Trying to recovery copper a different way from small transformers using small 110v hammer mill pulverizer to pulverize transformers then run it through blue bowl to separate copper from junk.
DF-40S Hammer Mill Pulverizer: amzn.to/3SQxtgV
Blue Bowl Concentrator Kit for Gold Recovery: amzn.to/3S4y7Hj

Yet another great experiment. Keep it up and well done

You need to mag out the ferrite before you run in through the hammer mill each time. This way you’ll get a much cleaner copper product. I never saw you Mag out anything. Ferrite can go in your steel scrap bucket.

Interesting method 👍😁

You call them non-ferrous transformers, however they are ferrous. It's a ceramic or manganese/steel, but it's definitely magnetic, and can be sold to the scrap yard for tin shred price.
@MetalScrapLab
@MetalScrapLab 5 месяцев назад
I agree they are ferrous in that way, but I meant that its not a standard steel shell because it would be difficult or impossible for the machine to break it.

@@MetalScrapLab yes, it's not the usual "E and I" steel plates, true.

Hi, Great Video! Could you tell me the name the last machine, that uses water?

It should be three times bigger to be profitable I guess...

What kind of milk is that I have a lot of transformers from circuit boards and would like to get the copper out of them, but they’re very time-consuming to do by hand

Lovely. What are your long term plans for this equipment and process?

Recovering gold from PCB components. Knowing what this machine can do, I will shop on eBay for high grade boards and components that difficult to process without this kind of machine is where I will have advantage.

Good video. Would be curious as to what sort of $ power was consumed.

As close as I can get I ran it for about 15-20 minutes in total so maybe 8-12 cents in electricity based on Florida rates.

Electricity in most of the USA is essentially free for these purposes, less than $.20 / KWH

Can I ask what type of grinder that is? It's brilliant. Ps channel is really good thanks for posting these

Its a DF-40S hammer mill pulverizer. Mine is 110v, I thinks it's 2200 watt motor.

Thank you very much for that. Its ideal for what I am looking for. Can you put cut sections of cable into it without a mesh to pre shred?
@MetalScrapLab
@MetalScrapLab 5 месяцев назад
@judicare I tried to pre shred wires with wood chipper as fine as I can, because they can easily clog the tunnel. I don't know how long is your sections of cable, but if you can fit it through feeding tunnel then you can pre shred without screen. I got this machine for pulverizing pcb components mostly, I'm not really into wires copper recovery, it's that I had plenty of wires laying around so might as well as process them.

Whats is this Machine? wher can i by it?

Seems like you could of cleaned it in 3 minutes by picking the trash out by hand after the first run for #2 copper.
@MetalScrapLab
@MetalScrapLab 5 месяцев назад
yes, I could of but then I would miss out on playing with the blue bowl ))

I agree that is more fun and a better video. You might have added 20 cents value though going #2 to #1 copper.@@MetalScrapLab

Lets see, you ended up with about 1/3 the weight and increased the value by 3. Other than I thought it was neat and it beats the hell out of the hammer mill I made, you did not gain any advantage. I have a bunch of circuit boards to do so I will look closely at this method.
@MetalScrapLab

Thanks for pointing that out, I think my math was way off don't know why I said by 3. 1969 grams (4.34 lb) x 0.20 cents/lb = 86 cents. Maybe #2 copper 599 grams (1.32 lb) x $3.20/lb = $4.23. $4.23 - $0.86 = $3.37 added value. You can check my math but I think the weight was reduced by 3 like you said but increased the overall value by 4.9 times. My math could be way off again.
