Jeremy Woodruff Yeah, me neither. I personally don’t play Yu-Gi-Oh or watch it, but this was a very interesting video. And I can’t wait to see the next one!
@@possumgod8998 mythologies, history legends, stories and tropes, too. (Wizard of Oz x Star Wars[Kozmo], Cryptids [Danger!], Cthulhu Mythos [Entity], Superheroes [Elemental/Destiny/Vision/Masked HERO], etc.) Hell, they reference a lot of games too. Tactical Espionage Expert, Vampire Hunter, BES, and A Wild Monster Appears are referencing Solid Snake, Simon Belmont, Gradius, and Pokemon respectively
A Yu-Gi-Oh themed video with KH music in the background makes me feel so euphoric. I hope this continues because I love card lore. Maybe the tale of Marauding Captain next?
Hmm..Could there be a tale for Elemental Heroes or Gem/Crystal Beasts? Or would they be too intertwined? Dunames Dark Witch is another one I'm interested as she's a Dark Witch but a light attribute. Though, I am really looking forward to more of this! I love to know more stories the cards tell and expand the spirit world more, at least that's what I call the world the tales happen in.
To think that the artwork of a cards' game could go so far as to tell a story, it's amazing! One never notices the amount of depth until you really look into it. Loved this video, and hopefully we can see more of this series soon!
Gonna be honest here, this was ballsy! Not only is this something completely different from what you’ve done, but to pick a group of cards that aren’t that well known? You could have picked the dark magician cards, blue-eyes, or just a group of cards that everyone knows. Good job and way to risk it for the biscuit!
That’s really interesting to hear that each yugioh cards have a story to be told. I hope you would continue the tales and wonder on what’s the story is for the dark magician and/or Exodia, the forbidden one
I remember a RU-vidr who did stuff like this on his channel-he would put cards together and essentially connect them into a story. His versions, however, were a bit more on the nose essentially naming the cards one after the other within short sentences, like "He delivered a Solemn Strike", followed by the card.
So happy you made this! When I started playing like a year ago I noticed some cards had similarities to others, but the other youtube vids on it...just didn't capture me 😅 hope you someday do the ambitious story of ritual beast (my first deck ♡) that ties into shadoll and maybe other cards? Love your videos!!
In some ways the Condemned Witch reminds me of Maleficent (the original animated one, not the live action remake). It could be because of the horns but also the fact that Maleficent was an evil fairy whose able to channel dark magic and the 'powers of hell' and was a very spiteful character.
Dude this tale is fucking crazy!!! You must do more of these tales of the shadow realm. When you explained these cards and their connections, my mind was beyond blown. The cards and their connections was heart wrenching
Thanks for the video! Best of the 3 I've seen on this series of cards. I found a post on Tumblr talking about it and shared your video with it to give more context!
Never knew Yugioh cards had lore like that. Figured they were all just created in the stone tablets for battles and then cards in the future. Why I got more into mtg, cause loved how each card is a character with story or part of a giant story. Def makes me wanna look deeper into the Yigioh cards too now
I'm curious if there is a tale to be told of the Dark World cards and also am interested to see what kind of shenanigans would be in store of the tale of the Black Scorpions. @HMK
This is amazing!!! I loved the story told and I actually have the first three forbidden spell cards in one of my decks!!! To know the story that goes it’s them is so interesting!! Thank you for sharing this super cool new series and I can’t wait for more!
Speaking of YuGiOh, do you have thoughts and/or theories of what a future spin-off after Vrains would be like? As in the basics; the "Yu" hero, the cast, the plot, the new Summon? I have a couple of ideas in the works. Does anyone wish to read them?
So I combined a bunch of the "Forbidden" spell cards as well as Condemned Witch with the Darklord deck I had, and honestly just on theme alone, it's one of my favorite decks that I've built. I like to name my decks, so I call this one "Fallen Grace". I need to find a copy of Witch's Strike, because I honestly didn't know it existed until I watched this video.
I wanted to thank you so much for the Fantastic video and it was really excited to see you finally uploading Yu-Gi-Oh content Yu-Gi-Oh hold a very special place in my heart and it's fantastic to see one of my favorite RU-vidrs talk about one of my favorite games please keep up the Fantastic work and can't wait for more... Oh please please do the red-eyes black Dragon crads next
Bruh, I didn't know you were into YuGiOh, what a coincidence, I'm literally just getting into it. I had cards and Duelist of the Roses way back in the day but that's all I knew about it, but now I'm all in.
I always love the lore in Yugioh’s monsters. Very interesting as I didn’t know that the Forbidden cards are linked to Christianity. Nice first impression to the series! Anyways, my suggestion for a card to have a Tale of is Warrior Dai Grepher.
I'm surprised you decided to dive into this HMK. i didn't think you were interested in this small part of the yugioh fandom. at least i think its small, i pay more attention to the game and anime in truth (game more so)
This is bringing me back to this super cringy fanfic I wrote in high school that told the story of how Celtic Guardian was avenging his master Gaia the Fierce Knight after BEWD killed him and eventually using the Dark Magician's power to become the Black Luster Soldier and then I'm pretty sure he rode REBD into battle and killed BEWD.
I enjoyed this and it was great but you did miss solemn warning. it fine and all but I thought I would bring it up since someone else might and may say it in a mean way.
