There's a certain honour and dignity in resigning, and the opportunity to quietly slip into a similar post 6 months later when the dust has settled, and they deserve neither. The public humiliation of being sacked and a lifetime ban on working in education, or with young people in any capacity, would be more appropriate imho.

It is a secular religion masquerading as a “social justice” movement that takes offense when others attempt to name or label it. This movement represents that moment in Animal Farm when they add the clause to the statement “All animals are equal…but some are more equal than others.” It is an ideology that works on blatant double standards and its adherents are relentless and overzealous. The adherents also LOVE language games and redefining words. It is not a coincidence that the term “white supremacy” went from a specific movement that is strongly antisemitic, to a vague term (that somehow includes math and punctually) that Jewish people are seen as beneficiaries of. All of a sudden, “white supremacy” is something Jewish people are adjacent to, old definitions be dammed. This, obviously ignores that strongly antisemitic white supremacy movement which still exists. Is it at all surprising that we now find ourselves here? The institutions which are most repressive when it comes to freedom of speech and academic freedom for talking about the reality of biological sex, for example, all of a sudden are citing the need for context and the first amendment. We can notice the same language games at play here as well, when “misgendering” a trans person (although in this context “misgendering” means its complete opposite) can be defined as part of “trans genocide,” or “violent words.” Yet, *actually calling for the genocide of Jewish people* who have been persecuted for millennia, is not really an issue. “Rules for thee but not for me.”

Well, the point is students chanting “Intifada” and other Hamas-friendly slogans that directly imply the genocide of Jews. So, while students might be ignorant about what they are chanting, these Presidents are not allowed to be. Saying “yes” would get them into trouble, obviously. But not one of them had the guts to take that heat.
