Here's my speculations based on what we know: Dylan is having visions of the future (He has done this before in the main game). The parade he's talking about is Deerfest since we'll likely to be returning to Bright Falls according to the alert that we received at the end of AWE DLC.
@SuperStoryMode Yes, we still couldn't find the hotline in-game. If I remember correctly, a reddit user had the exact same thought about the "This line is dead" line being a hint why this was never supposed to be accessible through the game.
@systempunk I believe you've made a mistake with regards to the title of this Hotline call; "The Future" is a Hotline call made by The Board during "The Foundation" DLC, after yeeting the Hiss on out of there and fixing their mess...etc.. I figured him saying the line is dead and not being able to hear her, and being unsure whether she hears him, was a reference to him being in a coma. Also the whole part with the tree branching and such, sounds like a reference to the foundation DLC entrance/setting.
Definitely thinking the reference to a woman bright as the sun could be about the potential for Jesse to go supernova like Northmoor did. The Board were already concerned about how powerful she was and tried to prevent her binding more abilities then they deemed safe in The Foundation, and Former gave her a way around that. I half wonder if for the sake of preventing power creep on a mechanical gameplay level if they might use this as an excuse to unbind all the objects of power at the start of a sequel and slowly reintroduce, maybe with “load out” limits.
Having to regain the abilities for the sequel would be really lame imo. You would just be repeating things again which would be a really boring and frustrating route to go for the sequel.
@@725ken on the other hand, aside from the levitation ability and launch, most of the powers were super underwhelming, so I’d kinda like a depowering, so we get new and interesting OOPs, control really ought Lean into its metroidvania energy more than it does imo

@@micahorwhatever3557 Many games have disabled content. Sometimes its just easier to disable something than remove it from the code. This is an interesting clip, but as long as it is not used anywhere there is a reason for it, and that is often that it's no longer relevant. Good examples of this are cut dialogue in Bloodborne and Elden Ring; they're all fascinating but they're all from a version of the story that was scrapped. So it's interesting, but can't be used to figure out anything about the canon plotline.
That would make sense, the hiss and polaris are from projector slides, esentially photos. There is a corresponding datamined live-action video in alan wake 2 but it's meant for dlc so i wont mention what it corresponds to
Ok here's my interpretation: I think the "woman, bright as the sun" might be Polaris judging by the fact that he thinks it could have been Jesse at first, judging by how Polaris appears as Jesse near the end of the game Then it gets replaced by the "thunder resonating"--that's probably the hiss. All the people under its influence mindlessly walk off the cliff and he falls with them as he gets corrupted
Man this is really sad though, this isn't the same angry and vengeful Dylan we see while he's possessed by the Hiss, this feels like Dylan confused and terrified desperately trying to reach out to his sister ;--;
Having now played Alan Wake 2, the fact they added a reference to Spirals this far back is wild, especially considering the direct mentioning of "Mr. Door" in the base game
For what it's worth, both were added in the AWE expansion rather than the base game. But still awesome they plot stuff out. My favorite are the backwards messages in a few of the Old Gods songs.

Perhaps he had a vision of the unedited version of Return, where the dark presence finally gets its story of engulfing the world in dark. The bright presence is something we know about in Alan wake 1 but I’m wondering if he’s having visions of either Alan or Saga ascending to the new bright presence
I’m wondering if Dylan’s coma is actually his astral projection being stuck in the dark place with Alan, or Mr. Door is keeping him for fears that he will spread the hiss somehow
@@imd2565 I'm thinking Alice is the new Bright Presence, having been the source of the bullet of light. Would be odd if it was Alan, since Dylan does say "woman" in the sky. Unless... 🤔
No one has commented on this, but what really gets me on the video is how fearful Dylan seems. We never hear him like this and it's.. Almost scary. What could he have saw that he's not saying? Or is he saying everything and it just made him that scared? I really wonder on this - Y'know? - Mainly because Dylan seems like the least likely person to be like this after all that's happened to him, but something in this dream just absolutely snapped him, and that's kind of worrying. I'm wondering also if this maybe isn't the Deerfest we've seen, and maybe a future one?
I have a theory that the Board will turn on Jessie in Control 2. the Former is physically in The Oldest House now and Jessie hasn't tried to attack or kill it as of the AWE DLC. The Former can now act on its own behalf on the physical plane, and Jessie ( as the new Polaris with powers comparable to the Hiss which successfully attacked the Board in the Astral Plane) is no longer following their orders blindly. The Board can't control Jessie (Polaris), and they can't kill the Former without a vessel on the physical plane. the problem is they still have one : Northmoor. He is still a director of the FBC, which means he can possibly still wield the service weapon. I think Northmoor will be our big bad in Control 2, and Jessie will end up tearing down the oldest house ( and the Board by extension) to stop him.
Except you can attack/"kill" the Former in the Foundation DLC. When he shows up for a chat after allowing you the second ability, you can instead attack and fight him there as a boss instead of talking to him. This leads to him not assisting you in the final boss fight, and different lines from Jesse. Probably not canon though. Additionally, Northmoor apparently resigned as director and relegated himself to powering the oldest house within the NSC Powerplant (Northmoor Sarcophagus Container) reactor.
I'm a little curious as to whether or not this was something purposefully unused ingame, intended to be seen via end user datamining. Then again, I'm a fan an indie game series where the developer actively throws in a lot of that sort of thing, so perhaps i'm going into this one with some undue expectations. Dylan actively mentioning the inability to communicate certainly suggests a degree of deliberateness here.
Polaris was saying "grow brighter" to Jesse in main game. Maybe she really did. I am not sure is polaris really benovalent or not. But exposure/interaction with Polaris changes Jesse. And i think that Dylan was not really completely under the influence of Hiss, otherwise he wouldnt gave up himself or could kill everyone whie escaping(second time). I think he just lost it. He was vengeful he wanted to destroy bureau and board for ruining his life. Wanted to destroy polaris for not helping/saving him during all events. I think game is really good at story telling and character development. We have an adult whose life is ruined/taken from him by bureau/board. You can't do it alone and your best chance is allying with Hiss. They turned Dylan into to purely destrcutive entity,, destroying everything including himself. So i can easily say that we don't know enough about dirty secrets of bureau/board, we have no idea what really polaris is(i mean how life exist in that universe , are they mortal or partially immortal, is there a life goal they consider like humans do) And finally, Jesse is naive,stubborn,rebellious character. It makes her open to make deadly mistakes. I am sure that at a point Board or Polaris won't be saving her when she needs to be saved or maybe Jesse will have no use to them anymore. I don't think that Jesse will have normal,peaceful death or some kind of "ending" , but i dont think that she will end up like Northmoor . Because they don't share same nature , Jesse is not a megolamaniac , even her self-esteem is considerably low, she counts on polaris too much. So in summary that bright woman is Jesse and probably Polaris will be responsible for it.
Theory sort of?? Also some spoilers. Roots inside the buildings are from the World Tree/Multiverse branches. Bright light of "Jesse" possibly future Jesse extremely powerful. Moon is a spiral...Alan Wake. Parade is Deerfest. I dunno...man.... It just seems like this dream/vision Dylan had is of another reality or multiple realities jumbled up. He did see the World Tree with the roots, that's for sure.
I love this. Through most of the game, Jesse and Dylan think Polaris is the resonance entity Darling calls Hedron. Polaris is their really their ESP. Jesse's is much more powerful, and Dylan is upset he can't make contact or escape. Jesse, on the other hand, can sense Dylan calling from far away and finds him. When talking about the parade i could swear he starts to say "grow brighter". That's what Jesse says later when she realizes polaris is part of her own mind. Hearing Thunder during the parade seems like Tor used his hammer at Deerfest, and Dylan saw it. Scratch wanted an eternal deerfest, and might have used the hiss to get it.
Maybe the moon is physically where the dark presence resides (stealing light as it steals art and life). The roots rising from the ground may be indicative of Ahti’s power/influence (the force of Good) rising up in the end to fight the dark presence. We understand it is finnish mythology and that the yggdrasil Tree is indicative of ahti/the force of good. Additionally if spiral is coming down from the moon, I resist the idea that it’s Jesse. Perhaps it may be the “not mother” who we haven’t heard of since the events of the slidescape AWE incident. So many fun a creative ways to go about it. Im just happy to play🤷🏽♂️😂. Please add ingame location/reference for this line in description 🙏.
Yggdrasil is Norse mythology, not Finnish. The in-game location cannot be added because like the video description says, it can't be found in-game, it can only be found in code.
