@@getturnt1693 or be British! Britain has a long and venerable history of strength atheltics, boasting Geoff Capes, Terry Hollands, and Eddie Hall to name just a few! All over 1.9m and pushing if not exceeding 200kg in weight ;-).

I used to be more into powerlifting but I've definitely switched sides. Strongman is much more fun and entertaining to watch.

It is such a pity that Chad can't do Strongman anymore. I think WSM with CWS would have been the most amazing thing ever.

Great vid. Just joined a strongman/powerlifting gym and they have tons of different equipment for both sports. This was a great video and thanks for being so informative, Mr. Smith.

Could you do a brief video on how to implement strongman movements into a powerlifting program, for say addressing weakness or simply just to have fun with something as different as strongman that wouldn't impede powerlifting too much?

Discovered this channel a few weeks ago, absolutely love it. No bro science, no bullshit. Just very pro people studying numbers in sports. Sometimes I fantasize about moving to California and train there, where I live (Barcelona, Spain) there are very few gyms, or not at all depending on the location, that are into Olympic weightlifting or Strong man. My stats are nothing but still would love to be taught by you guys the Clean&Jerk, the Snatch, to move damn rocks and do farmer walks. One day maybe!

Hey Chad ! Awesome Video ! I'm a huge fan of strongman training ! Waiting for the strongman series ! I'd be glad to hear your thougts on strongman training for helping build some aerobic capacity if you're a powerlifter on a more general training phase ! And maybe some considerations about it.... Wish you guys the best and thanks for the content !

When a sport requires multiple qualities to succeed, training multiple qualities at once is useful. When it doesn't, it isn't.

Thoughts on Advanced German High Volume training?
@nickkraw1

If you trained and competed in such an intelligent way, why do you think that you sustained the injuries that you did, and how could an individual who is interested in competing minimise risk for those injuries?
@JuggernautTrainingSystems
@JuggernautTrainingSystems 7 лет назад
Nick Kraw I just pushed it too hard and didn't listen to the warnings signs my body was screaming at me. From Nov 2013 to May 2013, I won NAS Nationals, competed at LA Fit Expo in my first pro show, squatted 700x10 in the animal cage at the Arnold, did a powerlifting meet at SuperTraining, did a Giants Live qualifier in Vegas and then a powerlifting meet in Kentucky where i totaled 2170 which was a PR at the time. Then I popped 2 discs in June. The training was great and made me very strong and perform well on the days that mattered but for awhile it was compete, take 3 light days, train hard 2.5 weeks, taper for a week, compete, repeat. I just did too much.
@JuggernautTrainingSystems
@JuggernautTrainingSystems 7 лет назад
To minimize that risk, be honest with yourself, take a month after competition to address injuries and movement problems and do some more general/fun training.

Happy New Year from this Vegas Strong Woman (but really from Midwest)...just found this channel. You are hilarious! I am considering training for StrongWoman Competing this year. I currently pull 275 for stifflegged Deads, 1 arm rows between 75lbs-100lbs...I have always trained this way and think I should use it to compete...What do you think? Thanks for your channel looking forward to watching you, hopefully you will be watching ME soon. :-) Cheers~

Yep, just different energy systems bud. Honestly most people mock what they lack and training alternative energy systems is a great way to improve your ability to recover from training and increase your ability to do more work in a shorter period of time.

Ever heard of Jón Páll or Magnús Ver? Icelandic competitors have done 8 x 1st place, 7 x 2nd place and 4 x 3rd place UK has 5 x 1st place, 2 x 2nd place and 8 x 3rd place. UK also have 200x more people than Iceland. More people live in Stoke on Trent (Eddie's home town) than live in Iceland.
