I'm really struggling with understanding this. Why would I go to all this effort for a baked animation that I deem good? What use cases would this have? I liked your video because you haven't led me astray thus far. I just don't see why I'd edit my anim in engine when I can edit in my anim package?

Perfect question. What if you didn’t have a dcc anim package? Ie. Imagine your pipeline was all in unreal engine. Also imagine they weren’t your animations. You downloaded an already complete animation and you want to make changes to it. How do you get that animation back on to a character that has an animation rig. For the last example In Unrrals case. Backward solve. In dcc world your have to export as fbx. Import to DCC (maya ex) then somehow align your anim controls to the fbx. But if you are authoring your own stuff u prob won’t use it as much.
