Conservative Manifesto - what can one MP achieve?
It's often said that one single MP can't change a lot, but the Conservative Party manifesto that was launched today shows that's absolutely not true.
So many of the things that I've campaigned for in my time as an MP are in this manifesto - showing that one dedicated and courageous voice can bring about change.
Here are 6 things that are in the manifesto that are a direct result of my campaigns:
⏬ An annual legal cap on migration, with numbers falling each year
⚖ Leave the ECHR if it stands in the way of the Rwanda Plan
🛠 Boost apprenticeships by cutting back on low quality degrees
📵 An effective ban on smartphones in schools
📖 Give parents the legal right to view RSHE materials
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Increase the number of families eligible for Child Benefit
🚺 Protect women's single sex spaces
All of these show how much I have been able to achieve as an MP, and how I'll continue to fight for the things that matter if I'm re-elected.
This is on top of all the other really important and exciting policies in the manifesto - tax cuts for working people, pensioners protected with the Triple Lock Plus, major increases in defence spending, more investment in police, education and the NHS, and more money to upgrade transport and high streets in our towns and villages.
If you want to read more about my work on all these areas, and why they're so important, you can visit my website:

I recall David Davis voting against a private members' bill for us to leave the ECHR but there were 70 Conservative MPs who voted for us to leave the ECHR. If 71 Conservative MPs attended the debate on the private members' bill to leave the ECHR, we can calculate the number of Conservative MPs who did not attend by subtracting those who attended from the total number of Conservative MPs: 356 (total Conservative MPs) −71 (attended)=285 (did not attend) Therefore, 285 Conservative MPs did not turn up for the debate on whether we should leave the ECHR.
