Feeling pretty good, my Clara is feeling a lot more substantial now, and I still have yet to unlock Topaz's full potential due to less than optimal relics.
@@thomasgaming7656I'm still running full physical relic set on her, following Prydwen guides. What I'm mostly talking about is the substantial 50% damage buff that Topaz provides for follow up attacks. I also have S2 Secret Vow on Clara for the time being (used to have S5 herta shop light cone on her).
Just finished clearing MOC and swarm 5 with clara+topaz team.... It'a so comfy to play! Definitely not top tier team but..... she is huge upgrade for my clara so I'm having a lot of fun!
Topaz is... Awesome. She does a lot more damage than I was expecting. It's hard to think about because it's a skill, but her skill is a follow up attack. That means it also benefits from the Proof of Debt damage buff. And then it speeds up Numby. Her kit just plays so, so well with itself, and she has great action economy because of how often Numby can attack.
I mean she is only future Proof if you plan pulling any follow up characters, elsewise she falls behind future supports that work in more then 1 type of team. Plus the fact that Silver Wolf and Luocha will be rerunning soon, 1.6 by the latest probably. I feel like she would be a better character to get on a rerun, because at least then you know if she has more value for your account then now. But if you want her/numby because favorite character or design, then it's worth it to pull! :3
She is also not even that good of an enabler for follow up attacks. She only gives a 50% single target buff. Currently there are no follow up attack characters in the game other then Topaz that are strictly single target oriented meaning none of them can fully utilize her buff. I think the main difference is that Topaz is a hunt character. This means her kit is designed around her being the damage dealer in mostly single target scenarios. If she were a nihility or harmony character should would have probably been a much better follow up attack enabler then she actually is.
@@kylesmith987after seeing the leaks for Dr. Ratio I can say pulling for Topaz & Numby was a great decision. He will utilize her kit to the fullest. Especially if you have E1S1 Topaz
being F2P, I was so surprised and glad after I thought I lost the 50/50 to bronya, then getting topaz 10 pulls after, then getting her signature lightcone 20 pulls after. I only started playing when DHIL released 😭
You can have both being f2p if you had presaved jades from start. I haven't spent anything on this game and I got e1s1 jingliu and have guaranteed for topaz even though I got lucky

I had swordplay s3 and I was fucking mad. I did a free standard pull with the tickets from ascending Topaz and I got another Swordplay. Hoyoverse, you were just preparing me for Topaz, so cute
My only slight argument against topaz being as future proof as Kafka is the way they affect their niche is not the same. All Topaz really does is apply a single target buff that increases follow up attacks by 50% at max skill level. While 50% is obviously very nice it is still just in essence a damage buff that only affects 1 specific type of damage. There are plenty of ways in the game to increase a characters damage output that would also increase the damage output of that characters follow up attacks. Topaz also does not increase follow up attack damage in AoE scenarios lowering the value of her buff a decent amount. Currently speaking the two characters i can think of that most focus on follow up attack damage is Clara and Himeko. Both of these characters apply their follow up attack damage either in AoE scenarios or pseudo randomly as is the case with Clara which mean they don't generate as much value from a single target debuff. Topaz is currently the only follow up attack character that i can think of that benefits 100% from her follow up attack damage debuff. Kafka on the other hand enables dots by forcing them to trigger outside of their standard trigger windows which effects all dot focus characters equally. Her skill triggers the dots on a single target and her ultimate triggers them in AOE. She also does not consume them when causing them to trigger meaning she effectively multiplies the dot damage output several times over. Every time you have caused the dots to trigger before an enemy gets a turn you have effectively doubled the damage that dot would have done. With enough speed and appropriate ulti use its not that hard to get 2 to 3 additional dot triggers in a turn cycle effectively increasing the damage output of those dots in the 200-300% range. Now this is rough math as i understand that not all of her abilities trigger the dots at 100% of their original damage but its close enough that you get the point. In the end this is a game and people should pull for whoever they want that makes them enjoy the game as much as they can. This is just my opinion on Topaz and how future proof she really is.
@@nikonFB1988 So the thing we need to remember is that all Topaz does is a 50% dmg boost for follow up attacks. While this is a nice buff this is nothing special. This does not change the way follow up attack characters play, it just gives them a damage boost. We also need to remember that Topaz is not a nihility or harmony character she is a hunt character. She is designed to be the carry not the enabler. Lastly we need to remember that any other type of damage buff will also affect follow up attacks. In that sense Topaz is no different in buffing the damage of follow up attacks compared to characters like Tingyun or Bronya. This is why I say Topaz is not as future proof as someone like Kafka because she does not fundamentally change how follow up attack characters work she just buffs them like any damage buffer does. Also to clarify I am not saying Topaz is bad or anything. She is a perfectly fine character she just doesn't fundamentally change the follow up attack arch type like Kafka fundamentally changes the DoT arch type.
@@kylesmith987 you're making claims like she's Hunt and is rigid when her kit says otherwise, other recent characters kits say others. Rigidity in regards to paths is so loose rn. She isn't just 50% damage for follow-ups, which alone is insane btw, she's also marking enemies with debuffs. Which, as you'll come to learn, is very key in someone like Dr. Ratio's kit. Hoyoverse and the HSR dev team are not dumb, they want to make you feel compelled to have multiple 5 star limited characters. Having synergistic kits is how they do that.
I'm f2p and played star rail o. Release on ps5, got jingliu after 90 pulls delt Ike crap cus I also wanted topaz and numby, I got her 4 pulls later😂. Unlucky then VERY lucky, especially since now I won 50/50 back to back
140 pulls and Guinaifen E2, Topaz E0 (garanted), Bailu got E2. The only good thing was my Luka and Sushang at E6 now... sorry, sushang E6 and Luka E15.
critical failure on my side, not enough for pity and got Clara e1 on Jingliu's banner, only 30 pulls for that banner but i got e1 Guinaifen, so i will use her and Hook as my pseudo-tank hunter duo wombo combo (burn DoT from Guinaifen trigger Hook's talent, Hook's e4 can supercharge Guinaifen's talent to max faster), plus, maybe, Asta or Pela, depending on case and wait for some news for Huo Huo (i can improvise Clara for Argenti's MoC... if it's just damage type coverage, but not really for Luocha's level of healing with Lynx)
I think she is the first one that I don't have an urge to pull for lmaoo. And comparing her with kafka is not even close imo. 💀💀💀 I've seen some dmg test on her with e3 and her lc doing 90k numby and I'm like is this a really a Hunt character? She should be on harmony path ngl thats my hot take.
On the fence right now to use my pulls for topaz or huo huo, i use clara alot in MoC and im not really sure which of them is better for her as teammate, for now will wait for more testing
Depend of how much atk you have, If you already have rope and boots atk obviously no, if you have only one mainstat atk and little to none in substat maybe.
She's THICC... no but on a real note since I'm just starting, I'm not going for her. As a character who is gonna be quite niche, I'd rather have a DPS like Seele since I'm also missing on Quantum characters. Is a shame tho cuz I pulled Himeko from standard on my second day
Midpaz is definitely a based pull (I def was going based off “I wouldn’t mind if i won or lost 50/50 so i’ll pull”, and I lost to Yanqing so i got baited LOL but i needed him to finish off all standard chars pulled so W either way) if you’re going for meta then she’s definitely a character worth waiting for a rerun banner to see how she actually fairs with potential FUA sets in future patches, skipping her now won’t be a regrettable decision (esp for f2p or light spenders) She’s definitely a potential staple in all FUA teams (like Kafka enabling DoT teams) but without a proper set, it’s hard to say she’s worth investing in at the moment when she will probs be back in 6-8 months overall character design is top tier, animations on the lackluster end compared to the likes of Lightning Lord, Fu Xuan & Jingliu, but definitely a likeable character after the new pokémon event for sure TLDR: pull for like-factor, wait for rerun for potential meta-factor
I will recommend you to skip as she is not very beginner friendly, she will need good relic to dish out good damage. I recommend you to pull for the next banner in 1.5 HuoHuo which is a very good healer. She should complement your team seeing you shouldnt have Loucha.
Super good, her mark works on all basic attacks from Topaz or after her ultimate from every basic attack, skills and ultimates, so numby won't be slow as person above me says Single target damage is just skyrocketing with her
tried them out she does better with faster follow ups in the same team since lightning lord only hits at the end of the turn so numby can only attack if LL didn't decimate the enemies already lol
I wanted her at first cause I was thought she was gonna make my General stronger. Now I feel that she's too quirky that I'm not even sure if I want her anymore.
Yeah im gonna pass on this... the character doesn't even fight and it just enables others. I was hoping for an actual fire hunt thats 5 star but fire lookin kinda lame so far. I skipped a more useful ice character because i already had on. Now i wish i got jing, they must of known she wasn't that good so they released seele with her so ill go for her since i didn't have her.
Her damage profile is higher than e2 seele but go on. There is no point comparing one hypercarry showcase with bronya and 2 other buffers and one with a sustain and without bronya like in this video.
idk about the future-proof when my Numby do be hitting 70/80k when I have my ult buff up, and I am not even using her LC. The only thing I can't test rn is Topaz/Clara combo since I still don't have Clara 🥲
