To be fair NBC didn’t have any respect for him. They kept him and all of his team in a small beat down office even when he started getting bigger. I’m glad he’s still doing good. I Wish he kept doing these remotes tho

So people just kept The Tonight Show at #1 for 20 years with Leno out of habit, but somehow that habit disappeared weeks after Conan took over? But the habit started again after Conan left? Okay I love Conan, but his Tonight Show wasn't as fun as Late Night or his TBS shows. It would have been nice if NBC gave him more time to refine the show but the guy had been doing essentially the same thing for 20 years! Maybe he just doesn't have broad appeal. Dave was terrible and a jerk on top of it. I guess some see it as edgy to be rude and disinterested in your guests. I guess he was better after his heart surgery but I'd already moved on.

@@richardlinares6314 no one pushed Leno out, they had like a 5 year plan when the time was up all were agreement in that Conan was taking over the Tonight Show.....but Leno lingered and didn't want to leave
I found a yellow Late Night with Conan O’Brien shirt originally from the NBC Store (with the tags still on it) at a thrift store a month ago!! Best thrift ever!
so a green screen ride the desk thing at the NBC store... an old friend of mine back in like 6th grade said he GOT to ride the desk with Connan and i believed him but he could never get me a copy of the episode (thats fine i still believed him he never seemed like the kind to lie about something like this) maybe THIS is what he ment that anyone could really ride the desk with connan... interesting...
Why was Conan so pissed at that middle aged white dad riding shotgun at the desk? He basically sexually assaulted the poor guy. I really liked the old Conan who was more abrasive and in-your-face.He really didn't give a fuck about much those first 3 years. That's not taking anything away from today's Conan. The show got smarter and more efficient at delivering the goods to the demographic. It sounds silly but the years, when he and Andy would awkwardly banter yet remain hilarious, were just golden. With the writing of Odenkirk, Louis CK, Smigel, Toss in a Max and Joel and your cooking with late night comedy gas. Conan truly was our Letterman. It felt like we were all part of an inside joke in highschool between this, the State, Bob and David, Kids in the Hall, Tenacious D, etc. I knew the day would come when I would start typing shit like this. The store is closed now. It was a really stupid place, but I always thought that it was a silly kitsch landmark...towards the end it was really sad and you can tell that NBC stopped caring about it. I remember as a kid, they did have a cool thing where you sit in front of a green screen and you got to do a Conan Desk Drive that was exclusive for the NBC store.
Holy crap, I almost spat milk all over my monitor and keyboard when he showed the leno chin. Let this be a lesson to all, do not drink and watch conan.
Conan has more charisma than Leno could ever dream of. Most of the celebrities hate Leno because he's an asshole in person. Conan treats everyone (who deserves it) with respect. Conan is a class act.
