"There are no plans on the table right now to update the translation." Thank you Thomas Nelson. This is indeed unique and a very strong point in favor of the NKJV. One of the worst features in today's Bible market is the overwhelming number of editions of popular Bible translations. If you pick up an ESV, you never know if what you are reading is really the ESV anymore or not. It's confusing and lacks transparency on the part of the publisher to have multiple editions of one translation. I am in favor of renaming editions (ex. ESV vs. ESV-CE) because you can distinguish them. But when two both Bibles say "ESV" and they have different texts, that's when I have an issue. Also, the Orthodox love the NKJV, especially for its New Testament.

@bretclement3197 Месяц назад
I remember a few years ago that the ESV said they would stop updates to make it a stable text. Shortly thereafter they announced they had changed their mind. Perhaps the ESV should have two streams of Bible (I know, I know there are already too many translations but hear me out please). One stream is basically what they do now. The best scholarship they can muster based on most recent findings, updated when they see fit. The other stream is a TR stream. By nature the TR doesn’t need updating unless an error in translation is found. Those who favour the TR or stability would probably go with that stream and it would be close enough to the other one that churches could use the ESV and keep both camps happy. Tim, if you’re reading this and agree, would you consider using your platform to suggest this to Crossway?

My number one Bible is the Nelson NKJV Verse by Verse Classic Center-Column Reference Bible. I do not find the center column distracting at all, and love the close proximity of the references to the text. The red letter verse numbers in the center column make it especially easy to find the references. The layout is perfect and the red chapter names and numbers, and the red pericope titles, are most helpful as well as beautiful. I use it every day, along with the Nelson KJV Sovereign Edition. And, I also use a hardcopy of the NET Full Notes Edition. Thank you, Dr. Nation, for your dedication to preserving the integrity of the NKJV! Blessings!🙏📖

The NKJV comes so close to the magnificent KJV in accuracy and beauty of language and hopefully will never fall into the greed trap of pointless revision . The NKJV since 1983 stands head n shoulders with the KJV as the pinnacle of translation greatness

Please don’t even “think” of changing the NKJV for at least one hundred years. Philip Nation, you are absolutely correct, the stability of the unchanged text in the NKJV is its strength. Please don’t mess up by changing things. If the KJV 1611 could go nearly 400 years before the NKJV, surely the NKJV can go 150-200 years. Timothy Frisch! Please, share with Thomas Nelson the comments section of this video. Let our comments serve as a petition (or at least reliable customer feedback) that the Christian community of NKJV bibles does not want an update of the NKJV text. EVERY other Bible already does that. Please.. let this translation remain the unchanging word of God!

The popularity of the end of verse reference Bible should be a signal that vast reference systems are out and aesthetics are in. Unfortunately, there aren't any non-reference options with premium or semi-premium NKJVs. Nelson is missing out on a huge opportunity. Humble Lamb blew it altogether. Time for some single column Heritage, Thinline, and LPUT without references. Full notes, please.

Rev. Dr. Nation, there is a need to remove the NU notes. Also, there is a MASSIVE NEED for the KJV/NKJV Parallel Bible to make its appearance once again.
@Matthew-307
@Matthew-307 Месяц назад
Why would they remove the NU notes? That’s one of the best features of the NKJV is the textual footnotes.
@murrydixon5221
@murrydixon5221 Месяц назад
@Matthew-307 If they actually redo the notes, it will be a long time (if ever) that they would do so again. Nestle-Aland marches on and the rest of the ECM is on the way. Better to instead focus on the Majority and all of the Textus Receptus editions.

What would a revision of the translator notes look like? A strength of the NKJV is the way the notes present the textual differences. Also, if you’re not going to update the translation then how would you update the translators’ notes?
@dayetonlarson8477
@dayetonlarson8477 Месяц назад
Concerning a revision of the notes, and even - perhaps the actual translation..., would be justified if there was a very major archeological finding of manuscripts. But then again - that would take years to sort them out - then later to actually including the new findings in to the text. It would certainly be one massive job!!!

So Thomas Nelson is owned by a secular company that promotes anti biblical agendas. I went to the HarperCollins page and the first thing I saw was their "celebrating pride" advertisement. This does not sit well with me and I am a fan of the NKJV. Does this mean that Thomas Nelson has "sold out"

@captnMorgan41424
@captnMorgan41424 Месяц назад
@@jimyoung9262 Yeah and it sounds like a sell out In that It was about money and not about values (otherwise it wouldn't have been sold to a secular anti biblical company). At the moment HarperCollins is not micromanaging what comes out of Thomas Nelson but that doesn't mean it will always be that way. But supporting Thomas Nelson is de facto supporting HarperCollins. Living in the world we live in we cannot go throughout our lives without giving money to non-christian entities but it definitely feels different when a christian entity is owned by a company that directly supports agendas against the bible and we give them money to get bibles.

Yes, it's probably safer to buy the Donald Trump "God Bless America Bible". Yes, it's the KJV, not the NKJV. But at least you know that demonic forces, like the ones that have satanically taken over Thomas Nelson, aren't present.
