Jewelry Making Quick Tip - Cord Knotting Double and Triple Knots
In this quick tip video I show you how to easily make double and triple knots. This trick is featured in my Knotted Cord Bracelet tutorial video, and I got lots of comments about how useful that was, so I thought I'd share it in its own video.
If you're new to cord knotting, you might think all you have to do to make a double knot is to tie one knot right over another one, but it doesn't exactly work that way. If you try it, what you'll get is just two of the same size knots right next to each other, which won't help you if you're trying to make a larger knot to prevent a bead from slipping over.

06/14/23,,i got royally fouled up retying a Mala,,used doubles and embroidery thread. At #47 a knot was made trapping loose beads with no chance of fixing it. bummer,,like i say,,"patience from mental patient's takes patience." OM🙏🏼 i'll look for the other sites mentioned too.

ohhhhh noooo, I feel your pain! Do you have a beading awl? Sometimes it can help undo knots....that may help in future!

That was a great tip. I was having trouble making my double knots with larger beads. I didn't even think of using the surgeon's knot or even the triple. Thanks so much!

hi there! What would be the best flexible glue to use to avoid a knot to go undone when burning is not an option? I finish my japamalas with pendant and as the knot is kinda under the pendant loop, it's difficult to burn which I would prefer otherwise. Thank you :)

Hi! I like GS Hypocement for something like this. It has a tiny needle tip applicator so you can get it exactly where you want it. Another good option is E6000 if you can apply it with a toothpick or something. Hope that helps! Thanks for your comment, my apologies for the slow reply!
