead of the abomination " really quickly " etc. that is being thrown about nowadays. I don't know where or why people have accepted that type of speech as proper English, but it just rubs me wrong when people use to adverbs back to back like that. Anyway, sorry for my rant, but thank you for using, in my opinion, proper grammar. P.S. Great job on your video.
Love the channel not only have you convinced me to get my own bass raider but to mod it. Which for some reason got the wife fishing off it which is a first. And on top of all that my dad has had a boat sitting in his backyard for 18 years and we are starting its restoration today
Have you thought about putting the main hub/fuse/panel/thingamajig on a hinged piece of aluminium with some type of clip to hold it in place? I did that with a tractor where the wiring/fuses were in an awkward spot. It allowed the panel/block to stay in place for normal use, but I could pull the pins and get to the wiring behind it if I needed to without having to do a lot of disassembly in a tight spot.
EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT! Beautiful work on your boat, you're a perfectionist just like me. Thank you for the hack on the switch panel too. I just bought the same panel for my Native Watercraft kayak and I will be using your idea for my light setup.
Fantastic work...love your videos! You're absolutely right about having time to THINK and THINK AGAIN about how to solve a challenge. On my own jon project, I don't know how many times I've designed a way to tackle something, been OK with it, thought about it some more, then woken up two days later at 3AM with a much better solution running through my head.
@@BassBrothersFishingDMV Thanks! By the way, did you ever get my reply on a link for the new TEC carpet adhesive? RU-vid was acting weird every time I tried to reply.
This is EXACTLY the video I needed as it is exactly the fuse block and switch panel I have. Your video was the BEST I've seen. My only question is do you take the grounds from the fuse block to the switch panel also or do you run each ground wire to the accessory?
Just bought my first jon boat! As soon as I did I went straight to youtube to start coming up with ideas. If I do all labor, what’s something like this cost after paint, materials, etc. Thanks!
On my own project (12 foot jon conversion), I'm approaching $3K. But I'm not doing all aluminum framing and decking, waterproof hatches, etc. I'm going down the wood path a la Anthony Jones's first build, as it suits my skillset, interest, and budget much better. I suspect all-aluminum would push the cost beyond $5K easily...but that's just my guess.
I would have bought the one with a push circuit on each switch then you wouldn’t need a fuse panel at all. It’s very cheap and cuts out a lot of wiring. but hey that’s just me you did good work man!!!
I converted a school bus into a fully functioning RV...with a shower, hot water, 50 amp service and AC.....I can't count how many times I changed my plan as I moved through...there is a what I call a 80/20 rule in doing any custom fabrication.......80% of the time is THINKING....20% of the time is working your plan.
Here's the exact wires I use to wire this control panel. The 14 Gauge Black is actually on sale right now on Amazon for $22.80. 14 Gauge Black 100 feet amzn.to/3Dh6SDt. 14 Gauge Red 100 feet amzn.to/3qv5up4
