You are doing well each process dose have its pros ans cons but by useing the same wood again it seves materials where you can as i have been in ghana many times there needs to be a sizing of the timber according to its useis which inturn save the trees there needs to be a testing centre so depending on what you are going to do that size of wood can be used like say 4x2 for the roofs

We use the concrete poker when we did the casting of our columns. If you look at this video, there is a part where the concrete poker can be seen on the site.
This stage is usually handled by the Architect. Most Architects and not just ours, make it a point to provide 3D images of the completed structure. By the time we begin construction, this stage has already been completed and the client knows what they are getting at the end of the project
