It’s here, The season 2 finale! Let’s end it on a great note! I brought Shay back to discuss something that we’ve been trying to get better at- Conflict resolution. It’s something we all need help in & also something that is unique to every couple. I also give a life update and this time it’s all great news to report! This a really interesting conversation especially because most people have a difficult time differentiating between what is their own experience (based on their feelings and perception) vs what actually happened (the fact). I think Shay articulates this well when she mentions it’s often how people are delivering the message. Often our perception is filtered though a million life experiences so what feels like a “fact” for the deliver is really still just a feeling. Facts are really the bare minimum encounter. A really great lens to view this style of conflict resolution is restorative practice or restorative justice because it doesn’t require people to agree on the facts, it only requires people to agree that harm was caused and willingness to move forward.

Season 2 was amazing! THANK YOU JD and Shay for being so vulnerable and willing to share real life relateable topics. Not many people are willing to show any negatives in a relationship and thats why a lot of people are lost in this world. Relationships of all types are hard and your guidance has been A1 in my life! Your intros are too long, but this one 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 loved it, it's very relatable. This is the first year where I stopped having resolution goals & I'm changing that phrase to intentions. It automatically takes away that pressure.. and idk it just feels more wholesome to my soul. Don't treat this life so serious, at the end of the day when we're on our death bed, what's going to matter is that we enjoyed it. 💜🙏🏽

@Justin Davis how funny, I moved to Houston a year ago, just needed a break from Austin, it's so close so y'all can always make a weekend trip to atx. You'll love Houston! It's full of culture, soul and great food!! Lol. I recommend the heights area! The best area in my eyes, also rice village area.

Shay, ive noticed you rarely (dare i say never) take constructive criticism without somehow throwing part of the responsibility back to JD. From what I can see. The microwave moment was a prime example. Ironically it was an analogy to let go and let the other person have it lol. It would be lovely to hear you own something wholeheartedly. Its very slight, hardly noticeable. But i know the small things can add up. And lastly, "im sorry you felt that way" is never an appropriate apology. I say all this with love and respect.
