You need to install a mod to be able to place the overlaping awnings called:
Less Building Placement Restrictions - Overlaps Edition. Search for it in the steam workshop or click the link bleow.

I'm using Yamatai blocks from the Seekers of the Dawn Pack.
I took inspiration from the Hiroshima Castle, the Matsumoto Castle and the Osaka Castle.
It took me around 3 hours to complete, because i built the roof on half tiles and that can sometimes cause obstructions.To build on half tiles use a gate and place it over 3 tiles. From there you can place regular ceelings so they cover 50% of your other tiles

5 years later and my Yamatai Castle build by using your clever glitch is still standing in my single player game 😁 Went with a different location and a bit bigger with outside walls, gates and guardhouses. Although I'm a shitty builder I like how it ended up with these nice overhanging roofs. And yea there were some problems, sweat and tears during the whole building process 😅 With the Yamatai tower set I was finally able to update the whole build. Adding sliding doors and changing stable floors for the Yamatai tower floors. New rooftop pieces also came in handy 😁

Yea when i bought the DLC, i wanted to create a classic japanese castle. I tried so many different builds but nothing looked authentic. Most Japanese constructions have overhanging roofledges and if you make that ledge 1 foundation, the building needs to be 2 times bigger to get a similar look. I noticed today that the gate needs to be placed on foundations and not on ceilings to be able to build on halv tiles in both X and Z axis.

Thanks :) The interior is not a problem. All the beams and supoort inside can be changed into walls and you can place them pretty much how ever you want. But if you want one big open area, wel then it's not gonna work.

Cap0ne thanks. No, for this build i didn’t use any mods. But i’m working on a bigger project now where i use a cuple of mods including the Less Building Restriction Mod. But when it comes to this building, I get the feeling that i have the same obstruction problems as when i didn’t use it. One thing that helps alot (not sure which mod it’s from) is the arrow marker that show in what direction the ”front” is on each block you place.

DaShonuff yes i saw that. All the anwing parts that overlaped are now gone on my build. Im gonna see if there is another way to repair it or see if i can use a mod to make them overlap again

@@fallenius6968 I hope so because Thats what gave it that nice authentic curve, when practicing before the patch it worked. But when I actually went to go copy this, I couldn't. Sad puppy. It looks weird now but it still functions. My clan still thinks it looks cool lol.

Thanks for the guide!. I had used your method to build a beautiful roof before the official patch to fix the overlaps. I don't remember do you need to have the overlap mod before, since I cannot build the overlapped roof now.

WH Leung Hi! No you can add the mod and then fill in the blank spots on your building. This video was made before the patch and i added the mod like 2 weeks ago to fill in the holes.

WH Leung it is still a bit tricky to place the awnings. If you look at the video. You need to kind of aim the camera in a specifik angel

Edit: I found a work around. My corner peices didn't want snap to the other roof pieces and so I ended up having to extend out the ceiling by one. It's a bit messy but it worked.

Renee Hill Yes i use extended ceilings in the video. For the last floor i had to use them all the way around. It’s a very messy process :p

I did the same as in the rest of the building. I haven't played in a while because of studies. but make sure you use the overlap mod in the description. (this will not work on ps4)

I made your castle on PS4 2 years ago and it works find but now i switch on PC and it doesnt work at all especialy with the awning overlapping piece... do you have any solution because i really like to recreate it on PC... thank you for you're time and your castle is amazing

Hmm. It’s not supposed to work on ps4. I tried it myself and without the mods it’s not possible. You are write about the awnings. I went back to check my build and the overlaped anwings are gone. Iv’e been looking for some solutions. But nothing that is visualy pleasing. I might look into it in the future.

@@fallenius6968 i know i was surprise to do it on ps4 but i really overlap the awning on console but it was 1 years so maybe now they're gone but on pc it doesnt work at all... sadly i try few LBPR mod but no success keep me in touch if you find a solution this Castle is so amazing i really appreciate your work. No. you need the mods to build it. Overlaps doesn't work on PS4

Great trick, but why funcom didn’t make a half roof, grrr, when i put ceilling, this really became a mess, they overlap together

Trieu Cam yea it would have been nice! Are you having problems with the roofs? Remember, you need the Less Building Restrictions - overlaps edition to make it work. They made an update like 2 months ago that fixed the overlaping :/

Fallenius Gaming i am playing in a unoffcial with overlap mod, so I can use your trick perfectly, the mess is ceilling overlap, cause the motion. Haizz I try to rebuild Osaka castle but it’s seen no hope. Sr if my english too hard to understand because I fail at(?) 5.5 IELTS

Yes. It’s 9x9. In the begining of the video it’s 9x8. But i corrected that after i made the first row of walls

Yes. You need mods in order to overlap. Last time i confirmed that this still works 100% was before christmas. There might have been some updates that make the mods not working correctly. I will try to look into this when i have time. (Since mods are needed you can't make this build on ps4)

Carlos Contreras it is hard to snap them. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesen’t. If you find yourself in a situation where it’s not snaping, keep building and get back to that area in a cuple of minutes or simply relog. The best way to make it snap is to have wall support all the way around. Have a look at my ”Pagoda” video for more information about that.

First of all. This only works on PC becasue you need mods in order to overlap the blocks. Last time i checked this build was before christmas so there might have been a few updates since then that may cause problems. I will look into this when i have time.

@@fallenius6968 its a minor issue I just cant add some extra roofing detail but other than that its awesome. I'm also not flying around so maybe I just cant get the right angle idk. Building roofs in this game is annoying lol.

@@hunnypooh6951 ah ok. Yea, you should be in admin mode when building it. It’s not intended to build on half tiles. And placing the roof is almost impossible if you are not flying.

You use x to ascend and triangle to descend, it's kind of wierd, but if you can't fly try activating ghost then deactivate, then fly

I love the idea of this but the resources required to build this in survival are RIDICULOUS...My girl and I play on a PVE server and we are grinding out shit like crazy with tier 4 smelters and improved furnaces. We grind out the Dead Mounds for Steel and still dont have enough to make even 1 floor with roofing all around.

Yes. This is more of a unlimited resources kind of thing. you also need to have mods installed for it to work. However i haven't checked it since novemeber and i know that conan exiles had alot of updates since then so not sure if this still works. I will look in to it when i have time.

@@fallenius6968 Well im not concerned about the mods or anything. Im just saying they added the DLC whether it be Roman stuff, Chinese or Japanese yet make it almost impossible to build with. Its so grindy that even with 2 people and 3 furnaces going constantly for bricks, steel and hardened bricks we still cant get enough built 😂
