I am old. Ketovore ended my aches and pains 100% I thought I had arthritis or had just worn out my bones and tendons and joints or some such thing. But no! It was the inflammation caused by my SAD. I’m jumping out of bed in the morning like a 12 year old now. Not kidding. NOTHING HURTS.
I watched a friend go from 450 lbs to local champ in mountain bike endurance endurance. Watched him come in 9th at a national level 24 hour race at 190lbs. 24 hours of single track racing in the desert. There's a champion inside every fat person!❤
I got the flu on Jan.. 1 and couldn't eat anything. So the first 4 or 5 days, I had pain from fever, AND...withdrawal from carbs. & sugar. It was too awful for words. But, after about day 5, all my inflammation from arthritis in my joints & lower back pretty much were gone. I am now totally carnivore, I even made some butter bites today. I am still sleeping a lot, but that is probably from 20 years of very poor sleep from sleep apnea, so I am catching up. I am 70, had a lifetime of stress and so on. I am now finally going to continue to be good to myself. After all, if I don't ...who will??? Thanks for listening.
I remember when there were still cashiers employed at walmart. It took them forever to ring up my food items because I literally had every type of vegetable in the produce section in my cart. And they couldn't identify half the stuff. I almost never ate meat! Now, its nothing but red meat , ,butter and eggs. I pray that this is healthy in the long run, because I'm all in!!
I got my A1C down to 5.3 from 6.8 with keto and intermittent fasting. My doctor actually warned me not to get it too much lower or I’d be hypoglycemic! I laughed and said that’s not how it works. She’s young and fresh out of the system.
"Just because you're a patient doesn't mean you can't be the smartest person in the relationship." Word! Too many of us give over control of our health because we believe a practitioner knows what's best. Love your work, Dr Berry! You're changing how my whole family eats--and feels! 😄 I feel SO much better eating carnivore (no more aches and spikes in energy). Thank you!!! 🙏🏼
I'm 3 weeks into my carnivore journey eating nothing but beef, butter bacon and eggs and water (with the odd cup of English tea now and again) not losing much weight though but I have had bowel cancer and half of my bowel cut out (r/h hemicolectomy with 8 months of chemo because they presumed I was stage 4 but I'm still here 👍😁) . I am prepared to stick to this way of life because without your health your nothing and this way of eating has improved my overall health and wellbeing SO MUCH, I'm Not turning back no matter what anybody says 😉👍
That's great. I'm about three weeks too. I agree. Not a lot of weight loss going on here either. We are supposed to lose inches first. Hopefully, we will see the great benefits of this lifestyle soon. Keep it up!
Yes family member had ulcerative colitis. If she goes off keto she swells and bleeds. Very sick. Back on keto it take 2 weeks then she's back to Good health. It shows how quickly your body heals itself
I did my monthly shop recently (I'm a 53 yo female), with just meat and butter in my trolley and a group of guys behind me asked if I was having a large BBQ. When I told them this was my monthly grocery shop, they just looked at me in complete confusion...
@@sportysbusiness Maybe take the opportunity to explain what a species specific and species appropriate diet is? Try to get people interested enough to start researching - they could do a lot worse than to follow Dr Berry 👍😊
eggs can be frozen. If you find them cheaper, buy a lot and freeze them. must crack, add salt and stir. I put 4 or 5 in a small zip lock and freeze flat in freezer. Cheers!
72 years old. I did have treatment resistant clinical depression and anxiety, especially in my late 40s and was on antidepressants, mood stabilizers, ECT for 20 years. I also gained 130 pounds from depression meds that didn't help me much. So I went off the meds, weaned over 11 months in 2016. I wasn't very well for 3-4 years, but gradually became better through meditation, exercise, weight loss on Mediterranean diet, and fasting. Fasting gave me a really great feeling, but as soon as I started refeeding, the great feeling went away. Then I retired 6 months ago, still losing weight, lifting weights, walking. So I was on a Mediterranean diet during my weight loss, but it's really slowed down. So I considered animal based diet after watching you on YT. After reading Brain Energy by Chris Palmer MD, And seeing him on your podcast, I thought keto diet was definitely worth a shot. I took a couple of months to get rid of the fruits and starches from my diet. I'm down to 30-50g carbs a day. OMG! I read that a lot of people feel better, but my energy, gut and brain are feeling the best in maybe my entire life! I believe I was eating way too much fruit because I was already on a whole foods diet: no oil, no flour, no sweeteners of any kind. Just had my annual physical. My triglycerides dropped by half to 79. My A1C is 5.2 (no change). My bp is 110/75 to 120/80. I no longer feel occasional dizziness which I believe was due to low blood sugar at times. I can walk briskly 3 miles a day. I do eat organic plain greek yogurt from the grocery store, blueberries, low carb veg, no fruit except a little avocado. I eat NY strip, bison, bacon, salmon, shrimp, poultry. My plan is to try carnivore in a couple of months after the beginning of 2025. So thank you for your great show! Thanks for having Chris Palmer MD and Georgia Ede MD on!
I have done keto before but I could not get my blood sugar down. Gave up and fast forward till I started following you and restarted but now more ketovore and keeping my carbs under 10g. Started 7 weeks ago and down over 17 pounds and in checking my blood sugars at home they are great. Waiting on my newest labs to come back and fingers crossed this is working! My inflammation is way down and I’m getting rid of so much water I was retaining and pain from arthritis. Thank you for everything you do. You are literally changing peoples lives.
I’m crying for joy for you!!!! Please stay keto and get super healthy. My mom refused to try keto and suffered needlessly before she died of COPD and heart issues, both can be greatly improved by keto. Stay strong! Be healthy. 🤠👍🏼
A dozen pasture raised eggs is still cheaper than the box of Frosted Mini Wheats and gallon of skim milk that MyPlate would recommend. Shouldn't even be an issue.
Over Christmas I tried a few of my favorite holiday foods and my body let me know very clearly that those foods were not what we wanted! I thrive as a carnivore!🥰🤩😎🥓🥓🥓
You havent actually stalled. Youve just dropped all the water weight. Now you are mostly tapped into fat and that burns off far slower than water weight. Stick with it and just be patient!
Could not sleep last night so I was sitting outside at 3.00am on the veranda for 2 hours ( it’s Summer here in Australia).. Mosquito flying all round me,but not one bite... Definitely Carnivore diet.. they don’t like my blood.. Thanks Ken.. BBBE.Dr Ken Berry..
@@jobrown8146 same here.. I have been Carnivore for 2 and half year and find the same... I hear them around my head but don’t worry me... Do you think Carnivore is brilliant...I am living in the middle of NSW
@@brucemaher7621 I've never been a big meat eater and the first 8 months I wasn't eating a lot of protein. After that I started eating more eggs and trying to increase my meat portion with a meal because after listening to videos I didn't think I was getting enough. I was surprised at how satiated I felt after it. Recently I had a couple of days when I missed breakfast (an egg, seeds and nuts) and only had meat for lunch and dinner (I have been getting some RUQ pain after overdoing the nuts - I'm getting a CT scan done this week) and I was amazed and how much I enjoyed it. But I don't think I could go totally carnivore.
I just want to thank you, been carnivore just two weeks a feel fantastic was keto for 40yrs but carnivore 0 carbs feel better then ever bought your book fantastic info. Share all your videos. Also I suffered from hives and welts had severe allergies that's how a heart doctor, a yes heart doctor that studied nutrition put me in keto, never had hives or welts ever again.
Hi mr Berry I'm Trevor from England thank you so much as I've told you before I've been a diabetic 16 years 16 years of pain not working can't pass any medical but today I'm on 14 day taking notes from yourself wow I've never as long as I can remember did i get up in the morning and fill so good wow your helping so many people its working and I've been on so many diets i went on a vegetarian diet for 7 months people told me get off meat thank you again for your time help and awaness take care
I started intermittent fasting in Aug'22 and then low carb diet 2 months later, mainly to lose weight. Result, lost 6kg, bloating gone, depression gone and surprisingly the pain in my ankle for more than 10 years, also gone. So so happy!!!
I ran into one of those surgeons and disagreed with him. He fired me and kindly referred me to a great Dr who agreed with me, no surgery needed on my broken middle finger, bone chip could cause my my middle to heal permanently straight. 😂 She explained his desperate situation, having no insurance, his wife having cancer.
After doing mostly Ketovore and a bit of Carnivore for the last year I can say now that all my knee pains are no longer a bother to me. They are just gone. It's amazing what eating a PHD can do for a human body. I also have MS and I've had a case of nuisance bladder cancer (free of that for the last 4 years) and I'm sure this style of eating is helping those issues also. I will be fueling my body with this way of eating for the rest of my life. There will be "NO GOING BACK" to a SAD diet for me. When life changing diseases happen, making the change is easy. It took me about 3 weeks to become adapted and now I don't even think about it anymore. My wife has joined me in this journey, and we now eat about 1.5 meals per day average. I fast about once a month for 24 hours all the way up to 66 hours, which is my personal best so far. THANK YOU Dr. Berry and Niesha for all you guys do for us humans! Niesha's cornbread recipe is the BEST thing you can consume.
Also our food costs have dropped due to not buying all the crap processed foods that we used to buy, and we are eating steaks on a regular basis. We can be in and out of the food store in about 15 minutes now, and be done shopping for the entire week.
new carnivore and havent lost my desire to eat bread( coffee and toast ) on lazy days but definately meat meals do seem strange but since I havent worried about opinions Im going ahead one change at a time, thanks so much for bravely speaking healthy choices for us all
Hubby and I have a french toast treat for breakfast every now and then, and then a big meat-tastic dinner, and then we get back on track. I'd say we're great about 90% of the time, which works for us. Whatever works for you... works for you!!!
Just saw a carnivore crepe recipe made with 3 egg whites and 1 whole egg (1 full cup of eggs) and 2 tbsp gelatin and lil salt. Would be good with butter and coffee on the side...these also can be cut into "noodles" apparently. Perhaps thatd be a good option opposed to toast? 🤷🏼♀️ Hope all is well! 🤟
As a lower wage worker I mistakenly thought compliance would be harmless. Like before I knew I had fatty liver I had the symptoms. I knew something was wrong. Thank God for sending you and ede and especially Kelly for carnivore. It fixed my fatty liver symptoms before I learned that's what I had. I'm still fat but not fatty liver fat as much. Anyway, before I heard about side effects of the intervention they wanted us to comply with, I was looking for what was causing my symptoms. No tears for the spilled milk. Cayenne pepper capsules help.
Funny thing about the push to cheap foods, when Lester Thoreau suggested it to Clinton, his suggestion included beef tallow because it was cheap, now a little jar will cost $12.
I have the exact problem, I’m 59 and had to be put in the hospital for 4 days, due to my liver. I have never smoked, and I’ve never drank alcohol. Could you share the remedy with me,sir?
@@jesterflight8593 lower your insulin by lowering your carb intake to nothing. personally I went carnivore. I tried to go keto but it's popular to make it needlessly complex. I thought carnivore was simple keto but I didn't eat enough fat. Still worked for me. Beef, eggs sardines butter water. I also ate other fish, chicken hotdog weenues etc. Coffee tea. At the time eggs were cheap. But I basically took half a dozen hamburger patties and a few boiled eggs a day. With salt. Cheap stuff. Now I eat some chuckroast hamburger patties and weenues from the house and McDonald's or Wendy's hamburger patties when out. I don't tolerate pork well yet so I didn't mention bacon or sausage or ham. . Going carnivore is short form for not eating any sugar. Wheat Fruit aka sugar Anything that might cause a reaction. This will cause most withdrawal from sugar addiction. Sugar had the whole addiction thing down like heroine or nicotine dependence . Whenever I went through my withdrawal it was summer and I worked testing fresh asphalt on roadways in Carolina. Testing asphalt does include a lot of walking and sweat. So that's a caveat. I'd been on the job with the fatty liver symptom . I put that out there to warn my water intake was a lot. I drank steadily from waking and would drink a gallon of water before eating around lunchtime for the first time of the day. That' much water is not for everybody but it helped me with my withdrawal from sugar by not having me associating thirst with sweet drinks. Butter salt and pepper make coffee a different drink than cream and sugar. Earl grey tea is a caffeine source that's awesome with butter salt and pepper. Tastes better than coffee. Various herbal teas. I did wrong by just eating meat and eggs. My fat intake was too low. But I was eating so much better than I had been my pains associated with fatty liver disappeared. I'd been getting pain in my right arm and skin tags. Bonus my allergies stopped. I didn't have to take antihistamines or decongestants and my knees quit hurting. Prologue. I have had some relapse onto wheat and sugar. Those cause pain similar to alcohol hangover. Kinda sucks. High dose vitamin c, zinc, magnesium help me get through those hangover days. I found I dropped like ten pounds of inflammation in a few days. I can that inflammation weight very quickly. The weight doesn't matter. The inflammation does. I'm inflamed right now on a carb bender. My back hurts so I'm admonished to get back on my carnivore. I've eaten carbs whenever I'm tired and not thinking good. Or my kid asked for something and coparenting quagmire. But carbs bring physical pain. Weird. I never did cocaine or heroine but I understand self destructive behavior better now. If your lifestyle is such that you can regularly sleep with normal meal times and access to a toilet because detoxification is has to go somewhere, you'll be amazed. Oh and enlarged prostate is inflammation. Fixing the inflammation is like you didn't know you felt as bad as you did. Like we're taught to play through injury and pain. It's almost weird to feel good.
Over the last twenty years plus, I was suffering low o2 , since 2001, when I was in hospital in Saskatoon, … I recently found out this could be a zinc shortage. So I took salus tonic that is calcium, magnesium amd and zinc. The results in a week of this, is normal o2 levels. Totally life changing, the elephant off my chest.
Dr. Berry, I always enjoy all of your videos and niches too. Angel and I have been following you for 4 years. Now we are mostly carnivore. Would it be possible to put the captions on your question-and-answer videos? She is very hard of hearing and cannot listen to your videos without reading them too.I would so much appreciate it.thank you. We always pray for. God bless you.
I'm oldish...64. Keto reversed CKD. Carnivore healed interstitial cystitis. I hike, walk and kayak every chance I get, and have a physically demanding job. Zero joint pain. Let's go into old age kicking and screaming, and living our extra life.
Ditto. How much food is too much? I'm 50, woman, 5'7. Active. Lift weights. Coffee, h. Cream, nuts 2oz.for breakfast. Then 6 to 8 ounces meat, 2 eggs, avocado 1/2, for my meal.
Thanks for lives like this. Wished I could have caught live. I need some work on health. I'm hoping that retiring in April will bring my stress levels down and my A1C and BP.
YES... never trust the front label. I once bought shredded cheese out of laziness. half way thru I read the ingrediences... there was potato starch in it to stop the clumping.
another ingredient update: I was buying pork rinds for snacking from Stater Bros. it was their brand. the ingredients were pork and salt. then I wondered why other brands had oils included. so I asked Stater Bros. they fry with canola oil. that was a sad stop for me.
Dr Berry , we appreciate your work and bringing Dr. Seyfried on as a guest. We have been on the diet you recommend for several years. Actually since we got married back in 90. It wasn’t what I wanted but when you marry joggers, who had a minor in dietetics and went to two years of pre med before going to optometrist school. Today she’s managing her younger brother’s pancreatic cancer and given him Fenbenzadol along with Ivermectin. His oncologist says she seldom ever sees cancer die back but has taken him off Chemo. My wife tried her best to talk his kids out of pushing their dad into taking Chemo but was unsuccessful. Its hard to say right now but it looks like he will succumb to the chemo. We could not get him to listen or use our diet though he was healthy and not overweight. Because he worked out daily his sister (my wife) thought he was able to game the system of a high sugar diet with excessive exercise but if he lives I bet he eats like her older sister suggested. We are praying that we can help him pull through the chemo and if he does it will be a miracle. Watching what the chemo did to him in a matter of a couple weeks was almost impossible to watch. We believe the medical industrial complex has no interest in making people well. Fauci woke us up to this. Hopefully he pulls through it. If not we’ll know next time. PS we raise our own cattle and keep a couple to grow on out when we pull them off winter pasture for selling to the big feedlots. We do not agree with the way meat is fed out but the way the business is set up we can’t do it any other way but for our house we eat an half Herford half angus heifer that almost three years old when we take them to the Shamrock TX packing house for processing. Its a small family owned locker plant that does a very good job of following orders and packaging the meat the way we like it. 1.5” thick steaks and 90/10 hamburger. We know it is wrong according to the doc but we prefer lean beef. We have perfect numbers and perfect labs and take no scripts so something is working.
Thank u for helping so many ppl, I lost almost 70 lbs on keto, after finding u❤Ate carbs again, gained 30lbs back😢 NOW I’m on carnivore, so far I’ve lost almost 12 lbs in 14 days. Hoping to heal heart and stress issues. Was diagnosed with a branch bundle blockage and was wondering if carnivore will help my heart issue. Thanks again!
After having hypertension for 18 years, I restarted carnivore on 2/28/23, after depression knocked me off the wagon in May 2022, my blood pressure for the last 10 readings at least, better than 120/80, ranging from 105-115/65-75
@Wren Budden: Question - Scalp always ityches and gets tiny scabs/bumps after meals!?? I cut cheese out and my scalp and beard have been a lot better! Hope you get to see this reply and hopefully it helps!
I wish I had caught you live. I have just recently found you/your channel while searching for help/answers to my many medical conditions. I have: Gastroparesis, Discoid Lupus, Angioedema, Sjogren’s Syndrome, (all idiopathic), SVT, Arthritis, Essential Tremor, IBS, GERD, Hiatal Hernia, Barrett’s Esophagus, Dysphasgia (esophageal motility). Recently diagnosed with: Polycythemia, low iron (ferritin), and Fatty Liver Disease. Also have: Migraines, Anxiety/panic disorder, and am prone to kidney stones and am extremely med. sensitive. I’m at the beginning of this journey of looking into a diet change, possibly helping, I have a lot to learn and am trying to figure out where to even start. I’m grateful to have found your channel.
Go binge watch every video Dr. Berry has. And do it quickly. You are in such deep water. Try the BBB&E for 90 days. I’m horrified at your list! Lifting you in prayer.
Just now catching up on your videos. I lost 60 pounds over the past year by eating low carb, but my BP was still high. Started Carnivore on January 3rd. My BP is almost back to normal. Thank you for teaching us how to eat a PHD.
My A1 c is 5.1...My triglycerides are 69....but my HDL is only 37....I most 33 pounds ....My sugar was 102 ....total cholesterol is 220..my LDL is 167......I lost 151 points on my triglycerides eating a proper diet and I lost 11 points on my sugar...
I wish that all RU-vid channels that advocate keto/ketovore and carnivore WOE would all carry a warning for people predisposed to develop histamine intolerance. (Many people with fibromyalgia are particularly histamine sensitive, for example.) In its severe form, it's really quite debilitating, as I unfortunately found out after just a few months on ketovore, followed by less than a week of carnivore.
I was diagnosed type 2 diabetic in 1994 and started a low carb diet recommended by my doctor. Have done well as long as I stay on it There are many variations of low carbohydrate diet. Carnivore is one of many. Nothing new here.
I'm almost 9 months on keto and doing great. I tried carnivore but just missed broccoli and brussel sprouts a little to much. They are still less than 20% of my diet. I started at 244, down to 267 and want to get down to 145-150. Dr Berry has been a huge help with all his videos, Thank you sir!!!
Since learning about oxalates in vegetables I no longer eat them. Avocados are included in carnivore, I am not eating them in my first three months. My granddaughter is making me guacamole for my birthday, my favorite fruit. The skin and pit are very toxic but not the fruit.
Just got back from my heart doctors. says my clohesterol has dropped to 188 from 300. Thanks for these videos. And thanks to my NatureOpatth and my regukar Dr who beleive the same as you.
Response to Dr. Savage in the UK. Your measurements are done in mmol per L (same as in Canada). Best to have a fasting level below 5.5 - some can be 4.0 without any hypoglycemic effects.
Hi doctor! Thanks so much for this info. I’m 62 female & I’ve been struggling with carbs. I’m eating too many. Trying to cut back but I crave too many of them. I’m think my aches & pains are made worse by them. I’ll keep trying & working on it though. ❤️🙏🏻
That is why I decided to try carnivore.. plus easy to take food off the mind. Never have to wonder what is for dinner.. hellooo.. it's meat. Love love this
I have chronic back, neck, and shoulder pain, although not nearly as bad as Sue Hull (the commenter in the video). When I was at the chiropractor yesterday, she suggested using a rubber lacrosse ball to release tension in my muscles. She said to put it between me and the wall, lean against it, and move around until I find a sore spot. Then just hold still until the pain goes away (max 2 minutes in one spot). If you want to see a video of that technique, look up Bob and Brad on RU-vid. You'll need to find the right videos but I've seen them demonstrate it a couple of times.
I do run and step race although elderly Bob and Brad suggested a vibrating heated wand for my IT band but I bet it could help your shoulders too. It has different adjustment levels. Keep your magnesium electrolytes up also.
My cholesterol has been high all my life running 247. Went Keto Nov 2022 Lost 70 pounds by June 2022. Cholesterol increases to 297. From what I'm hearing watching lots of videos it's the Trig HDL ratio which is important. From website docsopinion: If lipid values are expressed as mg/dl (like in the US); TG/HDL-C ratio less than 2 is ideal. I calculated yours at 1.76.
Rule of thumb about skin creams; " If you can't eat it, don't put it on your skim. " Your skin absorbs the cream....and into the body it goes! Think about it!!!
I have gallstones, now they only hurt when I eat a couple more carbs then normal, it used to hurt when I ate fatty meat. Once I transitioned over to ketovore and the initial gallpain stopped it is way easier to control, so we will see how long I can keep it going without removal.
The only thing that is debatable is that when you are mostly carnivore you eat a lot of protein At which point your liver does convert to glucose and then the A1C is not as low as you would have expected it although you're Fasting insulin remains consistently low. therefore, I would not agree that the A1C by itself is indicative of prediabetes at 5.7 for example.... not that simple & different for more muscular men that store more glycogen....
Hi Dr. Berry. I am a 74 year old woman. You were talking about over cleaning your face. All my life I never ever used any harsh skin cleaners on my face. I most of the time have used a damp wash cloth, and all of my adult life I had beautiful skin. Also I never ever used make up, Even at my age now I have nice smooth skin and I have much less wrinkles than the average 70+ person. I can sit in a crowd of 60 year old people and I am always shocked that I look so much younger than they do. I contribute a healthy looking skin to my diet. I eat some fat (butter, and lard) daily, also I eat fruits, vegetables and one serving of bread for my evening meal. I raise my vegetables without any insecticides etc. I eat only small amount of meats. I have never deficient in vitamins and minerals, also I do not eat many sweets they are yuk yuk to me. I don't have diabetes, obesity, nor any of the common senior illnesses. I do have MS, RA, and high blood pressure (controlled). I believe my diet has protected my heart and brain and collesteral etc. I never drank alcohol, nor have I ever smoked. and for the most part I feel reasonable even with MS which makes one feel crappy a lot. If you liked anything in this information you have my permission to use it. Jessie from Arkansas
My mother is 76 years old and has the most pretty smooth skin. She is Native American and very beautiful. But she has worn makeup for 60 years-wont go out of the house without it haha. So I think it's more genes than what you eat or do to your face.
How does nutrition differ depending on the age of the animal? Are young animals more nutritious to eat for humans? Are older animals more nutritious? How do the differences shake out? Is there research on this topic? If the animals could live long full lives then the ethical advantage of vegetarianism largely disappears, does it not? From an ethical standpoint I would prefer to eat animals from a farm that let them live long lives ended by natural causes. What is your take on this from a nutritional standpoint?
