Thanks for the video I did not think I would need the gnd and vcc on the telemetry plug as it it used on the sbus but thanks to you I will connect them and hopefully get telemetry on my radio. Cheers.
One thing that is nice about crossfire and pixhawk is it supports RC over mavlink so you only need to use tx/rx/power/ground. Dragon link is just like this R8 setup where you still have to run RC control over sbus.
Nice video taking the time to detail the specific connections. It's confusing since one side is "TX" and the other is "RX" and vice versa. I was also having trouble with no telemetry since I wasn't using the 5v and GND after following youtuber Painless360, who said it wasn't necessary to connect these two, but for my build apparently these connections are required, like in yours. Also, I found this page very helpful to update the OpenTX Firmware. My Yaapu Telemetry Script was crashing because I had tried updating the firmware by drag-n-drop, but I think the Companion Software needs to be used to flash the firmware properly as in here: www.multirotorguide.com/guide/how-to-update-opentx-firmware/
@@lift-offrcaviation2852 Have you successfully loaded maps to your radio? I'm struggling with it now..."Gmapcatcher" doesn't seem to download maps. Might be I need to reinstall. Doesn't load many tiles.
@@DFEUERMAN yes, previously I was able to download the map tiles but recently I have been having trouble with gmap catcher not wanting to load maps or download them either. I tried a reinstall but it did not help. I'll try and look into it later.
@@lift-offrcaviation2852 Thank you! Glad to know I'm not the only one. I tried the "separate maps folder" option with all the maps highlighted as "1"/on, but no-luck. If you figure it, definitely spread the word. I'll let you know if I crack the code.👍
