Just a hint if you put a broad strip if foil or parchment paper under the dish about 12 to 15 inches long it will help you lift your dishes in and out of the Ninja.😊😊
A slightly solid rice pud can be revived using evaporated milk and lots of it stirred in. Limit the butter and cream if using evap otherwise it’s too much for the arteries.
I bought 2 of those glass dishes today at the supermarket, the lids are fantastic as you said and the glass is quite thick. Cant wait to make the rice pudding now. Right over the other side of the world but we swap great ideas and hints. Thankyou for your channel which is great. 👍🇦🇺
Love this, just what I love about RU-vid is sharing great ideas ! Making new contacts you can have a chat with ! I really hope you enjoy them as much as we do and thank you so much for commenting it means a lot xxx
Hi Susie I saw another RU-vid video and she used pan grips to lift dishes out of Air fryer so I got some and they are brilliant..... your rice pudding looks lovely...love watching your videos 👍
I just bought an air fryer lid for my instant pot pressure cooker. This looks like a great recipe to try with it. Do you use the same rice pudding recipe in your pressure cooker?
I do but it does give a different result , one of my subscribers suggested that you do a few minutes pressure cooking then change over to my method which would cut the cooking time down !! I have not tried this yet but I think it is quite a good idea xxx thanks for commenting xx
Hello from West Australia - Your in the UK. Can you describe the containers you used plz. I will get some and try the rice pudding in my Dual Ninja. Regards
I bought mine from Amazon they are oven proof glass and they come with plastic lids so you can freeze them , so useful . I am not sure if your beautiful country gets Amazon xxx
@immenseTie Hi there I am at work at the moment on night duty , but tomorrow I will get a link to you that will show you the item on the page and then you may be able to track them down xxx
Igluu Meal Prep Glass Containers [5 PACK + EXTRA lid] - Glass Food Storage, Microwave, Oven, Freezer & Dishwasher-safe - Airtight Meal Prep Boxes with Snap Lock Steam Vent Lids, BPA-Free (840ml 28oz) We love these dishes as they tick all the boxes for us, especially if we make more than one batch as once they are cooled down, you just put the lid on it and freeze.
Hi Sarah , my ninja is the small 2 draw and it is called the 300 . I am considering buy a large round air fryer and using them side by side . I love the fact it cooks so quickly . Thanks for commenting xx
You can buy a lifter to take your dishes out of sir fryers. They look like the lifter you get in Halton ovens. If not to heavy I use my fish slice under the container as well
Hi Stephanie sorry for delay I have been away. I actually do it slightly different now to cut cooking time down . I use all the same ingredients but start it of in the pressure cooker for 7 mins then turn it into the glass dishes and I use Bake not roast and temperature is 170 degrees for 35 mins . The ingredients are 3 tablespoons of pudding rice , 2 as of
Sorry I hit send by accident 2 tablespoons of sugar one Demerara and one granulated . 1 tablespoon of sultanas, zest of a lemon , grated nutmeg a good sprinkle and 3/4 of a pint of milk a few knobs of butter on the top before cooking . This is for one glass dish. You can use sugar alternatives as my friends do if you are diabetic . Xxx
Thanks for yet another very informative video. I do appreciate you doing these. I’ll give the pudding a go. Have used my slow cooker to do one with great results but sadly you don’t get the caramelisation with it. 😀
Thank you so much that means a lot, yes I have found that with my pressure cooker , you do get a good pudding but with no colour or caramelisation. Just don’t burn yourself like I did 😂😂 xxx
I just heard your comments about using your pressure cooker to make rice pudding. You could make it in the pressure cooker as normal, then finish them off in the ninja, to get my the lovely skin.
hmm ??? it might be worthwhile butchering a silicone sheet to make a few reusable lifting straps ?? for these situations ??? Saves on having to keep making them from foil over and over ??
@@cookingwithsusie The truth is no lie. You're welcome Susie. I'm going to give your recipe a go. I just bought a Cosori 5.5 ltr air fryer so I'm new to all this but an eager student. Hi hi from Aberdeen Scotland xxx
Hi Valerie , oh my word we are in love with your truly beautiful country ! I had most of my holidays as a child in Scotland. We are going up to Sutherland in June , sadly we live at the bottom of England it is an eleven hour drive up to where we are going so we don’t get there as much as we would like . Thank you for watching snd commenting xxxx
Hi Janis , I am just rushing of to work 😂 if you go to susiehunter.co.uk then go to Susie’s tools page scroll down and you will find a link to the Amazon page I bought them from xxx if you do not find them I will help you out when I get in xxx
Hi , the glass dishes are 7.5 inches long and 5 inches wide, I have the smaller ninja the 300 model , if you have a 400 you can buy bigger. Thanks for enjoying the videos it means a lot xxx
@@mistyqqq don’t worry at all and you are not a pain ! When I get home from work I will send you the link on Amazon , although I have been told people have seen them cheaper in other stores xx
Thank you so much ! He is cute , sadly he is very autistic and struggles with life , he spends two nights a week with us and we love him dearly . Thank you for commenting xx
Hi again Suzie. I’d love it if you could do a video showing a meal cooked in your electric pressure cooker, something like a basic meat casserole type thing. Nothing fancy just say meat, veg, etc. I got my Instant Pot to do this type of thing but need a bit of a hand holding with it to up my confidence level. Many thanks. Dianne
Hi Dianne , yes I will do a Ragu /Bolognese type dish , it is like an Italian stew , it has veg , meat and canned tomatoes in it . Later in the year I will be doing a couple of stews as well , more traditional . I will try and get it sorted in the next week so it gives you a general idea xxx
I have not done a video of Rice pudding in the pressure cooker as it would not caramelise in it the same way it does in a normal oven or in the ninja ! You could just use the same method I use and give 8 mins in the pressure cooker then have a look and see if it needs s little more . It may need to be then simmered a little to cream it up xxx
Oh Susie..your cooking on the air fryer are fantastic..can't wait to try that rice pudding..watching and listening to you from Co kerry..il be watching out for most stuff..do the glass dishes have to be Pyrex..🙏🙏..
Hi Mary , thank you so much , no my glass dishes are not Pyrex but they are oven proof . I will be doing a few dishes using the glass dishes so do keep looking . Thank you again xxx
I don't know if the rice was worth doing for more than two people not a lot on the plates to be honest l could have even eaten the whole bowl without pie l like rice pudding on its own pie with custard l love l have never seen rice with pie....enjoy
You have a good point and my grandson ate one of the dishes himself 😂, my ninja is the small one and to be honest if I had a lot of money I would now buy a bigger one and use both 😂 the first time we had rice pudding used as a side was in a hotel and they served it cold with hot Caribbean bananas, it was so good I now quite often use it as a side dish but we also love a big bowl on its own xxx
Hi Kenneth , I usually add the cream just after the milk and it is choice as to how much really ! I usually add about a table spoon , there are no hard rules to this lots of people don’t add cream at all and others add more , experiment to find what you enjoy the most , do think though cream is quite thick and actually thickens things so if you add loads you will throw your dish out of balance . Thanks for commenting xx
Oh thank you Rick , so nice of you ! You have a channel full of the most wonderful recipes . I don’t know how you do it , but keep doing it as it is great to watch and learn . Hope you are keeping well many thanks Susie x
This looks so yummy, shame you got burnt. Would you please do it again using all the correct settings? By the way a lady on you tube called Budget Cooking UK has a tool for getting items out of ninja dual and it’s fab, it’s a pot gripper.
Hi , I love rice pudding , thanks for letting me know about the pit gripper ,the video you watched is nearly a year old and since then I have learnt so much !! Lots of people have come forward with all sorts of ways of getting things out so I now have lots of options . I will send over the settings for you when I go to my desk . Xxxx
Hi! Just found you today. Can't give you any tips on cooking with air fryer as I'm still learning, but I can give you advice if you have a slight burn - just smooth some toothpaste on the burn and you'll get instant relief.
Hi Kathryn , that is really useful to know !! I feel I am still learning with air fryers myself ! Main tip is just think it is a small oven ! But the heat comes directly down with powerful fans so things like breadcrumbs can get blown everywhere and that sometimes it might looked ready yet not be cooked inside . Thanks god commenting xxx
@@cookingwithsusie Yes it is a big learning curve. I've perfected the art of making apple crumble and I start off with covering with foil as I sprinkle chopped nuts on top for extra crunch. Lemon yogurt cake yesterday came out lovely except for the middle bottom which hadn't cooked. I just cut that away and enjoyed the rest.😁 Doing a binge watch through your videos.
Oh that lemon yogurt cake sounds lovely even with a soggy bottom 😂 I have many recipes I have not had time to do yet but I am getting there slowly 😂 hope you like some of the recipes xxx
Brilliant video. Thank you. You cook like me, by rule of thumb. I would make a sling with foil to lift your dishes in and out of the tray. (That's a lot of wobbly fun!) 😆
Thank you , I have been using them and it works really well , apart from the first time when the foil gave way ! My own fault for not folding it enough . I am currently trying out some silicone baskets that sit in the pans and the glass dish can go in them , they have handles , I have used the a couple of times and not really sure I like them ! Thanks for commenting xx
How about enjoying the best of both worlds? Saving time and money by cooking the rice pudding in the pressure cooker and then airfrying it for the pudding to carmelize and set.
@@margueritahancock5472 you are correct I did buy the cherry pie from the shop thank you , although this summer I do intend try baking a pie in the ninja 😂 xxx
Do you think grandad advised your grandson. To add a lovely compliment , so you make a few more of those rice puddings, hehe. In our case grandad would tell the grandchildren , tell Nan it’s lovely she will then do more often . Hehe. Mind you it did look, nice, I must say. Hehe
Ha ha , my grandson Owen is so funny bless him he watches all the cooking shows , he loves food (eating it 😂) he spends two nights a week staying at our house to give his mum and dad a little break . He is severely austisic bless him , he is 6ft2in and has a mental age of about 9 or 10 the world makes no sense to him , we love him so much . As for rice pudding in our house those dishes are just not big enough 😂😂 they want a whole one each . I often make that as it is a really easy pudding to give him on an evening. My husband and Owen are the best of friends ❤️ xxx
I find my air fryer easier than my normal oven. Much less mess and cleaning not to mention saving in energy. Only use the main oven for occasions like Christmas when the capacity is needed. I have a Cosori dual blaze which has a sizeable square basket and a heating element on top and bottom so no need for shaking or turning food. It can be used for making anything you would make in the oven. I have made a whole chicken, fantastic cheese scones, baked fish (and of course the chips!) It is much faster too. I thoroughly recommend them and this one in particular.
Oh I have never heard of that before ! Interesting, afraid I cannot tolerate eggs even though I love them they make me Poorly . Always good to have fresh ideas though xx
I actually don’t find it two much !! As don’t like anything too sweet , friends use this recipe with sugar alternatives which works and if you think how much sugar is used in commercial ingredients this is quite low ! Always good to think about hear things though xx
