I love hearing about the history and nerdy particulars of how machining has changed over time, and how that effects modern application. don't ever feel like you're talking to much, your knowledge is all solid gold.
Thank you for showing us your technique! Great guidance on bringing old iron up to date for a longer life; rare to find a set of iron heads that has not had a valve job accomplished through the years.
That's Fiuid-Weld, back in the day we would use Copper coat in a can with a brush but now we have FW with space age polymers'. you really don't need anything just the press fit.
Hi, Could you tell me please if you locate off the valve guide or the original bore in the casting. Just thinking that valve guides run out - I recently purchased a set of guides, checking them in a vee block with a clock - had a staggering 10 thou run out! (the factory originals were 1/2 thou). Just thinking that valve guides get changed, so best to machine to the bore in the casting? Thanks, Dave.
How much does it run to replace seats and do a good valve job? I have some heads and several reviews say they drop seats. If it's reasonable I'd like seats and valves. (BBC aluminum heads)
@@MrDanielSolizIf you would at some point it would be greatly appreciated. I just purchased a Winona ph6000 myself. Just setting up a small garage work shop. Any info on the machine is appreciated, thank you.
