Crooked Gap Farm is growing, and not just with new livestock or more markets ... but, with more LAND! I think it is safe to say that it is most farmers dream to add more land to their farm, and we are excited (and nervous) that we have that chance now.

Glad you are back. We are several years into brush clearing and seeding on our ranch. Its a long but satisfying journey. Can't wait to see what you do with this land.

I think I will agree with your summation of the work on your ranch … “a long but satisfying journey”. I prone to get overwhelmed by the size of the project compared to the scale of our farm, but we’re pressing on

We are going to start our first farm in 2025 and we are converting row crop land to pasture as well. I look forward to learning the ups and downs of it through your channel.

That is the plan! I have a couple more videos ready to go on the steps and plans we are taking already, but we really want to show this journey ... and hopefully what works!

I remember reading your blog when you started the farm with the original 40 acres, it doesn't seem like it was 15 years ago. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens with this land. - Rich

Thanks Rich! You have been around the whole time ... 15 years seems like not that long ago for me, and at the same time seems like it was ages ago!

Listened to your podcast years ago when we were first starting (7 years in now) and learned alot. Glad to see things are going well for your farm and look forward to more videos as you convert this piece of property. We're 55 acres but looking for more ourselves due to growth. Our property was crops and we were able to get grants and great advice from our local coop extension to convert to pasture. You're probably aware but figured I'd mention it if it's helpful. All the best!

Thanks for following along for so long! Our local NRCS grazing specialist is coming out this week to talk about our options for cost share for seeding, fence, water, etc. My main concern is the timeline and what I can or can't do in the meantime. But, hopefully we'll but together a plan!
