Coolant level low/ad coolant Insignia FIX.

I had this issue with mi insignia and every time I started the engine this coolant level low / ad coolant error was popping on the dash display.
In the end was necessary to change the hole expansion tank because the piece inside that indicates the level was bad. Enjoy and consider subscribing if you want to see more stuff like this. Thank you.

I keep getting this message but when i start car but when the temperature goes up to 90 the warming goes away. Should i be concerned ?

I think you are just low on coolant. Check the coolant when the engine is cold and if it is bellow minimum add some more to bring it to level. Then see if the error disappear. When the engine is hot the cooling system is under pressure and that that may cause the sensor to read a correct value.

Hello, i got same message on display, but my antifreeze fluid is below proper level. Can i just add some more fluid? Or is there some specific procedure that i need to folow? Also is there some specific brand of antifreeze that goea in insignia or it could be any kind? Thank you

If it's below level just ad some more to rise it to proper level. You can ad any brand of antifreeze just make sure you put the same type ( G12 I think ) just Google it to see the exact type. Check if you have the same error after the antifreeze is at the proper level, if everything is ok it should not appear anymore.

Hello. It depends how you order it. You can order with or without sensor. If your problem is inside with the floating piece then you can mount the old sensor when you change the vessel.

Hi. Yes the float that indicates the coolant level is inside the tank. But only the floating pice...the sensor is mounted underneath the tank and reads the position of the floating piece inside. The tank is made in such a way that the sensor can be removed widouth draining the coolant.

@@vabprojects that's great cause I keep getting the message coolent low an looked inside tank an the flot is at the bottom lol so I take it that's buggerd

You can try to drain and unmount the tank and clean it very well and see if the message disappear. But most likely you will need to replace the tank because of that floating piece because it's not floating properly anymore. I ended doing so and everything it's normal again. I have paid for the tank and it came with new sensor around 60 euros.

@@davesanderson703 it's not an expensive part anyway but it seems to be a common flaw. either the float sticking or a little crack in the tank itself so you get a slow leak. Easy fix either way
