I think all of Conan's staff only laugh at his jokes when it's funny. Andy, Sona, and Matt especially would probably just stared at him in silence if his jokes failed.
“Just because it appeals to children doesn’t exclude me from enjoying it” … that actually is the greatest and relatable line ever when I rewatch old cartoon classics, or do eat cereal.
U gotta watch the whole video lol, Conan pretty much says he’s forced to hang out with Jordan because of the strike, this video is really old obviously
You can see Jordan smiling and suppressing his laughter in these really early bits. Over the years, they sharpened his stoicism into an unholy instrument of comedic riffing, a truly hilarious wet blanket stifling Conan's always-lurking electrical fire
It's not that he doesn't know how to smile or laugh, but he doesn't do it like neurotypical people (source: my partner is autistic). They learn to mirror other's reactions to fit into society. If someone else smiles, they smile back, if people laugh, they will learn to laugh with them (source: my partner's behavioral therapy)
I distinctly remember that line and I'm glad someone else remembered too. I'm kinda disappointed that they cut out that line. One of my favorites from Conan was when he and Jordan were having dinner and he said that Jordan got raped in a cellar. Lol.
@@bruhmomento6844 probably lmaoo. idk if it's real or part of the "play" but you can tell in how he treated him here vs all the segments down the line that Conan lost respect for Jordan. kinda rough to see as I get older
Wait a sec, one the funniest parts was edited out! After Jordan mentions being embarrassed after not knowing how to dance, Conan interrupts & says, “so you murdered them, what could you do? The bitches had to die” it really really cracked me up
Now that the show has ended I'd love to hear Jordan on the podcast both in character and as him self. I'd love to hear where the idea came from and how it's impacted him in his personal life
wtf is everyone in this comment section saying bro they are still making vids during the pandemic if you go watch them they are all very real and they still very much are good friends wtf
He definitely got better at not laughing over the years. Yes, this is a bit, BUT it's an amazing bit and the chemistry between them two is second to none.
I don't know why but this seems like the most authentic Jordan Schlansky. He's not playing anything up, not afraid to smile... either way a Jordan video is never a bad time.
I think it's because it's his first appearance with Conan so he was just being his true self. Through the years you can see him develop a more heightened version of himself that's more stoic and less emotional on camera. I agree though, there's no such thing as a bad Jordan video.
Sadly it can hardly happen. Only Conan can handle him. Everybody else gave me an inpression that they didn't wanna talk to him in Inside Conan Podcast. Even what Conan manages to put out is out of a bit of a struggle, I think. Otherwise they would have him as a guest all the time cause he's always demanded by people.
@@cityeternal3328 he's a producer who works with various parties and personnel to get the show going. if he doesn't get along with people he wouldn't have keep that job for decades.
I’ve never noticed this before, but when Jordan is talking about wine and poptarts at 4:36 the unnerving Lynch-style background noise gets louder. It’s so fitting
I can't really put it into a string of correct words or expressions but the clip where Conan and Jordan were dancing was so cinematic and heartwarming like a midsummer movie that has all the banger soundtracks
I love Jordan! He's such an interesting unique and unintentionally hilarious person. I find it great how he seizes life, owns who he is and doesn't seem fazed when Conan pokes at his quirkiness or teases him savagely. I only wish more people were that confident and chill. I'm going to miss the skits and segments he would do with Conan.
Shame they edited out the original line! Original (which you can still find on youtube) says… Conan:"What else could you do? Those bitches had to die."
Little known fact - Jordan Schlansky is the engineering genius who brought the Conan comedy robot to life in a small lab in San Mateo, CA in 1969. You can notice Jordan’s contented demeanor as he proudly watches his creation’s near human-like operation.
i agree, but he sort of didn't seem that confident in this, compared to the later years. particularly when he was doing the interview he seemed a lot like he described himself - introverted. just my impression tho
This kinda makes me feel sad for a time when things were simpler. When we thought the world couldn’t get any more weird, it has and continues to do so. I’m grateful for Conan’s videos.
Wow you honestly can really tell how Conan was EXTREMELY tame compared to how he was once he got to TBS. You can tell that he acts like a more like an employee trying to appeal to the network vs. after this show and the tonight show, he turned into a dictator (in a comedic way and in the best way possible ofc 😂😂😂😂). His vibe and tone changed SO much. You can’t tell me he is acting the same here as he was on Conan on TBS.
I can't even with Jordan. I'm so happy he exists and that this dynamic exists. He's obviously amazing at his job or he wouldn't still be there, and he obviously has a great sense of humor or he wouldn't. Still. Be there. I want new Conan/Jordan content like yesterday.
