According to NFL Network, Dak Prescott would need to make quote: 'significant strides' in his recovery from thumb surgery to be ready to play the Philadelphia Eagles this upcoming Sunday night. Honestly, this is a picture perfect example of the differences between expectations and the realities that result from them. Dak was sensational as a rookie when he was thought of as nothing more than a backup to Tony Romo. Cooper Rush is sensational right now because he is thought of as nothing more than a backup to Dak Prescott. If Cooper Rush somehow takes over (he won't, but he has proven he can be an adequate starter in this league), the expectations will rise very quickly and then he will be hated due to the elevated expectations.

Agree. I started watching Cowboys when I met my husband 15 years ago. It's frustrating because I usually don't feel like the Cowboys get beaten, but rather that they GIVE AWAY the game by penalties, turnovers, other mistakes. I like that Rush doesn't showboat. Dallas didn't look "great", but the difference from this year and the last few was management. Managing the clock and doing nothing to lose once you have the lead. You don't need to win by 30+ if you control the ball and keep your defense from playing gassed every weekend.

I think the Zero interceptions is the biggest factor. When you turnover the ball and give the offense momentum its game changing. And Cooper Rush is somehow keeping that from happening. Granted...the Defense is carrying him

Matt stafford led the league in interceptions in 2022 and help win a super bowl with the rams also Burrow was ranked 4th along with Mahomes in interceptions thrown so 2 of the top 5 qb’s leading the league in interceptions were in the sb. You got to air it out man no one wins the big games or more importantly even get there sb/playoffs without having some balls.

Stupid comment , rush is at around 60 % completion percentage while barely being asked to do much. He makes enough plays to win but thats it. Only a naive fool thinks Rush is better than Dak. The defense is playing lights out and special teams is good. Not once did I feel rush had to do much yesterday.

As long as A) the defense keeps it up, and B) the offense continues to feature the run, the Cowboys should continue winning. But if "Dak is Bak!!" mania takes over, and suddenly it's all passing, the offense will start losing again, no matter how many gifts the defense hands them. Dak is decent, but he needs to pass less. Let others help carry the weight.

If Dallas goes back to Dak and the Cowboys lose in Philly, then regardless of the score or the circumstances, Dak is going to be blamed. If the Cowboys go with Cooper and Dallas pulls out a miraculous victory, then the Cowboys would have to continue with Cooper Rush against at least the Lions and the Bears.

Cooper Rush has GREAT touch!! He was 10-16 with a few drops by CeeDee and company that would have given him approximately 50-75 more yards in passing!! No INTERCEPTIONS!!!!! He plays smart. Bro, Cooper Rush makes an average annual salary of $977,000. Dak makes average annual salary of $40,000,000. Rush is playing exceptionally well for his pay grade. Multiple TDs, on target deep passes, no turnovers and no mistakes so far. WAY more value than Dak has ever been outside of him rookie year.

There's no actual way you believe the dumb things you are typing about these 2 QBs. Dak is the 9th highest paid QB at this point. If you can't get over his contract, that's just you living in the past, because Dak tried to take a team friendly deal and Jerry refused that contract and waited until he had no other option but to pay his franchise QB a big contract. Dak is better than Cooper Rush at everything, including accuracy and timing and "football IQ" as you put it. Rush is in the bottom 15 of 3rd down stat metrics so far. Dak is top 10 throughout his career, top 5 last year. Dak won 12 games just last year, throwing for 4400 yards with a 70% completion rate. Dallas has the best defense in the NFC East and a Top 3 defense in the NFL along with the SF 49ers and Buffalo defense. In the playoffs though you need Prescott to make big throws against elite teams.
