Simple way to make STL-STYLED fried rice at home. This is shrimp fried rice with onions, eggs, & bean sprouts. Feel free to use different meats & veggies. It's all about what you like.
I made my first big plate of fried rice today. I followed your directions and it turned out perfectly. I added eggs onions tomatoes green peppers bean sprouts ground beef cayenne pepper. Totally delicious. Thank you for inspiring me.

Thank you. I moved to Springfield MO which has hundreds of Asian style restaurants and not one of them knows how to cook St. Louis fried rice and they never heard of a St. Paul sandwich, and I can't find hot braised chicken either.
I appreciate this so much, I just moved to south county and my drives to the city sometimes is a headache. Now I can just make it at home instead of picking through carrots and peas 😭😭😭 Thank you so much!!!!
I can't get to a chop suey in stl. sooooooo making it with the browning sauce is going to have to work for me because I'm in Seattle Washington and been craving fried rice for so long. Ican't get to a foreign store and so I ran across this, I can't wait to make it
This video is so old. But I'm new to STL rice. I tried two versions. One with dark soy and yours. They both were good but I liked it with the browning liquid much better. Thanks for the recipe !

So I've heard 3 ways to get the rice dark, this video's way, using molasses, and using only dark soy sauce. I'm just going to have to try all of these versions until I get the taste I expect.
Hi there I love your video and I’m also in TN as well and have been missing home and I’m so ready to try your recipe. I have one question for you do you use instant rice or regular white rice
I'm from the east side and I been buying everything I see dark but it never turns brown as I want it 🤦🏾♂️what's the sauce that makes it dark name please and thank you
You can use any soy sauce & browning sauce you'd like. I like LaChoy or Kikkoman soy sauces....I also like the browning sauce in a datk bottle with a yellow label. I think the brand is Kitchen Bouquet
