We believe that many of our rights and civil liberties as American citizens on American soil are at great risk and that a simple act of civil disobedience has the power to effect great change. While we have no interest or intention in breaking any law, we are willing to stand up for freedom and the constitution at any time and at any place and do so in a responsible and productive manner. It is our goal to create free and open discussion whenever possible in an effort to educate both ourselves and anyone with a desire to learn. A well known rule of government is that ignorance is no excuse for the law. It is our stand that we as Americans have been either uninformed or misinformed regarding our laws and rights for far too long. We are not attorneys or scholars, however we have been involved in professional photography for over 30 years and have had our rights and freedoms challenged more times than we can remember. No one group or person has the ability to effect change across the board, however we are committed to doing our part by continuing to stand up for our constitutional right to free press and the right to take photographs and video in public. All donations will be used exclusively to further this cause. They have plenty of nice and polite conversations with people, it's when other people start getting hostile they return it back. You educated me a bit. I am a home inspector and also an home owners insurance inspector. Sometimes I get jobs to just take pictures of homes from the outside from the street and sidewalks. I always got a hard time from neighbors. Now after watching your videos I am educated on public photography and don’t feel like I have to explain my self to all the nosy neighbors… lol.

You have the right to take how many pictures you want. The only thing that is not allowed is to take pictures in peoples home windows. That's the case in Sweden at least.

This is why I love this channel and others like it. The education and the demeanor change that occurred from that business owner is what this is all about, whether or not the business owner will admit it, you just completely informed him of something he likely knew, but might have forgot. I agree, I find Amagansett press does a good job, but far from the unbiased perfection the frankly egomaniacal channel owner presents as. He's not a bad guy, he's smart, and this is his domain, if it's justified anywhere, it's here. Most humans are boring, he makes something he knows well entertaining and it helps preserve our freedoms, but even 100 virtues don't discount a single fault of a man and his ingenuous attempts to undermine another. Even as he claims education, I don't buy it, if he wanted to teach, he wouldn't try to insense people so quickly, he'd instead try to fish for their passivity. I understand wanting raw opinions, but it's not raw to be an outright belligerant social human, people pick up on things far more subtle than he attempts to imagine, etc. Personally, I love what Amagansett does, I just find that they're as disappointingly human as the rest of us.

Who wouldn't ask why their business is being filmed? The shop owner wasn't "owed" an explanation per se, however, giving him an explanation would seem like the courteous, friendly thing to do. My hat's off to the shop owner for remaining calm and open-minded to AP. Honestly, I can't imagine any business owner in the same position not reacting the same way or asking the same questions.

I agree… It’s an understandable rationale. Besides sports cameras; cameras are mostly utilized, for the purpose of catching bad. Shoplifter, ring doorbells, dash cams, etc. So thinking bad may be afoot is rather normal. It’s what happens from there…..

also, the whole point of these is education.... so when the first woman comes out and instead of trying to educate the staff on whats legal, you are short with them, then its kinda like... are we teaching here or looking for youtube content?

Well the thing is he’s allowed to film a business from a public sidewalk and I don’t get the expectation that some people have that they have the right to know what someone’s doing. Respectfully disagree

They have to learn that you do not have any obligation to answer their questions and have the right to remain silent, and sometimes that can only be taught by not answering their questions

I'm a SD girl, born & raised....I cringe everytime ya'll go to Rapid! Very rarely is it a good encounter. Luckily I'm east river & the Sioux Falls audit went better lol

LOL 🤠🚬🤭😁 Amagansett Press goes mainly and only to sleepy/soft target locales to do 'first amendment audits' (POWDER PUFF AUDITS); I dare you Jason to go to Ultra Urban locations such as the hectic city of Los Angeles, the rough Midwest, the loco metropolitan areas of the deep south like Florida, Louisiana, urban vicinities of Texas, and last but certainly not least the densely populated areas of the East coast. I guarantee you, Jason, it would be a lot tougher for your reps of exercising your constitutional rights routine.
