Console Wars - Captain America and the Avengers - Super Nintendo vs Sega Genesis 

The Sega game was done by Data East. This was an easy win for the Genesis.

There's nothing better than watching this show eating some delicious Pizza.

I used to own the SEGA Genesis version of this game myself and surprised that it's better than the Super Nintendo version.

This was a great video! Capt. America and the Avengers was such a fun game...on the Genesis! Those voice overs were ridiculous but definitely part of the charm of the game.

Dat backwards intro, topped only by that ending XD Shame I only played the SNES version. Guess I should check out the Genesis version as well. Look forward to the nest one. People have wanting that one for a long time.

That golden shower was pretty hilarious! I can't decide which version to get. I usually prefer the SNES version, but the Genesis one does seem better. The temporary invincibility on the SNES baddies does sound like a deal breaker, though. Once again, great episode guys!

wow that's interesting how the same arcade game had two different publishers porting it to the home system. I think the enemy flickering is the big deal breaker for the snes version.

This game brings me back to 2013, when I reviewed both games. I do have to mention that the flicker time on your own character is FAR shorter on the SNES version, which utterly ruined the game for me. Great analysis by the way! Can't wait for the next episode ;)

The intro for this one was really well done, it was one of my favorites so far. I also liked the ending with Sam (and major props for her wearing the Mega Man shirt!). Anyway, I used to own this game for SNES, but I didn't care for it, so I eventually traded it in for store credit at an old local video game store. I think I may end up buying the Genesis version at some point, though, because it looks more playable.

Awesome episode! I've only ever played the Genesis version, which I'm glad to see mopped the floor with the competition, and I'm always on the lookout for the collector's pin that came included.

Where's TurboGrafix...? you need a 3rd wheel...for the rare game that hit all 3...plenty of sega vs turbo...but all 3 can be tuff...mario vs sonic vs bonk...

While I've already seen reviews of both versions of this game, I was really looking forward to your take on this battle. This game has a reputation as being bad, but I enjoyed it back in the day and still do. I got this one on a blind hunch shortly after I got my Genesis never regretted it. I got a lot of enjoyment out of it then and still play it. I love the music in the Genesis version. The SNES version is even more disappointing since it came out quite a bit later, and possibly on a larger cart. Clearly some bad decisions were made in its development. Another fun episode, guys. I always look forward to these. Thank you, Console Wars!.

console wars, if you have a interest at cinematic platformer,(which is probably one of the most minor genre in the video game history) can you compare genesis and SNES version of flashback : the quest for identity ? it's probably the only game that everything is better on genesis.

Fantastic episode, I knew the Genesis version would win. Also what makes the Genesis version better is that it has 7 continues where as the SNES version has up to 5, making it even harder than ever.

Even though I've played both versions back in the day but not at a close span of time to fairly compare, I would've never guessed the SNES version would take an L here. However this comparison between the two games clearly displays that version's gameplay shortcomings against the Sega version. Great vid as always guys and my prediction for the next Konami classic is going for the SNES version! P.S. Wow, hard to believe it's been under a month already since the last episode XD ; Anyway, I love what you guys did for the intro, I imagine it took a while to get it the way you guys wanted it XP ; One more thing, if I may ask... have you guys considered making more themes for each different category, like make one theme and play it for Best Graphics, another one for Best Presentation, etc.? (I don't mean use the game music like you did in the old days, but I mean make your own music for each category)

I remember the Genesis version having some epic music, i think it was even better then the Arcade version.

NICE! I new SEGA was gonna clean house on this one!!!!! So much better than the SNES version. The music on the SEGA version is so much better and also I think the controls are also a bit more responsive than the SNES version. and also hence why Team Sega guy was dressed up as Captain America in the thumb nail/intro.

This has to be an extremely rare case where the Genesis port wins IMHO. To me, the biggest thing the Genesis has going for it is that it seems like they tried to replicate the look and presentation of the original arcade with most changes being mandated by the limitations of the hardware, whereas the SNES version has a number of changes in these areas that seem rather arbitrary. When discussing a port, similarity to the original game is of key importance IMHO, so for that reason I would probably give the presentation nod to Genesis as well.

Buster Bust Loose vs. Buster's Hidden Treasure? I know it's Tiny Toons related. My childhood would kick the crap out of me if I didn't know that.

You know... Its kinda weird that you didn't review the SNK Fighting games yet, Like Fatal Fury 1 and 2 and Art of Fighting 1 and 2. Maybe try those out when you get the chance.

Please do an episode on john madden football 94. I loved that game on genesis as a child, but and as an adult I have recently bought a Snes to see all that ive missed out on. I actually love my snes and in many cases i want it to win, but with this game i feel the genesis smokes snes, and i was honestly cheering for snes.

So excited for this Tiny Toons episode next! I was starting to think you guys ignored my comments suggesting it all the time. Both games are so good, but even though I'm a Sega guy at heart, Buster Busts Loose is the winner.
