I was honestly a bit shocked about their conversation regarding SAO. Didn’t know it was so hated. Personally I love all the SAO seasons and spin-offs. I guess I have trash taste.
The toothbrush scene in nisemonogatari is apparently why it almost got it banned from being released here in the UK. It BARELY got past the ratings board.
I just find it impressive that that scene actually has a narrative reason for being in the show, it’s not exactly just blatant fanservice but it’s fanservice with a reason xD
@@htoras_ I see you haven't read/watched the whole Monogatari series. In some ways I find it superior to Katanagatari, though, on the contrary, there are some things Katanagatari does better. Bakemonogatari is just the first installment, so it honestly doesn't mean that the full series is like it (which it both is and isn't).
i've watched a bit of Katanagatari and the dialogue didn't seem that important especially compared to monogatari where the dialogue is the most important part.
@@pforgottonsoul Mm, I suppose. However, dialogue is just as crucial in Medaka Box based on what I have consumed. It is one of the few works of his I have not looked far into, alongside Bishounen Tandeidan. I would say his usage of dialogue outshines most of his other works in Ningyou ga Ningyou, actually, however the casual Nisio storytelling is placed best in Densetsu. Personally, I have a bit of bias towards Sekai as a mystery fan myself, and I also adored Zaregoto for similar reasons, admittedly.
The whole entire film trilogy is amazing, but the fact that they made fun of him for giving Bakemonogatari a higher score than Baccano definitely got a surprise out of me.
@@Exel3nce Agreed people ignored the shit story over the hype animation only good installment in Alicezation series was war of the underworld part 1 mainly cause kirito was a vegetable it had potential but part 2 threw it all in garbage and went back to kirito going OP for the 100th time
First half of season 1 was pretty good then it turned to shit. FIrst half of season 2 was fun then it got boring. I dropped it after s2 just wasn't for me I guess
Clannad season 1 is mind numbing boring! It's not that I cannot watch slice of life drama show, I watch Your Name, A place Further than the Universe, Zombieland Saga etc. But clannad is just boring, I have to force myself to watch all episodes 24 to see if there is some kind of plot twist in the end. In the first 10 episode before the opening there is some kind of fore shadowing about a girl and a robot, I an expecting the robot and girl have some kind of plot twist in the story!
@@rjproduction486 Even if you say the first season is boring I would still advise you to watch after story. There's been a lot of people like you who don't like the first season but were mind blown with the second season. And what I'm talking about isn't the supernatural element (the girl and the robot) but the concept of family and the way it made people cry like crazy.
@@HHcz My problem with clannad is. The way girl and robot portrayed it seems they are fore shadowing something for a plot twist. But in the end, the girl and robot is just a book story the mc girlfriend just read in her childhood. And the Fuko arc is kinda confusing, sure it has some warm moments, But they did not explain how fuko was able to communicate. Is she a ghost? Astral Projection? Their imaginations? But that can't be right? Because the parents of the girl with the bakery was able to interact with her. But some how they forget her? What's the deal with that?
Can't disagree. I don't rate tens so it's a 6/10 for me. Wasn't terrible, but definitely wasn't the best. As was said in the video, high ratings for the show are generally given by twelve-year-olds and women.
@@joshricaborda1014 It wasn’t even angsty, it was comedic and funny, and the characters were all pretty good, the only angsty part was the annoying side kick character, but I don’t believe one bad character can ruin a good show
In the future past: The boys' seeing Connor's 3x3. They call him basic and a normie. Because they know all his likes. When we have this as evidence that they don't. Garnt in the podcast before the future: You liked ****? I never knew.
I feel like a boomer whenever someone mentioned SAO being the first video game anime, as i watched .hack//sign when it came out. Granted i think .hack is way better.
"Honestly, the tooth brush scene, I feel like it birthed so many degenerates." -Garnt 2021 I couldn't have phrased it any better lmao. There are a lot of langages in the world, but he chose to speak facts.
There are two types of people who watch SAO. There are those who watched the show, enjoyed it, but overtime recognised it's flaws but can still enjoy it for what it is and still identify when it does good stuff. Then there are those that who enjoyed at first, saw it flaws, and that became all they see, exaggerate how bad those flaws are, and be blind to anything the show actually does good.
Ehh no , sadly the bad are really overweighting the good by miles. There is really not that many "good" in sao other than maybe animation and music but even the "good" part is not even that "great" either .
@@bluebro7201 Mother's Rosario, Ordinal Scale, and Alicization are all objectively good arcs. Sword Art Online Alterntive: Gun Gail Online was also an actually good spin off too. But notice how people almost never talked about those arcs, but instead mainly focus on Fairy Dance and Gun Gail.
@@user-cf9gh3nn5y I strongly disagree. The only aspect of SAO's flaws that I do believe outweigh it's positive aspects is how so many females characters get sexually assaulted just to motivate the male characters. Other than that, SAO has flaws that can be found in MANY other anime (some even worser offenders), yet they don't get criticised nearly as much as SAO does for them. This is just a fact. I also do have to question how many of these "bad" aspects are legitimate because due to the hate culture this anime has, I find that a lot of issues that people point out are either exaggerated or not even true. As an SAO fan, I admit that it's not great, but its definitely far from being bad overall.
To each their own like but loving katanagatari yet giving the monogatari series a mid score is mind boggling to me. I have lived under the wholehearted assumption that if you are in to one you are in to the other and if ones not your thing then the same goes for the other.
2:27 Bruh, I literally watched Steins;Gate right after watching Sword Art Online (S1) and there's no fcking way they deserve the same rating 💀 Sword Art Online is like a 2-3/10 while Steins;Gate is a 10/10 masterpiece.
I have watched most of the Pokemon anime (even the rough BW at times) but even I rate it 8/10 at most - it's hook is more of its lax adventure and Pokemon being animated, and the habit of just following Ash's story, and also his companions, but it isn't really "great".
He did it a long time ago and perhaps he hadn't seen that much. Now he can give a better opinion due to his experience and the fact that so many years have passed. At least he says what he will rate them now. It's not like Joey's trash taste.
man the comeuppance in this video is great also C Control is a great anime that not enough people talk about I'm not sure why the boys here were clowning it
@@MGNew 🤣 You know when people say take a break during studying and sleep well, I say screw all that cause i just finished half a years worth of worl in 2.5hrs with minimal breaks, my best record since I've started my trial exams I can't wait to get my chance for chemistry, I'm gonna stay up from firday
@@MGNew Its cool to hate on SAO but in reality SAO at worst is still better than most trash getting released. Like the guy above giving Overlord a 10 as if any of the flaws people ascribe to SAO dont also apply to 80% of other modern shows. Sure, SAO isn't a masterpiece, it ain't Berserk, but it's not mid either. It's always been an entertaining slightly above average show with a cool premise that will attract abig audience. Its cool to hate shit thats popular tho, especially for people like trash taste who dont even consume anime so have no real perspective. I'd actually compare SAO more to something like demon slayer.
Have you read the novels? Another Nisio Isin series I can recommend is (if you haven't already read/watch Monogatari) the Zaregoto series. It takes literally every aspect of Nisio Isin that you can't help but love and puts it into a "whodunnit" type story on acid. Try it.
After watching 150 anime i just stopped watching new shows. I really need these guys to recommend me good ones so I can break the 150 curse. It’s been YEARS! BUT THEY ARE ALWAYS MESSING AROUNDDDD. HOW DO I TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY AAAGH. Correction 216 but I only finished 123 lol I’m so weak and nitpicky. It doesn’t help I got into to BL along the way. Agh
