“1500-2000 without starving”? I was on 1500, and had to drop down to 800 before I saw any shift in weight. If I ate 1800, I would easily put on 10 pound a month

@@AlphaGeekgirl I would bet money you would not! Check out my lecture on metabolic adaptation. 800 calories a day is way to low. Calories needed for weight-loss = 12 x your goal body weight.

I have an aversion to coffee and tea now. Also, I have really cut down on on-line shopping. Just doesn’t appeal much to me since on Contrave.

We prescribe it for patients for smoking cessation. It is “the” stop smoking Rx.

**update I have lost 24 lbs in 60 days on contrave!!! I have not had a binge episode since I started taking it and it has changed my life. Seriously.

Update now 35 lbs down!

Update: 42.7 lbs down! Went from 270 to 227.3 from January 1st 2023 until now June 7th 2023.

Yes unfortunately. It is not as bad as regular opioids but certainly a concern.

@@lindamcgraw6762 I made it to the full dosage and haven’t noticed any benefits at all! The pharmacist told me to try dispersing the pills throughout the day and see if that helps. I know how you feel. I hope you find success!

I take anastrolzole for adjutavant therapy after BC. The muscle and joint pain from that drug was pretty tough. Once I started on Contrave, within two days the joint and muscle pain was gone. I beleive the Naltrexone has analgesic properties.

Really tough to say. It would depend on a lot of factors. Generally I find younger individuals have an easier time losing.

I had already been taking buproprion and Lexapro. My Dr. just added Naltrexone. Naltrexone + buproprion is the same as Contrave.

Hi Sam we have Contrave in the UK. It’s called MySimba here, same meds different name. I purchased from Private Doctor website £119.99. 112 tablets. Actually I purchased it last week and yet to start.

@@TheFriendlyPsychopath I have colitis and I was in remission until I took ozempic I did some research and found out the new semiglutide Monjourno has a warning label stating not to take it if you have colitis. I realize that Monjourno is stronger but still anyone with colitis should not take Ozempic

Maybe. There are a number of other things to consider such as dietary patterns and activity levels. If we haven't fully optimized those Contrave won't provide much additional benefit.

It can be yes. However, I would check with doctor on your specific situation and ensuring it does interfere with reasons for why you need B12 shots and HCG.

Well fasting itself can stimulate insulin levels. As your body produces the necessary glucose/energy it needs insulin is going to be released into the blood stream. The components of the contrave do not stimulate insulin though. However, this medication can cause some nausea especially when starting it so it is recommended to take it with food to try and mitigate.

no it won't break your fast. the ingredients in contrave will not cause an insulin spike. i'm currently on contrave while doing an OMAD Keto diet. as for the glucose part, your body can make it's own glucose from the glyceral backbone of fat from your fat stores, so no it won't break a fast.

Take it with food and a motion sickness pill and you won’t get nauseated.

It is impossible to say. It provides support and makes it easier to make dietary changes but it is up to you the individual how many changes you can sustainably make!

@@theofficialdrdan Well I lost 40 kg in less than 6 nonth just eating clean, resulting in ketogenic diet. With fasting as a result of being full. You don't eat because your not hungry. Had no problem before first pill. Then the hunger started... If 1 in 1000 is rare... that is pretty common if you ask me... Dying of Covid-19 is much less, and we restrict nations... what is it 1 in 100k? So it's a down play. If you can't goand party with your friends now and then... What's the point of having friends? Self isolated because your on a, probably high addictive drug, that an male you loose job and life... Also go cold turkey on this drug... have heard that's just plain nasty... As that is what happens after 16 weeks and most people don't have any effect... This is stuff you get to know after you started the treatment. Also don't really know if my doctor want me to have alot of energy... never ends well... Also tried doctors diet plan... tried it for years, starving have never been the option, but is still in practice... Actually all these operations and pills are the same ball park, starve your way down in weight. Stopp starving and you gain all Kg back with vengeance... It's 95% food, 5,% is fysical movement... And fat is the enemy. No my friend sugar is! Fat is something your body actually needs. Sugar is the only crap our bodies can make by it self. So I stopped listening to doctors that still are stuck I the old way of eating. High carb diets, with alot of starch low fat... Are you stuck there aswell? Also this pill dot repair anything, it just blocks stuff, and you have to be on it for the rest of your life. Also getting good pills to counter side effects, that also comes with their own... Seems pretty counter productive if you ask me. I'm asking you because there is no information out there more than best drug ever... Also people that started channels that was on this drug, stopped... Suicide or just bored of vomiting? No one knows. And no one tells you anything. Just safest drug with little benefits and alot of baggage...

No, no insurance covers Contrave.

A walk around is to have your doctor prescribe Concave components separately. I have 50mg of Naltrexone and 200mg of Bupropion SR (Wellbutrin SR). Dr. Dan has a great video explaining how to separate the two Contrave drugs. 1/2 Naltrexone in AM and 1 whole Wellbutrin in AM. The same dose is taken in the evening. I have lost 49 pounds in 5 months. It absolutely kills appetite and food cravings also go away.

I don't have a specific number for you, but both drugs have been around for a long time with no issues.

Most eating is emotional to some degree. It can certainly work for people in this regard. It depends what is the underlying driver of the emotions and comorbid conditions.

@@theofficialdrdan in my case, I tried Mounjaro and Ozempic. It made me feel full and nauseous if I ate but my stress eating desire stayed the same. So I vomited like crazy and was more anxious because I couldn’t eat. Turns out contrave is a much better fit for me at least and for a lot of people I know that has this stress eating disorders.
