Best flea treatment I ever used. Hands down. After about a week or two, no fleas in site or on pets for years.

Just to be clear: If you watch the entire video, I am NOT condemning the use of this or any other boric acid based product for flea control. It's just a warning, and yes I probably deserve to be called an idiot for not being more careful, but I followed the directions and the result was unpleasant. I did not observe any fleas in the areas treated after and I haven't died of cancer yet. :P But you should do your own research and not listen to anecdotal evidence: medlineplus.gov/ency/article/002485.htm healthyliving.azcentral.com/how-toxic-is-boric-acid-to-humans-12277449.html

I have this to say...we used the product 20 years ago or so. We have not had a flea problem since, never had any issues with the cats or humans living in this home. However, we got new carpet recently and now the fleas are back. All I know is this product is a great product and works for the lifetime of the carpet.

@@dougenosh6772 I mention boric acid options in my other video. Never said they don't work. Glad that you had that level of success with it. Sounds like it was preventing them from getting a hold in your house.

I truly appreciate this post that you’ve made. Just as people love good reviews, it’s nice to get a warning review just in case someone else has this same issue. So thank you so much!

I've been using fleabusters for over 25 years. It works wonderfully. You do need to use common sense when applying it but it is the best, most safe flea treatment around, even once you have an infestation. The nematodes work very well for the outside. When applying the powder, it is important to hold the container low to the floor and not stir up a ton of dust, which I have a feeling is what happened when you were applying it yourself. Awesome, awesome product!

I've been using it for almost 20 years I have 4 kids and a grand child and it never hurt anyone. I also had dogs, cats and ferrets and a chinchilla and never hurt them. I used a plastic bottle like one you buy to put mustard and ketchup in. I cut the hole bigger and I dust every part of my house, the furniture EVERYTHING. Only problem I ever had was when dusting like that you do breath some in. My mouth and lips got like a little numb but never anything else. I have asthma and had no breathing problems. Maybe this time I'll wear a paper mask .. I'm 65 and this is the best flea killer I ever had. It's been over 10 years since I had to use it, yes worked that long for me, probably 15 years. We just found fleas on our dog so now is the time to stop them before they spread. Paul

I wouldn't use anything other than FLEA BUSTERS. I'm ordering some now as maintenance in advance of the hot summer months ahead. It works really well and I've never, ever had any problem with it making me or my four cats sick. Yes, it's a bit dusty but only until it settles and, personally, I prefer the dust to fleas. If you shake it out from waist height, I can see a dust ball coming back at you but good old logic dictates that this is not a great idea. Bend over, squat down, get on your knees, call a friend, get a little closer to the surface or hire the company to apply it. I christened a turkey baster (wrote NOT FOR FOOD all over it in red Sharpie and store it with the product) so I can get it under my baseboards and cabinets. Word has spread in the flea community and FLEAS FEAR FLEA BUSTERS.

I've done over 400 treatments with no call backs, where a mask, sprinkle it out and rub in with a stiff broom and then vacuum 3 days and dump container in toilet. Problem solved in 3 days and it lasts one year in the bottom of carpet to control eggs and larvae. This guy is definitely not a do it yourself person.

I had fleas on me. I used it like baby powder. I put it in the drawers with my clothes. I put it in my hair. It's in my truck. I use it in my food. I use this on my wittle baybee instead of talcum powder. I snort the dang stuff. What's the issue mon?

Description: "Avoid using this stuff unless you know what you're doing." Never did I say it doesn't work. "Consumer Warning" should include the word 'health' since it really should be either done by a professional, or you'll want to wear a mask and vacate and ventilate the room when you're done. Just using your 'shirt' as a mask, did not do the trick.

THIS IS SAFEST TREATMENT AND IT WORKS !!! 10 years used in my rescue for over 25 animals in hot buggy FL. My holistic vet recommends this and even gives a discount to encourage use over toxic poisons. The best way is to have the company apply and they guarantee to come back free for heavy infestations or maintenance applications. Yes it is fine powder to fall deep into tiny crevices and rugs where tiny eggs and bugs are and dry them out which is a long term solution. Always use precautions even if using just all natural salt or baking soda or diatemacious earth ( which do not work.) Use a mask goggles and shower after or wear a painters suit with hood and footies like I do. Use a stiff broom to get it in hoding places. Keep vacuuming and air out area follow directions and call # on jug they are very helpful. Please do not let this guy discourage you. Follow directions and use common sense. Your animals are close to the floor daily you need a safe non-toxic treatment that wont cause neurological damage like most do. Get rid of all plug ins , air freshener and do not use chemicals in your rugs or on floors the animals breathe that and skin absorbs. Vets see skin issues on places where animals lay on ground (paws belly...) think about that. I trust Fleabusters over 10 years in S.FL where we get heavy infestations and I have immune compromised animals which do not use poison spot ons or pills. I rely on Fleabusters amd feed my dogs and cats nutritional/ brewers yeast & raw garlic and homeopathic sulphur and. Use a diy natural flea spray on dogs and bedding we are doing great. Good luck EVERYONE.

oromoctovethospital.com/facts-and-myths-about-flea-control/ Not only is there no clinical evidence that garlic has any effect on fleas, it is a potentially hazardous substance to pets, particularly cats. Garlic is in the allium family, which includes onions, shallots, leeks, and chives. In some animals, these plants can cause severe anemia. Lesser reactions could include upset stomach, vomiting, and diarrhea.

oromoctovethospital.com/facts-and-myths-about-flea-control/ While brewer’s yeast is not toxic to pets, it is equally lacking in evidence of any effectiveness against fleas. As remedies against fleas, both garlic and brewer’s yeast survive in folklore through anecdotal reports, despite research studies that have disproved their value.

It gave me a skin condition for a year. My mom uses it and used it in our childhood home. It's safe and works well I usually vacuum after only 24 hours. Anyway my brother and I were wrestling after my mom had treated and for a full year anytime my skin touched a jagged surface I would get a welt and itch and scrathing it would make it worse. I had to take zyrtec to control the itching. The doctors were baffled. So it's safe works great again but you do need to be careful.

@Suzzanne Cleveland: It is better than anything. I have used it for years. If you call their 800 number they will help you troubleshoot and answer any questions you have. Ditenaceous earth (sp) is supposedly good as well but I only have experience with Rx for Fleas. And this os much cheaper thany any other flea control. Good luck!

I use Flea Stoppers and it is the same stuff and it works great! Boric acid is relatively non-toxic for people and animals. The way it works is that its molecular charge makes it stick (static cling) to tiny insect bodies (ants, ticks, fleas, roaches, lice, etc.) and it sucks the water out of them. It dehydrates them. That's it! It doesn't poison them, it dries them out and it works great! It is NOT insecticide poison which is highly toxic and dangerous. That's the way poison works - it throws a wrench into cell chemistry and makes it fail. Boric acid simply dries things out. I wouldn't eat it, or roll around in it, or put it in a Hookah pipe, but that's about as far as you need to go in avoiding it. I think this guy is a hypochondriac and his symptoms are psychosomatic and I'm not intending to be disrespectful, just factual. It is very true that people's minds can be just as powerful as physical stimuli. The 'placebo effect' is very real!

I got this because I didn't want to use anything extremely toxic around my kid. I am one of those unfortunate individuals like this fellow who seem to react to this product. Walking around barefoot on my carpet I got chemical burns on my feet. I am also asthmatic and just the fine dust in the room was making my chest tight and my lungs burn hours after the application. Not saying it didn't work for others just not me

I followed instructions and read a lot of reviews to make sure the product is safe for my family as I have 3 years old toddler. Per instructions, it states it is safe to use around kids. After I applied powder on my carpets, I had to book a hotel room to spend the night with my family because it was hard to breath in the house. Next day I vacuumed all my carpets twice to make sure the powder is partially removed. At 5am I was woken up from hearing my toddler had had time breathing, like having some spasms in his throat. My sister also mentioned having difficulty breathing. I had to call 911 b/c my baby was nonresponsive, drooling saliva, and gasping for air. Non of my family members have any respiratory problems. Thanks God, everything turned out fine. BUT, I had to remove ALL my carpets and place new hardwood flooring. Conclusion: Be careful using this product. Boric acid might seem harmless, but in large amount it can be dangerous even in totally healthy individuals.

LOL... It's a 4 minute video. You have to do your research about boric acid (active ingredient). I find it questionable. If I knew someone whom had a serious infestation, I might recommend it, but only if it was professionally applied. It is simply not something you want to take lightly when applying the treatment. I made that mistake and want people to be sure not to make the same I did. Aside from following the directions to the letter, be sure to use a legitimate fume mask and give the room plenty of time air out.

LOL. Ok 1. I don't even monetize my channel. 2. I never returned the product. 3. If you actually listened really to what I'm saying (consumer warning does not equal don't use), the bottom line is, you shouldn't use this product without proper protection. This was my bad. Boric acid IS TOXIC (internaly). Boraxo (soap) is also boric acid based. But obviously, if you wear proper protection (like I didn't or get it done professionally) and apply it with enough window of time for it to not be in the air, you should be fine. I never said this doesn't kill fleas. Just "warning" consumers about it's use. Quote: "I don't want to condem this as a flea treatment."
