Conan Exiles: Yamatai Fort Build Guide (Seekers of the Dawn DLC)

Hey guys, today we're in the desert of Conan Exiles building a Yamatai Fort. Yamatai is a great building set from the Seekers of the Dawn DLC, offering a traditional japanese style. This is what I aimed to create today, inspired by the traditional Matsumoto Japanese castle.

Awesome build. Thanks for listening to the request. One thing i like about your videos is that your builds are both visually appealing and functional at the same time. Like hey I'm going to try and build this and not only will it look good but it will also be defendable as well. Might even try this in an official server. Might take a while but when it happens i will definitely post it on discord.

Glad you enjoyed it man! Yeah there's no point building something fancy if its not functional, with the exception of maybe something for a dedicated Roleplay server. You might have to change some stuff but this could work on official servers

Love the build but it would be dope if you listed the items used say for example 200 yamatai foundation was used etc because I am currently in the server that I don't have admin access to so I have to make everything from scratch it's save on the estimation for a lot of people that would like to build this but other than that great build keep up the good work !!!

Tip for the inverted corner roofs that you lack on the first floor - they can stack on the same position, so you can basically have 2 perpendicular on the same position and it works.

for the third floor you could have a archers room for defense from the third floor and balcony area

Yeah you certainly could. There are loads of options for what could be done with any of the floors of this build, an archers platform is definitely a good idea.

You could have made those awnings flush if you had used the regular awning instead of the corner one, it clips a little but not much, anyways it seems like it only works for yamatai cause I tried it with the Greek one, and it wouldnt let me place it. It works for the Japanese one though, and looks good.

What just putting the regular square awning there? It seems like it wouldn't be flush on one side

@@Eradicati0nn no it ends up being flush, and yeah just the regular square one, just rotate it around, and it ends up looking just like the pagodas in Japan. With the yamatai you can put two of those square ones in the same place, and just rotate it to make it fit. Edit, I'm not good at explaining, but just fiddle with it a bit, and you'll see.

Could you try to build that structure from the game intro scene? The final one where Razma is wearing heavy armor.

@@Eradicati0nn When you launch the game and you let the intro play. Conan saves girl (Razma) from the cross, then they fight 'dogs' and then is Razma shown from back and in front of her is the structure. Or go here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FoWYk2ZRAD0.html and stop at 1:40.

I wouldn't mind trying more of a temple style build using Khitan, or perhaps something more heavily themed towards defence. Let me know what you'd prefer

I have already made a lot of Yamatai builds, however I'm definitely not against using it again, I'll just end up using it where ever I feel it fits best :)

Yeah there was a pretty big jump cut in this video where I realized one half of the build wasn't symmetrical to the other, so I fixed it off-camera rather than add another 2 minutes or so to the video. Nevertheless, glad you liked the build!

The tall gable over the drawbridge is ugly. Should have made the roof go the other way so the gable ends would be small. The front gable end of the main building is also too big, but isn't quite as much of a sore thumb.
