Scrapping, scavenging, and Lab Experiments. I do like to scrap electronic waste as it is therapeutic for me and also gives me a reason to make entertainment videos taking e-waste apart and encouraging others to recycle. Most of the electronic waste that I find would have gone to the landfill anyways if I would not rescue it so don't feel bad seeing me taking e-waste apart that you think can be better resold. There is not much money in scrapping and reselling unless you're going through tons of e-waste.
Cast-iron frying pan with a 1/4 inch of molten solder in the bottom for through-hole. Air chisel on low with a wide blade for surface mount. Faster, no chemicals. Still need a fume hood, though, what with fumes from hot plastic and metal.
This is an instructional video of how NOT to refine e-waste for precious metals. With the advent of the internet you would think research would have been done prior to trying this.. lol this is Just plain stupid.
I looked at doing that a couple of years ago, with the electric wood chipper, I think it would work if you had a screen like what is on the hammer mill. The board has to bounce around instead of going straight through.
😲Even f your RU-vid channel doesn't succeed, I believe you will. Impressive. And you may have paid for your materials with copper recovery! I trust you saved your washes? You'll find some gold in there.
Truth be known, you lost some gold, but not much. I've been doing this stuff for over 10 years. Most of what you threw in that machine had zero gold. With very meticulous separation I would expect maybe a point zero one MAX recovery from each board. Most of that would not come from the gold pins. Example: A few months ago I got my hands on 30 + lbs of clean, unused gold riser pins. My recovery was 13 grams. Less than 1/2 a gram from a pound of pins. You had some gold pins and a few IC chips on each board
Where do you Scavenge For Your Electronics ?? That’s a Lot for only Two weeks you said You did an hour or so A Day. I’m Trying to do this in my Spare Time but all I have is an Electric Scooter it’s a High End brand goes About 40 MPH for Off-road or Street. I’m in the Process of making a Motorcycle Style Cargo Hauler. So I can Buy Facebook Deals, Free Scrap Anything to take, Roadside Stuff. I Scrap, Recycle Keep Copper, Gold, Silver, Brass. Make Bins of Scrap Metals to do Scrapyard Runs when I get Enough to Make It Worth It. I’m Just About to Start Gold and Silver Refining For Myself. Just like to take Stuff apart see how it works. Also Makes You money To Scrap Sort keep the Gold and Silver Scrapyard Runs for Everything Else. It’s Amazing How Much People Throw Away Wish I Had A Truck.
I don't scavage anymore at this time. All that was a result of Hurricane Ian passing through Florida. There was tons and tons of stuff everywhere. I mean every street had some sort of electronics, loads and loads of TVs, and many many ceiling fans. Unfortunately, many people lost their homes and moved out. But the streets became clean after about a month or so, so there was no more point in scavenging anymore.
I had to put it aside for now. I'm working on my regular job for now to pay down some of my debt. But I do plan to get back to it, I have a project in process, but not sure when I will finish the video.
Mi sono iscritto perche trovo interessante i tuoi video. Poi volevo anche chiederti se ci fai vedere nel dettaglio come fai per recuperare il rame. Grazie
To all beginners (not this guy, he's smart and knows already) start with 2-3 grams of 10k gold scrap. Then you can see the process and get enough gold back to know you didn't fail. Most guys get 0.1 gold at the end orless because they do to little ewaste, and they dont see the 0.1gram and assume they failed when they really didnt. If you do enough to see the process start to end, youll learn a lot! This dude knew there wouldnt be much gold to see, he did it right (not my way though) and knew it was to little to expect much gold.
You seem to have skills, i imagine you are capable of much more. Advice... buy clean presirted scrap next time. Harvesting and seperating parts and material is 90% of the work. You have some amazing tools (or man toys), you can increase your yield with a better, cleaner process. 👍
Ignore all the naysayers because I'm sure their copper wash plant is far more functional than yours! Question for you? I guess the theory is that the water helps to float away the plastic insulation that was coating the wires. Do you think that the very fine grind you have taken the copper wires to might also help to carry away the copper that can't dislodge itself from the insulation??? I guess I am wondering if there is an optimal particular grind size that helps to pull the copper from the insulation that offers a higher yield from the insulation? Thanks for taking the time to post your methods and the results.
Some copper does stay tingled with insulation and floats away resulting in loss. I'm trying to balance between time spent and loss. I think in my other video I do run copper grindings a second time to untangle as much as I can. Overall I think it's about under 5% copper loss with one time grind, and maybe 2-3% loss with grinding twice in total. So, the second grind might not be worth it at all, but it does help slightly with untangling the copper from the insulation. The more finer the grind is the better copper recovery you'll get.
nice machine brother, for transformers perhaps use Large-Holes, no need have Powder mix, did you try Magnet or Blue-Bowl to Separate, what was Result ...
watched most your vids now, very interesting. it seems some nice equipment available from both china and india. We was in midst of starting a LAB with CHEMICALS, yet cant find a SPACE for it. it be loads of Fun following Your-Lead and possibly use ELEC-TRICKERY to take apart MOLTEN-METALS from PCB, unless you can show a simpler way. keep them coming ...
In my opinion, it may be better to turn on the water after depositing the material to the bottom of the bowl. Alternatively, you can use a pipe (with a taper cut at the bottom end) to deposit the material to the bottom of the bowl while the water is running.
What kind of milk is that I have a lot of transformers from circuit boards and would like to get the copper out of them, but they’re very time-consuming to do by hand
Try make a little cyclone dust separator for the hammer mill instead of that bag, as dust just pases right out, i know you got your mask on but it will help keep everywhere clean and you never know might make it even easier as you can just empty into the hammered mix.
