PacificKnights it will be, it must be, if i'm in a movie theatre and i find myself looking at a poster for an upcoming film titled CONAN THE KING, i shall immediately and without hesitation drop to one knee and pray to that poster, LOL
Bad idea. 50 years later? Conan would be around 70! Who wants to see an old Conan puffing and panting and tottering about hardly able to raise his sword? They might have an idea of using Arnold as an old King Conan bookending a film the majority of which is about his younger days but that wouldn't satisfy fans much either unless the man they get to play Conan is spot on and the script is superb. The trick to doing this right (and I'll happily direct it for 1/10th of the fee of any Hollywood A-list director) is casting the right actor for Conan and having a superb story. The stories are already written so that part isn't difficult. Casting Conan is also easy IF Calum Von Moger can act.
Truly epic. No matter what anything thinks or says about the Conan the Destroyer movie, it had a perfect soundtrack for its genre. Basil Poledouris was an absolute genius.
guess what i like this one Conan the Destroyer more than the previous one Barbarian. and the sound track also. in my opinion Conan's sequel couldnt be better than this one.
I actually liked Conan the Destroyer a lot when I was young, mostly because it was more kid-friendly, and my parents wouldn't allow me to watch the first one.
@@daytonelseth6278 Same. My mom had a heart attack when my dad let me watch Conan. It pretty much kickstarted the entire journey into "swords are cool!" which continues to this day.
Between the time when the oceans drank Atlantis and the rise of the sons of Aryas there was an age undreamed of. And unto this, Conan, destined to bear the jeweled crown of Aquilonia upon a troubled brow. It is I, his chronicler, who alone can tell thee of his saga. Let me tell you of the days of high adventure.
Timothy Mckee He's referring to a quote from the first movie: To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.
Ahh. i just tried this. I believe I feel what you are sharing at that point. A sense of something " Greater than oneself, or timeless you'd wish to be a part of.
Actually, one man has done that long before and has always been the inspiration for this sort of soundtracks: Richard Wagner. Listen to his music dramas (Der Ring Des Nibelungen, for instance) and you will see the resemblance.
Working one night is a mid-sized Texas town Emergency department. We weren't especially busy, but the 5 " D's ' were certainly commin through the door. I noticed, a pattern of Drunks & Drugged, &, 4 of my last 5 patients had legal first names that, ahem, would not need a pseudonym for their Stripper names. Autmn, Crystal, Mercedes, & Destiny. I was struck by this, wondering aloud to my tattoo encrusted coworker if their parents had thought this through with that little infant girl some 19-25 years before, when , too late I rememebered the coworker''s name was........ Brandy.
This is what is missing from today's movies. A full orchestra of distinctiveness. The power of music seems to forgotten in favour of cgi. Real sounds stir the soul not fake visuals.
I am From Saudi Arabia in 1984 i was 13 years old i saw the movie in 1988 i was 17 after seeing it I created a fight with one of my neighborhood boys i got excited unfortunately i was beaten so hard hahaha i guess crom was on the other side hahaha . i love USA my respect to all Americans specially Conan the Barbarian . best wishes to you
I love this theme, would love to hear it played live someday. Ever since I was a kid I enjoyed the CONAN films but DESTROYER was always my favorite not only because of the story but the music. Such an underrated film and musical score. LOTR may have an amazing soundtrack as well but this is the granddaddy to fantasy soundtracks.
The soundtrack of Conan the Barbarian is perfect as far as I am concerned. This one is somewhat less ambitious but I love it nonetheless. Edit: this opening is as good any other out there though, and superior to most comparable movies imho.
The granddaddy of all fantasy film soundtracks was for the 1940 "The Thief of Bagdad" by the great Miklos Rozsa ("Ben-Hur", "El Cid", "Spellbound", etc.).
I hope any and all of the performers in this video know how deeply they touched so many people around. It's beyond the books, beyond the movie, their performance reaches the heart.
Without the man who composed this music? Without actors? With all this Hollywood special effects? Nay, I'll skip another ghostbusters 2 disappointed xD
The chief of the Cimmerian gods is Crom. No use to pray to him for he will send you dooms instead of help. But at birth he breathes into the life of each man and woman the power to strive and fight one's enemies. And that is all any god should be expected to do. Queen of the Black Coast (1934) - Robert E. Howard
TheKingSpartacus wrong. they emerged from the steppes of middle asia. the great wall was built in order to prevent their raids. their descendants are turks.
In his pseudo-historical essay "The Hyborian Age", Howard explains that the Cimmerians are the ancestors of the Celts. In fact, they share physical and cultural features ( Crom, among others, is also a celtic god).
Man...this track makes my hair stand up. Always loved this track just like the classic movies. But those who dare to dislike this track will never seat next to Crom just like Valeria did.
This exquisite work, & the inspirational teamwork of the orchestra to achieve a single purpose together. for a long time I wanted that 3 minutes in the Trauma room before the Medic's arrived with the Video of the orchestra on the big screen, decent speakers, & set the tone before those victims/ patients were turned over to us to pick up after & carry on the brave work of the field medics. Alas, there were never funds, or the will. They also told me I had to stop bringing my broadsword & horned helmet to work.....
You are not meant to walk through life like on a golf course, you are meant to fight your way through it. So be not ashamed of your passions and do not falter in your valor.
Middle aged Conan settled down. Became King, took responsibility, rarely travelled anymore as he had his realm of Aquilonia to protect. He took a wife, Zenobia. Guess freedom was out of the window once Conan took the crown upon his troubled brow
Crom- I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember me if we were good or bad men. Why we fought, and why we died. All that matters is that today, two stood against many. Valor pleases you, so grant me this one request. Grant me another Arnold Conan epic. And if you do not listen to Hell with you!

Conductor - "What is most important in life" Band - "To crush your Cellos, See your violins driven away before you and to hear the lamentation of the Tubas!"
The men of my tribe were but smooth-cheeked boys when this music echoed out across the land. By the time the smoke of battle had cleared and the sun was low in the sky, they all had full beards.
Love seeing humans that have got it together and are better than me. Im pretty cool.. but these humans, these lovely creatures right here are what give me hope, these particular humans are awesome!
Отлично, гениально, феноменально, завораживающее, вдохновляющее, зажигающее, отличное, рвущее душу музыкальное сопровождение. Нет слов для выражения всех позитивных эмоций....
This is absolutely beautiful. Thank you to the orchestra for an excellent performance, and thanks to the uploader for sharing this wonderful rendition.
Did anybody hear a more epic sound than this? I think no. This is awesome and the best i ever hear. "Let me tell you the Story of high adventure!!!!!!"

"Between the times when the oceans drank Atlantis and the rise of The Sons of Arius, there was an age undreamed of. When shining kingdoms lay spread across the world. Hither came Conan, the Sumerian. Sword in hand. It is I, his chronicler who knows well his saga. Now, let me tell you of the days of high adventure!" -Mako
