Appreciate the videos, as a Canadian it's far too easy to get the wrong idea about our legal system based on American media. I hope I never need the knowledge you provide, but I'm glad I have it.

The answer is always "No, if we're talking we're talking outside at MY convenience." I'm Canadian, but distrust of authority is one if the best reasons why Americans own guns.

A stolen U-Haul was found and in the area, a woman was moving in and she had boxes on her lawn so police stopped and asked her how she moved and the woman said her daughter had rented a truck. Police asked for the receipt and since it was raining slightly she asked them to come in. She produced the receipt and then they asked if she had a recipt for the TV so while looking for that they noticed she had some native cigarettes so they arrested her and she got a $450.00 fine... she should have not talked to them at all, just because a stolen trailer was found near her is not grounds enough for a search warrant...... PRICKS.

$450 is a steep fine, that definitely sucks for the woman. But the police didn’t need a search warrant, it’s called the plain view doctrine. Possessing cigarettes that don’t have a federal tax stamp is an offense, so the woman really should not have allowed the police into her home. The police were just doing their job, the law is the law, so I can’t fault them too much here.

@@mike62mcmanus I don’t know; I wasn’t there. I could speculate, but that probably wouldn’t be very helpful. You’d have to speak to the officers about the specific details of their investigation.

If witnesses gave statements stating you were impaired they can and will arrest you.

Listen: police will use any ,any excuse ,listen, any, to lay charges, that is what they do. Hot pursuit is only one way police use .

What if your kids or spouse opens the door for the police? Any obligation then for you to give a test? Would they be allowed to enter for any reason at that point without a warrant?
@lezhu6856
@lezhu6856 3 года назад
kids can't legally give consent to enter so any incriminating evidence they find is inadmissible if spouse then its gg

Ok, so what if my toddler dialled 911 by accident and you had know idea until they show up. Once we all realize what had happened, are they still aloud to come in and search my house to “make sure everyone is safe”? Can I say no? Also, if I’m a passenger in my GF’s truck and she gets pulled over can they ask for my ID as well? I live in Ontario Canada 🇨🇦. These are questions I’ve always wanted to know. I’m not a thug or criminal but I see and hear things and it kinda bugs me. I was asked for ID though when my friend got pulled over. It was just a simple traffic stop (slightly speeding) lol.

If your toddler was distressed (even if innocuously) they have duty to make sure everything is fine. just bring the child to the door to confirm all is well. Sometimes they may show up even if you say it was a misdial on the phone

I'm feeling like they can't enter unless they have "probably cause"... which is a broad term.

If you're looking for a "hot" topic, at least in my books, is that it is illegal to lie to police, but police can legally lie to me, by commission or omission. Why is this allowed?

And when the RCMP show up at my door demanding to search and inspect simply because I have a firearms license? My guns havent left the house in several months, but there are some people that know I have guns in my home. They get pissed off at me and call the RCMP and make up some bullshit story...?
