No I do care!! Hahah, I cut it out but I kept saying just about every ingredient was optional. The flax, the chocolate chips, the salt, lol. What the heck are we left with?!?!
omg just made these and they're delicious! thank you :) btw if anyone's wondering, I omitted the protein powder and just did 1/2 C of oat milk instead and it worked perfectly :)
We are. I hope the same for you. And yes thank you, I am doing what I can to provide some entertainment and ideas. I have to edit up a sauerkraut vid next. Not sure it will be as popular as this one though. Lol.
@James Parker Seems extremely dangerous for a dog to stick their head in and lick a blender left on the floor. I'm hoping you have some blender without an exposed blade. Highly recommend people with animals don't leave blenders on the floor.
DAMN! That would have been a GREAT idea. I thought about putting hemp in them, but not sure why I didn't think about rolling them in hemp seeds. It could have been Cookie Dough balls 3 ways!!!!
Hey Derrick. I’m a big fan. Wanted to tell you I never ate a date in my 70 years. After watching you, I tried them and now I eat them everyday, in cereal, oatmeal, smoothies etc. Btw, it’s best to use Ceylon cinnamon as the standard has too much coumarin, can be toxic to your liver.
It's probably fine to use the standard cinnamon in occasional recipes like this one. I usually do because I think it tastes way better than Ceylon cinnamon. If you use it it every day on the other hand, like in oatmeal, then better to use ceylon.
I make these and freeze them. Take them out and eat almost right away. Thanks for this video because I needed the reminder to make them again. I do like your addition of the coconut flakes!
Guys, if you don't have medjool dates just blend the dates you have together with the plant milk whatever it may be and put that in the flour together with the peanut butter. I've tried it and it works well, no problems.
If I had that bowl here it wouldn't last a minute... Just what I need right now to watch videos of my favorite comedian and forget about the coronavirus media frenzy that gets you sicker than the virus itself ... Cool cookies 👍
I enjoy your channel. I recently shifted my eating more towards plant-based - not 100% and not hardcore. I do it for the "health of it". Great recipes. I'm going to make these cookie dough balls tonight when my daughter comes to visit.
Ohhh, yesss. I’ve become the Medjool Date fairy lately! My grandma mentioned snacking on gumdrops & I gave her a date-she now wants those. Will surprise her with these cookies sometime.
Thank you, Derek and Crystal for recommending the restaurant, Be Love, in Victoria. My husband and I went there a couple of weeks ago and really loved it. I hope it will survive all that’s going on right now. 😕
You are just amazing. I have followed you for a couple of years. I have decided to go plant based because of how you represent this lifestyle. Thank you!!
What a great recipe. We made it original the first time. We did make some tweaks 2and time around. We added the cocunut to the blender and mixed with the oats and flax seed. We added chopped walnuts and mashed in a banana when mixing dough. AMAZING! Keep up the great work and iseas
I love the light and love you are sharing with the world through these hard times. What about a couple of your favorite comfort food, pantry friendly SOUPS ~ something we could all eat on for a few days. So much Gratitude,,,
Just made these now, with linseed, crunchy peanut butter and a mix of figs and dates. They are fantastic! Had them with a cup of tea and they put us both in a good mood! Thank you! ;)
I like making energy balls with just dates and crushes peanuts. I use a food processor and blend the dates until they form a ball on thier own. Then just roll them in peanuts.
So delicious! My daughter made these today. She omitted the protein powder (just because we didn't have any) added a little more oat flour and baked half the batch. The only problem with the baked half is that they are browned and crisp on the outside, chewy in the middle, and I can't stop eating them. 😆
So I made these when the video came out and just finished the last one 2day and they were enjoyable. One thing I will mention though that makes these taste so much better is a bit of heat. I left mine in the car 2day and it was fairly warm in the car when I went on my lunch break, and biting into was like tasting soft, fresh cookie dough that had just been mixed by hand... delish... 🤤
Thanks Derek, watched the video and made the entire recipe in a total of about 20 minutes. Dayum! Also appreciate any more apocalypse recipes - especially those that use minimal ingredients (ie to stretch out our quarantine supply)
Can't wait to try these! Also really helpful that you don't add your dates into a blender. I've used so many recipes in the past that say to do this and it just makes a big sticky mess in my blender instead! It seems obvious now to just chop them up instead but I think I needed you to do it first to make me realise it was an option!! Will do this in future, thanks!
for whatever reason, i collect youtube recipes but yours are the only ones i get up and do almost immediately after watching hahaha. i think it's because they're easy to make. thanks!
Just made a double batch of these and wow! They are amazing! I did not have any nut butter so I threw a heaping cup of peanuts with the non dairy milk in the blend with the dates and blended them after I had already blended the oats. I used Crossfuel began raw protein because I can not afford your protein haha
Just made these this morning. It's hard to not get the dough to stick to my hands though! They are really sticky. I put mine in the oven for 10 minutes at 375. I figured since it's cookie dough, I should bake them into cookies! Thanks for the awesome recipes.
Made these without the protein powder, choc chips, cinnamon or cocunt flakes (pretty much everything that would make it taste good) , because I didn't have on hand, and ya know, they were still really tasty, and so quick and easy to make.. Look forward to making these with the full ingredients lol thanks man
Just two comments for I bake a lot. When you are using powder products moisture in the air really affects how they mix, so instead of just using measuring cups using a scale will be more consistent. As you mentioned your hand temperature can melt the chocolate, so it is better to use a wooden spoon to mix the ingredients. I used peanut butter with chunks in them, which gave it a crunchy taste which was sooo good .
I've only got chocolate Buttons. Definitely making this bro, peanut butter 😋. You know what, I'm going to take a break from renovation to make this right now. So far lockdown is ok. Thanks Derek much 💪🏾🖤🤙🏾🤗
Man , you keep 1up-ing yourself each time! I love easy healthy fast cooking en general . But every video has more simple, tasty, healthy, quick recipes. I've been a big fan of your oatmeal cookies, I've taking them to tons of reunions. But this "takes the palm", as we say in Spain haha. (Means surpasses all limits)
You’re right I have everything except the coconut flakes, and I’m going to make them tonight. Sounds yum!!!! Might add some chopped toasted pecans or cashews to sub for the coconut.
Tip 1: you can throw dark chocolate in the food mixer (if it is strong enough) if you do not have cocoa nibs. Tip 2: you can also use raisins instead of dates. Good luck!
Yo thank you so much for this recipe. My university closed down recently and i've been trying to use up all my food before heading back home. This recipe was perfect for that.
I am addicted to these. I've probably made them at least 10 times with some variation. Although, my wife doesn't like them at all. That's okay because more for me. LOL
Yummy, Derek. What a terrific and easy recipe. Thanks for posting it. If you don't have a high powered blender, a coffee grinder works great for making the oat flour.
These are Amazing! I'm probably going to make these for the rest of my life! The only thing I do different is I cut the amount of protein and add about a tablespoon hemp seeds😊 So delish! Thank you so much!😊
Thanks for the recipe, so easy to do and they taste amazing. I hate making breakfast in a morning so when I start bulking again it will help boost my morning calories so easy! Keep up the good work 💪♥️
